ISFL season 39 (also referred to as the 2054 NSFL season) began on 27 September, 2054 with the New York Silverbacks hosting the Orange County Otters. The season concluded with Ultimus Bowl XXXIX, held at Allegiant Stadium, Las Vagas on 07 February, 2055.

Player movements

The league year began in March of 2054, with teams allowed to contact and enter negotiations with players whose contracts were not yet extended beyond the end of the 2053 ISFL season.

Free agency

Free agency began on 22 February, 2054

Trades

  • Arizona -> Orange County: Arizona receives $3M in S39 cap space from Orange County in exchange for a S41 4th round pick (if class is greater than 99 player, becomes a 5th round pick)
  • Arizona -> New Orleans: Arizona receives Amari Springer - S from New Orleans in exchange for a S40 6th round pick
  • Cape Town -> Berlin: Cape Town receives Bageshwari Singh - QB and a S41 4th round pick from Berlin in exchange for a S41 3rd round and 4th round pick
  • Austin -> New York: Austin receives Nick L Back - TE from New York in exchange for a S40 5th round pick
  • Sarasota -> Cape Town: Sarasota receives Zoltan - OL from Cape Town in exchange for a S40 3rd round pick
  • Baltimore -> Colorado: Baltimore receives Fuzzy George - S and a S40 2nd round pick from Colorado in exchange for Cob Corning - CB and a S41 3rd round pick
  • San Jose -> Orange County: San Jose receives President Camacho - WR, a S41 2nd round pick and a S41 conditional pick from Orange County in exchange for a S40 3rd round pick and a S41 1st round pick
  • Honolulu -> Cape Town: Honolulu receives Theo Lariat - CB from Cape Town in exchange for a S40 3rd round pick (via New York)
  • Yellowknife -> Honolulu: Yellowknife receives two S40 2nd round picks (one via New York) and $5M S40 cap space from Honolulu in exchange for a S40 1st round and 2nd round pick
  • Orange County -> Colorado: Orange County receives a S40 1st round pick and a S41 4th round pick from Colorado in exchange for a S41 1st round pick (conditional; Part of 3-way trade with San Jose, COL receives the later pick 1st round pick of OCO or SJS)
  • San Jose -> Colorado: San Jose receives Graham Harper - CB in from Colorado in exchange for Cedric Wilkins II - CB and a S41 1st round pick (conditional; see above trade. Part of 3-way trade with Orange County)
  • San Jose -> Orange County: San Jose receives a S40 3rd roun pick from Orange County (Part of 3-way trade with Colorado)

Draft

The 2054 ISFL Draft was held on 12 April, 2054. The Honolulu Hahalua selected linebacker Seth Leavitt with the first overall pick.

Rule changes

The following rule changes were approved by a committee consisting of ISFL general managers and Head Office, to come into effect for the 2054 season and beyond:

  • Beginning 24 hours before the Ultimus stream airs and ending when the draft officially starts, allow ISFL GMs to post and accept trades involving players in public league spaces. These trades take effect at the beginning of the offseason after the Ultimus stream finishes airing once approved by the budget team.
  • Teams are allowed to begin re-signing inactive players once Week 13 ends. Any inactive player who is not re-signed prior to the posting of the Free Agency list will enter Open Bidding at the start of free agency.

Preseason

Training camps for the 2054 season started on 02 August, 2054 league-wide, with the first preseason game being held on 30 August, 2054 between the Arizona Outlaws and the Orange County Otters.

Regular season

The regular season's 112 games, played over a 16 week schedule, began on 27 September, 2054.

Postseason

The 2054 (S39) NSFL playoffs consisted of three rounds; with four divisional games being played before two conference championships – contested by the winners of each divisional game. The winners of the conference championship games then played in Ultimus Bowl XXXIX.
