Zayne Dangle (born January 1, 2000) is an American football wide receiver who is currently playing for the Berlin Fire Salamanders. He played college football for the University of Florida (UF) before going 1 OA to the Bondi Beach Buccaneers in the S33 DSFL Draft. He was then drafted 6 OA in the S34 ISFL draft to the Berlin Fire Salamanders.

Early years

Zayne Dangle was born in Dallas, TX and grew up playing football and baseball as a kid. From a young age he enjoyed playing all sports, but football was his favorite. He attended Highland Park High School were he served as captain of the football team his senior year. He played WR and CB both while leading the team to a 5A state title in his junior and senior season. While he didn't break any state records he was garnering plenty of attention. Playing for for one of the best high schools in Dallas lead to him being scouted by teams from all over the country. His dad was a former QB at Texas and his mom was a volleyball player at Alabama. Both recruited him hard throughout his career, but he felt Florida was the best choice for him. Some of his offers included Alabama, Texas, Texas A&M, Florida, Oregon, USC and Ohio State just to name a few.

College career

Dangle had his choice of colleges coming out of high school. He selected Florida over Texas and Alabama. He didn't play his freshman season, but learned a lot and bulked up. Entering his sophmore season he earned a spot in the starting rotation at wide reciever. He had 34 catches for 385 yards and 8 TD's on the season. Florida finished the season 8-4. Going into his junior season he was the number one reciever on the depthchart and was a All SEC preseason selection. He finished the season with 84 catches for 1019 yards and 15 TD's and a Fred Biletnikoff Award finalist. and All SEC selection. After deciding to come back for his senior season Dangle lit up the college football world. He was an All SEC and All American selection while ganering a second Fred Biletnikoff Award selection. He finished the season with 80 catches for 1107 yards and 18 TD's.

S33 Coming in as a rookie, Zayne Dangle and the rest of the Bondi Beach Buccaneers knew they were in the midst of rebuilding, but with the hopes that maybe they would turn heads and surprise people. The season started the with a tough loss to Norfolk 26-27 that really set the tone for the season. Wins over London, Portland and Dallas followed that and the team was sitting at 3-1 and thought that maybe they could pull something amazing off. Dangle accounted for 144, 93 and 79 yards in the three wins and was all the buzz around the league. Sadly, the rest of the season was hit or miss and Dangle really fell off hard. In the second game of the season against Dallas, Dangle only managed 29 yards and was a non factor. The team managed to miss the playoffs, needing to win the last game of the season where they fell flat. It was on to the ISFL draft for Dangle.

S34 After being drafted to Berlin, Dangle was called up immediately to fill a hole at WR3. While the personal expectations weren't high Dangle still expected more from himself. Only wracking up 656 yard and 9 TD's wasn't the start that Dangle wanted to start his career in the big leagues. Meanwhile Berlin had an amazing season going 11-4-1 and losing in the conference finals in a close game to Chicago. Goat Tank and Troy Abed led the team during the unexpected season. Tank ran for 1701 yards and 10 TD's mean while Abed totaled 1204 yards and 7 TD's. Dangle just couldn't get the separation like Abed did. In the coming season we expect to see Berlin fall off hard. Tank is regressing hard and Berlin will be searching to fill holes on defense. Dangle could be a bright spot in what is an aging roster. Expect to see him break out this season and help carry Berlin.

S35 Following a very surprising rookie season the expectations were the same as last season, Berlin was in the midst of a rebuild/retool and we had no idea how the season would turn out. A good guess is always 8-8 and that is exactly what we got. Berlin won games they should and lost the ones they were expected to lose. It was a pretty average season with a very old team that was all willing to give it one more go while the next set of stars in Berlin were about to be drafted and still developing in the DSFL. Dangle moved to the #1 WR spot following the trade of Troy Abed to the Yellowknife Wraiths. It was a good chance to get the experience and prove to his team he could be a the guy going forward. With Bageshwari Singh expected to get the call-up next season it should make for a great season for Dangle.

S36 While S36 wasn't expected to be a huge jump for Berlin. One thing that was going to be exciting for Dangle was being reunited with his DSFL QB in Bageshwari Singh. After lighting it up in Bondi Beach together, both players had not done much since they played together. There was a reason that Berlin moved up to the draft the pair at 6OA and 8OA and that reason was on full display this season. The instant connection had Berlin worrying teams every week that they might upset someone. While that didn't materialize, it wasn't from a lack of trying. The pair combined for over 1300 yards. That was more than 600 yards more than the previous season for Dangle. With a young defense and a scary offense we expect Berlin to grow up very quick before your eyes. Add in a few more offensive weapons and there is no doubt that Berlin will be competing for championships.

S37 S37 was full steam ahead and Zayne Dangle was ready to continue to show he was one of the top wide receivers in the league. Coming off a season where he was top 5 in all major receiving stats, Dangle continued to show out in S37. Dangle wracked up 1437 yards to go along with 10 touchdowns. Berlin would finish the season 5-7 which was a great improvement for a young team looking to continue to be a force. While they fell short of the playoffs there is a lot to be happy with for a young team that is only getting better and better. Dangle found himself winning 2nd team honors following the season although he felt his performance was deserving of 1st team. He said this to say "There was not 3 wideouts that were better than me this season. The committee left their bias get in the way. If I was on one of the big name teams there would be no question."
