Zephyr Tater GreyWolf (born November 5, 2015) is an American football defensive tackle for the Norfolk Seawolves of the Developmental Simulation Football League (DSFL).

Early years

Zephyr was a large greywolf born on a nature preserve. He became the alpha of his pack due to his size and no nonsense attitude. He grew up with his borther Nikai and sister Alawa. while living at the preserve Zephyr learned that getting attention from humans meant getting food. He became known for being a show off among the humans. His life was quiet and peaceful until the day when everything changed for the better. Zephyr was "adopted" by a hockey player and went to live with him in Vancouver. While living among humans Zephyr began training to play hockey. Hockey wasn't as fun as he hoped. Zephyr wasn't able to wear skates and needed to build up foot stregnth to skate on ice. He started to look for a different sport to play while he gets used to skating on ice. After see the movie Air Bud:Golden Retriever Zephyr was inspired to play football.

College career

Zephyr has never played football before and isn't even sure of the rules. He just knows he is allowed to slightly maul the person with the ball. He has learned that throat biting and limb removal is frowned appon but general biting seems to be ok depending on the refs. Football uses many of the same skills that hunting does. Tracking, chasing, taking down, and using your pack to corner prey. Zephyr attended a training camp where he learned some of the rules of football. Zephyr didn't want to be a reciever like the small dog on in the movie. Zephyr wanted to get physical with other players. After some time at the training camp Zephyr decided to become a defensive tackle. He is fast, has large teeth, and is hard to pin down so he is a natural born tackler. He can break through the line quickly and force the quarterback to either ditch the ball or get mauled. sometimes both.

Season 33 Overview

Coming off his rookie season Zephyr GreyWolf started out strong in season 33. This was his second professional season. Still playing Linebacker for the Yellow Knife Wraiths, Zephyr had more aggression and dominance on the field. Zephyr started all 16 games this season instead of the 14 he started last season. while Zephyr did not produce the same disruption in season 33 as he did in season 32 he did still get a lot of work done. Zephyr has less sacks and no fumbles or fumble recoveries but he did double his tackle numbers. This season was less about Zephyrs individual stats and more about what he could do to help the team succeed. The Wraiths were not estimated to do well this season so Zephyr tried to give everything he could to the team in preparation for next season. Zephyr has predicted his own breakout season now that he feels confident his pack is ready.

Season 34 Overview

Building off of season 33’s success Zephyr really started to flourish in season 34. Once again Zephyr started in all 16 games and has become a core part of the Yellowknife defensive unit. This is reflected in Zephyrs stats. Having 12 more tackles than last season, 1 more tackle for loss than last season, 1 additional forced fumble and 2 additional fumble recoveries than last season, and lastly 3 more sacks than last season. Zephyr is all about the sack numbers and while they aren’t where he wants them to be they are getting better with each season in the ISFL. Season 34 also marked the first season Zephyr didn’t lose to Pasta the Turtle in their bet. It came to a draw this season with 2.25 points apiece. Zephyr wanted the win but not losing is still better than previous season. The Wraiths were close to a playoff spot this season but couldn’t make it. A few small things going better could have made the difference. Zephyr is committed to leaving it all out on the field coming into season 35.

Season 35 Overview

After Season 34 Zephyr was on the rise. He was named captain of the Yellowknife Wraiths defense in season 35. Wearing the C for Yellowknife was a real honor for Zephyr. Zephyr took a step back from his own performance to focus on the teams play during this season. Zephyr had 3 less tackles, 3 less tackles for loss, 2 less sacks and 3 more forced fumbles. Zephyr stepping his personal performance back and letting the entire defense work together to lead Yellowknife to an 8-8 season. Season 35 is the first season Yellowknife has made the playoffs since Zephyr has been on the team. It is also the first time Zephyr has seen a playoff game in his career. Unfortunately, Yellowknife made a first-round exit against the Chicago Butcher in a close fought 20-24 game. While this was the first time Zephyr saw a playoff game it most certainly won’t be the last.

Season 39 Overview

Yellowknife was going off in Season 39. Giving up only 13 points in their first 4 games and only 7 touchdowns in their first 10. Yellowknife only allowed 13.8 points per game in season 39. Zephyr was a huge part of that success. The entire defense was a wall but Zephyr was the ballista. Zephyr lead the league in sacks with 19. 3 higher than the next closest player. Zephyr was second in forced fumbles with 5 and second in fumbles recovered with 2. After having such a great season Yellowknife went to the Ultimus against the 2 time returning champions Arizona Outlaws. The Wraiths didn’t give up a single touchdown to the Outlaws. Zephyr was defensive player of the game shutting down the Outlaws with 12 tackles, 2 tfl, 2 sacks, and a forced fumble. Zephyr was feasting on the Outlaws offense having the best game of his season in the most important game of the season.
