The 2042 DSFL Season was the 27th season of the Developmental Simulation Football League and the Dallas Birddogs' 7th season in the league.
The season began on 28 September 2042 with the Dallas Birddogs beating the Tijuana Luchadores 24-17.
The season concluded with the Dallas Birddogs (11-3) beating the Kansas City Coyotes (7-7) 21-23 (and overcoming a 21-7 first half deficit) for the Ultimini XXV.
The Dallas Birddogs had narrowly missed the playoffs the previous season (7-7) but in 2042 saw Sirdsvaldis Miglasķēms lead the DSFL in rushing yards (1,280) and touchdowns (15), Joliet Christ Jr. lead the league in passing touchdowns (21) (and second in passing yards (3,560)) whilst Chunt Badger led the league in receiving yards (1,405). The Birddogs equalled their longest regular season winning streak (7) and enjoyed their best record in franchise history (11-3).

Postseason
The 2042 DSFL playoffs consist of two rounds; with two conference championships – contested by the winners and the second placed team from each conference. The winners of the conference championship games then played in Ultimini XXV.
