Christian Mad Dog Marciano (born January 5, 2029) is an American football quarterback who is currently preparing to enter the professional ranks. He played college football for Concordia University and has declared his intent to enter the professional ranks next season.

Early years

"Christian Marciano was born on May 25th, 2027 in St. Paul, Minnesota to Axton and Georgina Marciano (nee Sveldssen). His parentsts met while attending the University of Minnesota, where Axton was an All-American in the shotput and Georgina made All-Big 18 as a volleyball player.

At a young age, it was apparent that Christian had inherited athletic ability from his parents. According to stories told by friends and family, by the time he was four years old, Christian was able to throw a perfect spiral 10 yards. When Marciano turned eight years old he began playing peewee football, and was already being scouted by local universities, mostly because the teams couldn't believe the legends of a 5 foot 6 inch tall third grader who apparently could throw a nearly-perfect 12 yard out route.

""It was unreal to watch him play against kids who were literally half his size. Normally there are rules against player size and being able to carry the ball in PeeWee Football, but legend is that Christian simply walked into a league meeting once and intimidated all of the parents and coaches into letting him play Quarterback,"" said a PeeWee Coach who wished to remain anonymous.

After dominating the 14 and under circuit in the Twin Cities, Christian attended Cretin-Durham Hall Prepatory Academy in St. Paul, where he helped lead the football team to a perfect regular season in 2043 as well as a berth in the Minnesota State Championship.

During his freshman year of high school, Marciano was offered an athletic scholarship to the University of Minnesota, his parets' alma mater, which he accepted."

College career

"The summer before his senior year of high school at Cretin-Durham, Christian found a way to graduate early so he could enroll early at the University of Minnesota, as many highly-sought recruits do. However, during that spring, the Men's Football Coach, TJ Pleck, was forced to resign after it was discovered that he was funneling money from his apparel deal with Under Armour away from the players and instead to local charities, which was a clear violation of the NCAA's anti-community enrichment policy.

Marciano was at a crossroads. Coach Pleck was the reason he signed on with Minnesota, as he was the first college coach to approach him back in third grade. He decided to withdraw from school, unsure of his future. However, as if by fate, two weeks after withdrawing from the U of M, Chrstian's uncle, Harold Sveldssen, was named the head coach for the Concordia University football team. Concordia is a small college located in St. Paul, MN that plays in the Division III of college football. For them to bring in a recruit of Marciano's (who was regarded as a 5 star recruit coming out of high school) was unheard of.

During his college years, the difference in athletic ability between Marciano and those at opposing schools was apparent. He was two-way player the three years he played for Concordia, playing both Quarterback and Middle Linebacker.

Christian ended his three years in Division 3 as the career leader in passing yards, passing touchdowns, rushing touchdowns, tackles, tackles for loss, and sacks."

DSFL Career

DSFL Draft

After absolutely demolishing the competition while attending Concordia University, Marciano obviously caught the eyes of numerous professional scouts from the Developmental Simulation Football League, a minor league affiliate of the International Simulation Football League who commented on how they had never seen such an obvious mismatch of skills between one player and his competition. Heading into the Season 32 DSFL Draft, there was speculation that Marciano might slide out of the first round after he announced at a pre-draft press conference that he had been known to drink alcohol as a minor on numerous occasions.

Mere hours before the draft started, Marciano released a public statement through his agent: "It was wrong of me to advertise my affinity for kicking back with a sixer when I am not yet of legal drinking age. It was irresponsible of me, as a public figure and role model for children, to be so cavalier about underage alcohol consumption. However, if any of the teams out there fear that my drinking habits will in any way interfere with my ability to play the game, I am here to tell you that they will not. For the record, I was hungover for every single home game during my career at Concordia, and I still set every single Division III passing record."

Unimpressed by his so-called "apology" many DSFL teams decided to pass on Marciano, who many experts named as far and away the best prospect the DSFL had ever seen.

Marciano did not end up sliding out of the first round however, as he was selected with the final pick in the first round (eighth overall) by the defending Ultimini Champions, the Dallas Birddogs who were in need of a new Quarterback after the departure of Ricky Stanzi.

Season 32

Season 32 for the Birddogs started off not as they had hoped, with Dallas losing on the road to the Tijuana Luchadores 49-31 in the first contest of the season. Marciano, however, did his part to keep the team competitive, completing 25 out of 45 passes for 353 yards and two touchdowns, with one interception. This was the beginning of a pattern for Dallas's year, as the offense finished in the top half of the DSFL in points and yards but the defense struggled to stop anyone.

Marciano showed promise throughout the season as a rookie signal caller, with his top performance coming in Week 14 when he shredded the London Royals for 241 yards, four touchdowns, and one interception, en route to a 45-24 win for Dallas. That win, however, was one of the few highlights of the season for Dallas, as the team stumbled to a 4-10 record, the third-least win total in the league for Season 32. Marciano did what he could, ending the season with a respectable stat line of 288 completions for 3387 yards and 21 touchdowns. For his efforts, he was nominated for both Quarterback of the Year and Offensive Rookie of the Year.

Season 33

While Marciano was projected to be a mid-to-late first round pick in the Season 33 ISFL Draft, many experts and draft pundits were surprised to see him slide out of the first round completely. Christian was selected by the Philadelphia Liberty with the first pick in the second round (15th overall). When interviewed following the pick, he showed a level of modesty which he was not known for, stating, "I'm disappointed not to be a first round selection, but my performance on the field this past season showed that I wasn't worthy of it. I wasn't ready for the speed of the game at this level, and I'm grateful that the Liberty decided to take a chance on me when they did."

Marciano was sent back down to Dallas for the season, where he reassumed his spot as the starting signal caller for the Birddogs. The season started out on a high note for Dallas, upsetting their division rivals the Tijuana Luchadores in Tijuana the first game of the season, by a score of 20-17. Week 1 was, unfortunately, one of the highest points for Dallas in Season 33, however, as they stumbled their way to a 5-9 record, the worst in the South Division. Marciano was asked to do less in Season 33 as the Birddogs had lost their top Wideout, Escanor Sama, to a callup, and the team had brought in two new rookie Running Backs in Rumble Ronson and Orange Justice.

Christian finished Season 33 throwing the second-least pass attempts of all starting Quarterbacks in the DSFL, and amassed a fairly pedestrian stat line of 3,059 passing yards, 17 touchdowns, and 13 interceptions.

Season 34

Heading into Season 34, expectations were high for Marciano in Dallas. Now in his third season under center, coaches and fans alike had high hopes for the Mad Dog, believing he could get the Birddogs back into the playoffs. Team management decided that in order to bounce back that they needed to supply Marciano with more weapons on offense, and in the Season 34 draft they drafted Wide Receiver Leek Mai-Heinous, Running Back Kumquat Archipelago, and Tight End Waluigi Gronkowski. The three new options quickly adapted to the Birddogs' scheme and both Gronkowski and Mai-Heinous favorite targets of Marciano, and the Dallas offense finished the season leading the entire DSFL in yards and points, while Marciano finished second in passing yards and first in passing touchdowns.

Even with the high-powered offense, Dallas still stumbled a bit to a 6-8 record, but thanks to winning the head-to-head tiebreaker with the Bondi Beach Buccaneers, Dallas snuck into the DSFL playoffs. Their reward for the season was a first round matchup against the 10-4 Tijuana Luchadores, who swept the Birddogs in the regular season by a combined score over two games of 98-51. When asked about the upcoming game against their rivals, Marciano replied, "We aren't scared of them. Everything that happened during the regular season is irrelevant now."

Scoring possibly the biggest upset in the DSFL playoffs since Season 25, the Birddogs fought a defensive battle with the Luchadores and eventually won on a 42 yard touchdown strike by Marciano to Derrick Armstrong, sending the Birddogs to the Ultimini.

Marciano bounced back from his disappointing game against the Luchadores with possibly the best performance of his career, on the biggest stage. The Birddogs led from whistle to whistle against the Minnesota Grey Ducks, and Marciano torched the defense for 288 yards and 4 touchdowns, and a QB rating of 123.3.

For his performance during Season 34, Christian Marciano was named DSFL Quarterback of the Year and Most Valuable Player.

ISFL Career

Season 35

Heading into the 35th season of the ISFL, Marciano was finally given the news that he would be called up from Dallas and be playing for Philadelphia full time. However, there were rumblings of concerns from Liberty management that Marciano may have celebrated a little too hard over his Ultimini and MVP award, as rumors of his ballooning body composition began to swirl. Unfortunately, the rumors were confirmed when he showed up to training camp having put on over 100 pounds in only a short few months. Liberty management had one question on their minds: can we field a 345 pound Quarterback and be successful?

When asked about his drastically different physique, Marciano was defiant, stating, "It doesn't matter if I weigh 100 pounds or 400 pounds - I'm still the baddest man out on that field. There's a reason they call me Mad Dog!"

Citing his time playing as a Middle Linebacker in college, the team and Marciano decided to use his new body shape to their advantage and started playing him as a Defensive Tackle, to take over for the aging Honky-Tonk Haywood. From the first snap in preseason, Marciano showed a natural ability as a defensive lineman and an innate sense of how to use his size to his advantage, as he would sometimes take the attention of three blockers, freeing up his fellow defensive linemen to make plays.

Compared to his successes in the DSFL, Marciano's performance during his rookie campaign was pedestrian. However, the Liberty defense improved substantially with him on the field as the team's record increased from 6-9-1 in S34 to 8-8 in S35. The defense improved in both points and yards allowed, finishing 4th and 6th in the league, respectively. On his new role on the team, Marciano was humble and excited. "It's great to just be out there with the team making a difference. My personal numbers were not amazing, but we still finished with a respectable record, which was great considering heading into the season so many talking heads picked us to be cellar-dwellers."

Season 36

After a full season playing at his new position and an off-season to fully prepare and get into better playing shape, Marciano came into training camp before Season 36 looking like a true Defensive Tackle. His new body shape and visibly stronger technique turned a lot of heads as he consistently dominated blockers in drills, and blew up play after play in the backfield.

"Last season was a let down for me, personally," Marciano told reporters. " After an entire life playing sports where I've done nothing but dominate, to turn in a stinker of a season like I did as a rookie stung. That's why I refocused and went all-in on this new position. You are all in for a special treat this season with me on the field."

Once again, the Liberty were picked to finish at the bottom of the NSFC, as they brought in a lot of new talent, including a rookie Quarterback. The team defied expectations early on as they raced to a 4-0 record, best in the league at the quarter mark. Unfortunately, the run couldn't last, as the Liberty went 4-8 over their final twelve games, and finished with a record of 8-8, barely missing out on the playoffs.

Marciano did his part to make the defense better, as he amassed 76 tackles, 8 tackles for loss, 9 sacks and forced 4 fumbles. For his efforts, he was voted to the First Team of the ISFL All-Pro Team. "This means a lot to me to be honored in this way. I'm putting the league on notice. This is the last time you'll see the Mad Dog on the All-Pro Team, and I won't stop until I'm Defensive Player of the Year!"
