Speed Hawk (born April 1, 2040) is an American football linebacker for the Bondi Beach Buccaneers of the Developmental Simulation Football League (DSFL).

Early years

Speed Hawk was born in Melbourne, Australia. His father was a US Air force pilot on a tour in Australia and his mother was an Australian Olympic 10k runner. After his father's tour was finished, the family moved back to the USA, to Ohio, when Speed was 3 and he was quickly enthralled with the sport of football. He watched it from a young age on the TV with his father and as soon as he was old enough to start playing, he showed the potential that he had. Originally he played at Running Back due to his athleticism and need to be involved in the game as much as possible. In High School he seemed a fairly promising player still on a middling team but he truly took off as a player when one of his coaches asked him to play on the other side of the ball, at Linebacker for a couple of training sessions. It was clear this was the true calling of Speed as he had a real nose for the ball and where plays were going. Between his athleticism and football instincts, he set the area record for TFLs in a season and quickly became one of the premium prospects for colleges across the country.

College career

Speed Hawk got a full scholarship to the University of Alabama as one of the brightest Linebacker recruits in the country. From the time he arrived at Alabama, he was widely pipped to become a key leader in the defence from early on. However his Freshman year, Speed Hawk struggled to get up to speed with the defence. After starting the first 2 games of the season and only managing 3 tackles between them, Speed Hawk spent most of the rest of the season on the bench. While he has relied on his instincts and athleticism throughout much of High School, the intricacies of the position were still a shortcoming of his and he had to spend much of the season in the film room learning. He would eventually play in the last 2 games of the regular season to much greater success, 8 tackles and 2 sacks between the game but did not feature in the college playoffs. His sophmore season was when he began to take off as a leader of the defence as he put up 12 sacks and the league high 120 tackles as Alabama made the playoffs. They would go on to lose the National championship to Michigan but it was clear to all who watched that Speed Hawk would have a career ahead of him in the big leagues. His Junior season was cut short by an ACL injury but was healed in time for Speed Hawk to declare for the upcoming DSFL draft.

DSFL Career

Speed Hawk was drafted by the Bondi Beach Buccaneers in the 4th round of the S46 DSFL Draft. Speed Hawk was back in his home country and put up a stellar performance as a first year player. His 105 tackles was 2nd highest in the league and 9 sacks was tied for third highest. He was nominated for DSFL Defensive Rookie of the year and finished as the runner up behind excellent Tijuana LB K.C. Gordon before his sad retirement. While he had a good year stats wise, he couldn't quite put in the performances to win Bondi Beach more games as they only managed a 6-8 record and missed out on playoffs by a game. While he was happy with his transition to the DSFL, Speed Hawk felt he still had more to give and was looking forward to hopefully returning to the Beach for another season. He declared for the ISFL draft and was a hot prospect coming into the draft

ISFL Career

Speed Hawk was drafted with the #19 overall pick to the New York Silverbacks. He looked forward to following in the footsteps of previous NYS LBs like Teemo Swift, and learning from one of the leagues top LBs in Dub Redd. However with the talent on offer, he was granted his wish at another season back with the Buccaneers.
