Bageshwari Singh (born November 29, 2028) is an American football quarterback for the Bondi Beach Buccaneers of the Developmental Simulation Football League (DSFL). He played college football for the Chicago Maroons for four seasons before being claimed off waivers by the Bondi Beach Buccaneers in 2048 and drafted by them the next season in the 3rd round with pick 17 of the Season 33 DSFL Draft.

Early years

Bageshwari Singh was born in Varanasi, India where growing up he had never heard of the sport of American football. Throughout his childhood his main focus was on his academics, which he excelled at, while Bageshwari always had a passion for sports his parents always made sure his education remained his priority instead. He would often have to sneak away from home to be able to go play soccer or cricket with his friends throughout primary school. After finishing secondary school in India, Singh had an opportunity to apply for an academic scholarship overseas in America. This scholarship through The Rockefeller Foundation was very hard to get, only a couple international students would receive it every year. Bageshwari worked hard however and received the scholarship and used it to attend the University of Chicago in America. Bageshwari arrived in downtown Chicago a few months before his school started to settle into his new environment and immediately fell in love with the city. The culture and big skyscrapers were a big change from his hometown but he loved every bit of it. One of the few things he learned before his first year started was about American football. Chicago was a big football city with the Chicago Bears of the NFL and Chicago Butchers of the ISFL both being big.

College career

Bageshwari being new to the sport of American football didn't know where to begin to pursue his newfound passion, the most experience he had throwing a ball was bowling in cricket. However the Chicago Maroons football not being a big football school, being in division III held open try outs early in the semester and Bageshwari found his chance. Being new to football altogether Bageshwari didn't have much of the technique down but his arm immediately caught the eye of Kyle Derickson, the team's offensive coordinator who saw glimmer of potential in Singh. Bageshwari got an invite to the team however spent his freshman year redshirted as he learned the playbook and more of the fundamentals of the sport. During Singh's sophomore season he was promoted to the the primary backup QB of the team. While he didn't get a lot of playing time, he still got his first action of real football this season when he came in for the last game of the season due to an injury to the starting QB and shined leading the Maroons to a come from behind win. Going into his Junior season Bageshwari was given the opportunity to win the starting QB job in camp, he had shown great development from when he first joined the team and ended up winning the job and getting his first full season as a starter. The team around him struggled at first but eventually Bageshwari put division III football on notice with his first season, leading the Maroons to their first Midwest Conference Championship in decades, the team would end up losing in the semifinals of the playoffs however. Singh ended up dominating the lower competition at DIII football and had the opportunity to transfer into the B1G the following season, but he decided to stay at UChicago to finish his degree before further pursuing his athletic career. His senior season of football went even better than the previous season, Maroons went undefeated and made the DIII Championship game against the Mount Union Purple Raiders where Singh went on to have the best performance of his colligate career. Singh passed for 553 yards, 7 TDs, 1 INT, while completing 73% of his passes and rushed for an additional 68 yards in a blowout 56-8 title game.

2047 (S32)

Prior to Week 11 of the DSFL season the Bondi Beach Buccaneers picked up Bageshwari Singh off waivers. The team already had an established quarterback in Tron Carter, who was into his fourth season as the team's starting QB. This gave Singh a chance to learn behind an established DSFL veteran, although it meant he would not get much playtime in his waiver eligible season before the S33 DSFL Draft. However, Singh who sat as a backup in his first two season of college ball was enthusiastic for the chance to learn more as he was still very new to the sport of football despite his dominance in Division III. In his first two games with the team he didn't see a snap of action watching from the sidelines as the Buccaneers lost to the London Royals and Kansas City Coyotes 39-21 and 44-10 respectfully. In Week 13 Singh saw his first snaps of action, subbing in for Carter in the midst of a 52-13 blowout to the Tijuana Luchadores. Bageshwari only got 2 pass attempts but completed both of them for a total of 31 yards. In the final game of the season the Buccaneers found themselves in another blowout, this time down 40-16 to the Minnesota Grey Ducks so once again Singh entered the game. This time he completed 4/5 of his passes for 30 yards, capping off his waiver season with 6/7 for 61 yards total. Underwhelming overall due to the lack of playtime but he showed flashes of potential when he entered games and learned plenty from his teammates in Bondi Beach.

2048 (S33)

In the 3rd round with pick 17 of the Season 33 DSFL Draft the Bondi Beach Buccaneers selected Bageshwari Singh in a stacked draft class return to the team. With Tron Carter graduating to the ISFL to join the Sarasota Sailfish, the reigns of the starting Quaterback of the franchise. Singh had a solid preseason winning 3 of the 4 games while completing 80/153 (52.3%) of his passes for 905 YDS, 8 TD, 3 INT, giving him a total passer rating of 79.56. Things were looking up for the Buccaneers coming off a 3-11 season, this draft class was looking to give the Bondi a boost back into contention. After losing a close season opener to the Norfolk Seawolves the Bucs went on to win 3 in a row to start the season 3-1. The team then hit a wall losing their next 3 games and continued to play streaky having another 3 game win streak but ending the season on back to back losses to end the season 7-7. This record was good to tie for 2nd in the South, however, the Norfolk Seawolves held the tiebreaker over the Bondi Beach Buccaneers meaning they just barely missed out on the playoffs. Singh's season overall was ok but left plenty of room for improvement. Singh completed 290/513 of his passes for 3,691 yards with a league best 22-5 TD-INT ratio and an overall passer rating of 89.4 on the season.
