Octavio Pérez (born March 26, 2025) is an American football wide receiver who is currently preparing to enter the professional ranks. He played college football for University of Missouri and has declared his intent to enter the professional ranks next season.

Early years

"Octavio Pérez was born in Maastricht, the Netherlands to father Esteban Pérez and mother Babette Heesbeen-Pérez. Octavio is half Costa Rican on his fathers side and half dutch on his mothers side. His parents met each other at the University of Amsterdam while attending the university as students. His father Esteban works as an economic researcher for The ING Bank Group. His mother Babette is a retired professional field hockey player, who currently works as a sports psychologist.

Growing up in the Netherlands Octavio’s sporting career began with soccer. His parents signed him up for a local football team when he was 6 and he played the sport until he turned 11. Growing tired of soccer, he looked into other sports and fell in love with American Football. He started out playing for the Maastricht Wildcats flag football team, until he moved up to tackle football. At a young age he garnered quite some attention and eventually was approached by the head of youth development at the Cologne Centurions and was invited for a tryout. He was accepted into the program and at the age of 16 moved to Cologne by himself. Here he would stay with a host family, follow his high school courses and train with the Centurions. As he kept improving with the Centurions he believed he had the chance to become a player in the ISFL. Pérez sought a sports scholarship at an American College.

College career

Showing a lot of promise, a few colleges were willing to stick out their necks and bring in this European player. Out of the offers he received, Pérez would accept that of the University of Missouri. Becoming a member of the Missouri Tigers. With no high school stats to show for himself as he joined the team. Pérez was put on a spot to really have to prove himself as being a worthy part of the team.

Freshman Season

Entering the season it became clear that Pérez was not yet developed enough to play a role in the team. The skill and heart were there, but his size was lacking and the wide receiving corps at MU was pretty stacked. Towards the end of the season Pérez was more accustomed to being in America, playing in a more demanding and skillful competition. As such he was used in three games, starting in two of these matches. He would receive 5 passes for 47 yards. The team would go 1-2 in the games Pérez played and ended the season with a 5-7 record.

Sophomore Season

Entering his second season with the team, Pérez shot up the depth chart to the 2nd string wide receiver. Two seniors had graduated, one junior transferred to Akron and Pérez had shown a lot of promise coming into this season. A Standout performance for Pérez came in week 6 against Wake Forest where he received 7 passes for 96 yards and two touchdowns in a 38-12 win. The Tigers went 9-3 this season and played in the Yodel Kid Memorial Bowl against LSU. They ended up losing the match 24-30. Pérez had 4 receptions that game for 63 yards and scored one touchdown.

Junior Season

Heading into the junior season Pérez was promoted to the number one receiving target. A big responsibility which he took with both hands. Due to his passion shown in the game he was also named as the offensive assistant captain. Pérez helped the Tigers to a 9-0 start, but their invincible season was ended by Texas A&M in a bad 14-42 home defeat. The Tigers would end the season 11-1, before losing once again to Texas A&M in the conference semifinals, in a much closer 24-28 contest.

Senior Season

In his final season with the Tigers, Pérez was named as the offensive captain. The Tigers star QB graduated the season before and with a sophomore QB the offense struggled a bit. This would show in an early 1-3 record. The Tigers fought hard to claw their way back to a 8-4 season, good enough to make the Tony Rigatoni Bowl game against the Arizona Wildcats. They would win this game 42-17, with Pérez going 8 receptions for 142 yards with two touchdowns.

Professional career/DSFL

S34

Octavio Pérez's career began after the S34 trade deadline when he was placed on DSFL waivers. He would be picked up by the Kansas City Coyotes where he would play for the rest of the S34 season. His first time on the field would be the week 11 match up when the Coyotes visited the Norfolk Seawolves, Pérez would not start the game. However would get a shot later on in the game and caught one pass for 9 yards. The Coyotes would end up winning the game 35 to 13. The next game, week 12 Coyotes visiting Bondi Beach Buccaneers would see Pérez starting his first game. He would gather 6 receptions for 34 yards with a long of 11. The final scoreline was 24-23 in favour of the Coyotes. In the week 13 match at home against the Dallas Birddogs Pérez would catch 3 passes for 60 yards with a long of 35.

S35

After the S34 season concluded, Pérez said his farewell to Kansas City and started focusing on the upcoming draft. Mock drafts had Pérez all over the place, from first rounds to fourth rounds. It was going to be very interesting draft for the young Pérez. Once the draft day came, Octavio waited 21 picks before hearing his name, Round 3, Pick 21. He was drafted by non other than his waiver season team the Kansas City Coyotes. S35 would prove a good season for the Coyotes as they drafted four of the S36 classes top Wide Receivers. The Coyotes would finish the season 8-6, with stand out preformances in week 3 (42-17 @Minnesota) and Week 5 (49-12 vs Bondi Beach Buccaneers). This week 5 game would aos be a standout game for Pérez as he went 100 yards on 4 catches with 1 touchdown. The coyotes would make the playoffs and with a win way over the Portland Pythons (34-30) made the finals. In a nail biter gamer against the Seawolves, the Coyotes would come short with a 14-23 scoreline. Pérez would have a quiet playofsf with 7 catches for 62 yards.

S36

During the offseason Octavio Pérez was drafted 18th overall in the S36 ISFL draft by the Honolulu Hahalua. He would be sent back down to the DSFL to keep honing his skills with the Kansas City Coyotes. Coming off a tough loss in the playoff finals in S35, the Coyotes were looking to come with redemption. Sadly the season would not start off great for the Coyotes. Going 0-3 in their first 3 games. The next 3 games saw them winning two of them, before losing the following three games. They ended the season with one win, 2 losses, followed by two wins to finish off the season. The Coyotes would finish last in their conference with a 5-9 record. Missing the playoffs. Octavio Pérez would have a great season, no longer having to share the wide receiver spot with 3 other wide receivers. In 14 games Pérez recorded, 1236 yards (5th in the league), 11 touchdowns (3rd in the league) on 81 catches for an average of 15.3 yards per catch.

Professional career/ISFL

S37

After spending one send down season in the DSFL, Pérez was called up to Honolulu for their S37 campaign. Honolulu had just come off their back to back ultimus wins and we're strenghtening up to compete for another cup, the elusive back-to-back-to-back. Pérez's and Honolulu's preformance were quite in synch during the early stages of the season. 'Inconcistant and underwhelming' would have to be how it to describe it. Pérez had a couple of games where he was more involved and ran decent yardage and then games in which he got 1 catch and ran for just a couple yards. Despite all of this, Honolulu was 4-2 after the first 6 games. They and Pérez would go on in week 7 to have a brilliant game winning 28-10 away at the CHicago Butchers. Pérez played a massive role in the offense going 6 catches for 106 yards and recording his first ISFL touchdown. His second and final touchdown of the season would come in week 12 in a 29-24 win over the San Jose Sabercats. After this game the team would be 8-4, but losing the next 3 and winning the final game of the season. Finishing with a 9-7 record. Pérez would finish the season with 50 catches for 585 yards with 2 touchdowns.

S38

Heading into the S38 season it became apparent that after being competetive for years and winning multiple Ultimus in those years the Hahalua were going to go for a complete blowup of the team and do a rebuild. Despite being a young piece to the team Pérez was put on the trading block heading into the S38 draft. It was here that a trade involving Pérez was announced. Honolulu traded away their 23rd oa pick in the S38 draft together with Pérez and HON S40 R4's pick for Berlin's S39 Round 1 pick and S40 Round 3 pick. So Pérez would make Berlin his new home. In Berlin he would have to fill a big role right away as one of the top two wide receivers in Berlin. The Fire Salamanders who were projected to have a poor to decent season actually had an amazing season. Predicted by many to finish outside of the playoffs around 5th in the division, the FIre Salamanders stormed the NSFC and finished as the number one seed with a 10-6 record ahead of the Yellowknife Wraiths who also finished 10-6. With home field advantage they took care of the Wraiths in the conference final. Winning the game in overtime with a 27-24 scoreline. They would end up falling short in the Ultimus final against the Outlaws. Losing 23-21, despite two late touchdown from Pérez in the fourth quarter.

S39

After an impressive, unexpected run to the final with a young Berlin Fire Salamander team, S39 proved to be a bigger challenge for Pérez and his Fire Salamanders. The season started out with an away loss against the Yellowknife Wraiths, who proved to be the best team this season and a win at home againmst the Baltimore Hawks. A 1-1 start would be followed up with 3 loses. Pérez would record 4 touchdowns in this run, with a stand out game in the 32-28 loss at home against the Cape Town Crush. 4 catches for 102 yards, an average of 25.5 yards per catch, with those 2 touchdowns was not enough for Berlin in this game. They would win the next game improving their record to 2-4, before they went on to lose the next 3 games. Pérez would record 100+ yards and a touchdown in two of the three lost games. The season would finish off with 2 more wins and 5 losses for a record of 4-12. Pérez' stand out game in this stretch was the week 13 away lose against the Baltimore Hawks of 20-30. Pérez would catch 9 catches for 159 yards, an average of 17.7, he did not record a touchdown in this game. His final scoreline for the season ended up being 85 catches for 1201 yards, a 14.1 yard average with a long of 70 and 9 touchdowns. He would lead the Berlin Fire Salamander in receiving stats and finish just outside of the top 10 receiving yards, 11th overall.

S40

Coming off a disappointing 4-12 season, just one season after going to the ultimus finals, Berlin was looking to bounce back big time. The relatively young squad, was only growing and gaining experience and it was time to show what they were made of. They started off the season away against the Honolulu Hahalua, a game against Pérez' old team. Pérez decided to give people a bit of a show and was the main target of the Fire Salamanders. He caught 8 catches for 76 yards, an average of 9.5 yard per catch, but was able to score 2 touchdowns, one early on to give Berlin the league and another one late in the game to make it 43-10 for Berlin. They would end up winning the game 43-24. What followed can only be described as heartbreak as Berlin went on a 6 game losing streak, before tying a game in week 8 at home against the Orange County Otters. Pérez had a relatively poor showing only getting 4 TD's over this 7 game stretch, with 2 in the week 7 match up in Colorado. Over their next 4 games they would go 3-1. Perez having a low impact only recording 145 yards and 0 touchdowns.

A change of scenary was needed for Pérez and after a trade request at the trade deadline he would be traded to the Chicago Butchers to end the season. In his first game as a Butcher Pérez would only record 28 yards on 4 catches, but would score the final touchdown of the game, which resulted in a 21-10 home win against fellow playoff hunting team Sarasota. Pérez would fail to score a touchdown in the final 3 games of the season, but would record 297 yards on 20 catches for a yard average of 14.85 yards per catch. The butchers would win 3 of their 4 games, losing in the final week in Cape Town against the Crash. This would see them lose their first seed to the Yellowknife Wraiths who also finished 12-4, but beat Chicago twice that year.

In the NSFC wild card game, the Butchers got revenge against the Crash beating them 31-20. Pérez would against have a quiet game, catching 6 passes, but only recording 42 yards. They would face the Wraiths in the conference finals, but the Butchers were quite easily beat 33-17, after being tied 10-10 early in the second. Pérez would record 8 catches, for only 52 yards.

Over the full season Pérez would finished 13th in yards with 1142 on 84 catches, an average of 13.6 yards per catch and score 7 touchdowns.

S41

Octavio Pérez would head into the S41 offseason as a free agent and gather quite a lot of attention, as most teams in the league were trying to get him to sign for them. Heading into signing day, Pérez's agent confirmed Pérez was deciding between a final set of 4 teams, before at the end of the day announcing that Pérez would be returning back to Honolulu.

Honolulu who had just come off a 5-11 season after their winless season, one season prior. Were looking to bring in some serious firepower to propel their rebuild into the following stage and with Pérez as their new wide receiver the team would start the season with a 7 game winning streak. Having already beat the win record from the previous season, the Hahalua were already looking to secure themselves playoffs. The second half of the season would be a bit more turbulent for Pérez and the Hahalua as they would end up losing 3 of the next 4 games, before a 3 game winning spree, following by losing the final two games of the season. However their 11-5 record was good enough to secure the first seed in the ASFC and saw them take on the Arizona Outlaws in the conference final. In a dissapointing game the Hahalua were beaten 20-43 and looked on how in the finals the Crash would end up beating the Outlaws.

Pérez would finish the season 12th in receiving yards with 1096 yards and 2nd in touchdowns with 11 on the year.

S42

After a solid previous season the young Honolulu Hahalua were looking to continue their way up to the top. Their goal would be to hang onto the first seed in the conference. With a 20-19 win over the Arizona Outlaws away in Arizona week 1, the Hahalau made a statement. However they were brought back to reality when they lost away to Austin in week 2. They would win the following three games, before losing to the Cape Town Crush in week 6. After going on another three game winning streak the Hahalua woul have a 7-2 record after 9 games. Looking to be in the pole position to finish top in the conference, the young squad hit a kink in the road. A week 10 loss to Baltimore on the road, would be following up with the Hahalua going 3-3 in the final six games of the season. Finishing with a 10-6 record and finishing 3rd in the conference with a tie breaker over the Austin Copperheads.

Pérez would experience one of his worse seasons to date, starting the season very slow and only coming into his groove towards the end of the season. Barely finsihing in the top 25 for receiving yards, a big drop off from his usual hovering around top 10. With 4 touchdowns Pérez also just had a bad time in the end zone. He would not have many good games, but his standout performance came in week 12 in a 17-35 home loss to the Arizona Outlaws, Pérez would record 121 yards on 5 catches and record 1 touchdown.

S43

Trying to bounce back after a bad season, Pérez would start the season looking older than he had previously, but absolutely not showing that in his skills. Which he showed in the first game of the season, in a 23-28 away loss, Pérez recorded 95 yards on 8 catches with a touchdown. Another standout game was in the week 3 away loss to the Arizona Outlaws in which he recorded 100 yards on 8 catches. However these games were just the standouts in many poor preformances from Pérez. Which might be reflected in the Hahalua's preformance in general. The team would start the season 2-6 after 8 games. With Pérez's best games mostly coming in the Hahalua's losses, having a 115 yard on 6 catches game with a touchdown in the week 8 23-24 loss to the Wraiths away from home. Another great performance came in the week 11 home lose against the Baltimore Hawks, where Pérez recorded 127 yards on 7 catches with touchdowns.

Finishing out the season 8-8, the Hahalua battled their way back in the playoffs after a horrible start. In the ASFC wild card game they would face the Arizona Outlaws in Arizona. Which ended up being another tight lose for the team as they went down 27-32, in a subpar preformance from Pérez recorded 55 yards on 7 catches.

S44

Heading into the new season, Pérez and the Honolulu Hahalua were on a mission. After an 8-8 season and a wild card playoff loss, this was the season to show the league just what they had in store. However the start of the season would not be the best for the Hahalua. Going 1-2 in the first three games of the season, a 9-18 defensive game against the Copperheads in week 1, a good 34-14 game against the struggling New Orleans Second line and a tight 19-24 loss in New York against the Silverbacks. With a 94 yard game in Austin and his only touchdown in the New Orleans game, the season also wasn't kind to Pérez so far. However his and the teams fortune would turn around as they went on a 7 game win streak to go 8-2 after the first ten games. Pérez had a mixed bag of games in this strech. He would end up being good for 4 touchdowns, 2 coming in a tight 28-31 win in Orange County. He would record 4 games below 45 receiving yards, but would have a stand out 123 yards in a 7-43 thumping of the San Jose Sabercats. Honolulu would finish off the season decent, going 4-2, which was good for a 12-4 record on the year, as well as being enough to secure the first seed in the playoffs. Again Pérez would not impress to much in these games, besides one cracking game in a 30-59 offensive blowout game against the Second Line. In this game Pérez would record 169 yards an 3 touchdowns. With this game he would tie two game records for the Hahalua. Tying Eleven Kendrick-Watts 169 yard game in week 11 of season 34 and Jed Podolak's 3 touch down game he had against the Outlaws in week 14 of season 27.

Going into the playoffs, the Hahalua would have a BYE into the conference finals where they would meet the 11-5 New York Silverbacks who beat the Copperheads 27-24 in the wild card match. In a defensive showcase Honolulu would end up clutching out a win, winning the game 19-16 on the foot of a final second Ray Baker field goal to break the stalemate. With 27 yards on 4 catches, Pérez contributed little in the game. The final would see Honolulu take on the Cape Town Crash, who had finished the season with a 13-3 record. In what can only be described as one of the best ultimus finals of all time, the Hahalua and Crash kept trading blows, with the lead being traded multitple times. Heading into the last 2 minutes the game was tied at 36-36, this is when Pérez catch a great pass from Montagne to go for 21 yards and score himself a touch down. As the clock slowly ticked down, it became more clear and clear that this would be the game winning pass. In a 36-43 match the Honolulu Hahalua would win their 4th Ultimus and for Pérez this would be his first ring.

S45

Coming off an ultimus winning season the Honolulu Hahalua and Octavio Pérez were on the hunt to repeat. At the start of training camp Pérez once again looked ever so older. The season started indifferent for the Hahalua, going 5-3 in the first 8 games. Which included home losses to the Outlaws and Sabercats, as well as an away loss against the Second Line. There was a mixed bag of games for Pérez, but the stand out performance in this stretch was a 106 yard game with 2 touchdowns in a 24-38 win over the Otters in Orange County. The Hahalua would end the season convincinly with a 6-2 record with tough losses away to the Sailfish and the Copperheads. Before two dissapointing games in week 15 and 16, Pérez had a pop off game in a week 14 34-10 win over the Yeti in Honolulu. Pérez would record 123 yards on 5 catches and score 2 touch downs.

With a 11-5 record the Honolulu would finish first in the conference and first overall in the league. The Hahalua would face the Austin Copperheads who beat the Outlaws in the Wild Card round. In a tightly contested game the Hahalua would end up losing 35-42 and miss out on going back to back.
