Jay Cue III (born February 28, 2036) is an American football Quarterback of the International Simulation Football League (ISFL), currently playing for the Austin Copperheads.

Early years

Jay Cue Jr. was born in Porto, Portugal. Son of former ISFL QB Legend Jay Cue, Cue III pretty much followed his father footsteps. This means he spent most of his childhood in Phoenix, AZ, watching his father play for the Arizona Outlaws. This brought up his interest in the game and especially in the QB position, where Cue Sr. showed him the ropes, like throwing a great spiral, finding the open receiver and fumbling the ball like no other. Classic stuff really by the Cue family. But after a while, Cue III embarked in a new journey. Right from an early age everyone recognized him as a very smart individual, top of his class. So not only he was good at sports, but also at studies. This being confirmed, he was enrolled in the Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology, in Alexandria, VA, about 2300 miles away from home. This is where he got his first taste of competitive football, with the TJHSST Colonials. He lead the team to very good seasons, earning him a reputation for being a cold blooded QB, imune to pressure. As one of the top QB recruits, he got offered a few scholarships by Division 1 Teams all over the country. With every beat reporter wondering if he would go to Georgia, Alabama or to his father Alma Mater, Oregon, Cue III surprised the world when he announced he would be going travelling to Boston and to Harvard College, firstly to become a Doctor of Juridical Science at their Law School, and then to play for the Harvard Crimson.

College career

With his main focus on studies, like most of his fellow athlete teammates, the Harvard Crimson managed to still have pretty decent seasons under Cue III. A 8-2 record with Cue as a true freshman (5-2 in the conference), followed by a 9-1 on the next season (7-0 in the conference), where they got to be ranked as highly as 15th in the AP Polls at a certain point. Cue III managed to concile his academic and athletic proficiency, excelling at both aspects. The fact that he remains top of his class, while being a locker room leader for the Harvard Crimson, makes him a highly sought after prospect, as everyone in the athletics department know that he is extremely quick at reading the game, adjusting his play and helping at the improvement of the team playbooks. At the same time he is extremely competitive and demanding, always striving for his and his teammates best. This earned him the nickname of Jay "The Judge" Cue III. Nobody doubts that he will become one eventually, while being a successful football player.

After his second season, he decided to leave college early, declaring for the DSFL draft, while still going to classes for the completion of his Law Degree.

Professional career

2057 DSFL Season (S41)

After deciding to just try his luck by joining the league in Season 41, Jay Cue III got picked in the waiver wire by the Portland Pythons. While on the team, he did not play a single snap in Season 41.

2057 DSFL Season (S42)

Coming into the Season 42 DSFL draft, it was no surprise to anyone that Portland, after having him on the roster for the second part of Season 41 to learn the ropes, wanted Cue III on their team for the future. And with many predicting it in mock drafts, Cue III was indeed drafted to the Pythons with their 2nd rounder, making him the 11th Overall player in the draft. Season 42 then marked the beginning of the Jay Cue III era in Portland. And it definitely was not a great start for his career as the starting Quarterback for the Pythons. The team ended with an abysmal 4 - 10 record, making them 3rd in the North Conference, with the same record as the last placed London Royals, so no playoff berth was achieved. While the team was not considered to be one of the best in the DSFL, the fact that Cue presented only mediocre numbers helped in this outcome for sure. He managed to throw for quite a few yards, with 3403, but his TD - INT ratio was very poor, with 19 - 16, for a 78.8 QB rating, worst in the league for starting QBs. Hopefully he can perform better in S43, helping his team in their quest to return to the DSFL Playoffs.

2058 DSFL Season (S43)

Entering the 43rd ISFL Season, Jay Cue III entered the ISFL as one of the most coveted players. While not a lot of teams openly needed to draft a Quarterback, and with JCIII stating he would not be changing positions, his realm of draft teams was not big. With the not QB needy Ultimus Champions Arizona Outlaws picking at #1 OA and going with Wide Receiver Thomas Sutha, the Berlin Fire Salamanders had #2. Many mock drafted JCIII to the german team, but in a surprise move, they traded back with the Austin Copperheads (Austin sent 2 S43 1st round picks, #5 and #8 OA), who then picked the portuguese QB, confirming him as Queen Elizabeth II replacement. Going into his 2nd season as Portland's starting QB, JCIII performed incredibly. He threw for 3398 yds, with 35 touchdowns and only 9 interceptions (3 of those on the same game, week 9 away against the Kansas City Coyotes, where he also threw for 5 touchdowns in a crazy 49 - 35 win) and 101.9 passer rating. With these performances, Portland eased into the playoffs with a 11 - 3 record, the best in the league. On the Conference Championship game, JCIII continued his great form, throwing for 2 touchdowns in a 31 - 14 win over the Coyotes, earning him and his team a spot on the Ultimini game against the Tijuana Luchadores. And on that Ultimini match against bitter rivals Tijuana, the Pythons pretty much destroyed their opponent, beating them 33 - 10, with the game on a very one sided 33 - 0 after around 56 minutes played. This marked an incredible season for Jay Cue III, which earned him a much coveted, and well deserved, Most Valuable Player league award for Season 43.

2059 DSFL Season (S44)

Wanting to build on his incredible Season 43, while not having a bad season per se, Jay Cue III could not really hold on to his numbers and success. While he had one of the highest completion percentages in the league (59.7%), courtesy of 270 completions in 452 attempts for 3307 yards (3rd in the league), his touchdown to interception ratio was not great. After a season with 35 TDs and 9 INTs, he failed to get to those stats, only throwing for 19 TDs with 11 INTs. Portland's team suffered with this inconsistency and even if they managed to lead the North Conference with an 11 - 3 record (same as the previous year), the team was not as dominant as expected, much due to his inability to rack up his individual stats. The Pythons then faced the Kansas City Coyotes (again), destroying them 30 - 6 in a game that was never in any kind of doubt. Reaching the Ultimini game, another faceoff against the Tijuana Luchadores, who had edged the Dallas Birddogs 24 - 21 in the South Conference Championship game. This time though, the rematch wasn't great for the Pythons, as the Luchadores got to half time with a 21 point lead (6 - 27), which pretty much put the game and the championship ring as a dream to the Pythons. The game ended in a 20 - 37 loss, marking with some sourness the end of the Jay Cue III reign in the DSFL and Portland, as he will be called up and playing for the Austin Copperheads in Season 45.

2060 ISFL Season (S45)

Season 45 marked Jay Cue III first start in the ISFL in Copperheads colors. And what a season he had. Austin finished 2nd in the ASFC with a 9 - 7 record, 2 wins behind regular season winners, the Honolulu Hahalua (11 - 5) and with the same record as the 3rd placed team, the Arizona Outlaws. Cue finished the regular season with pretty respectable numbers, including a league leader 98.1 QBR, throwing for 4536 yards, 31 TDs and 11 INTs. Very commendable first season numbers for the rookie Portuguese QB. In the playoffs wild card round, Austin faced Arizona, and while Cue did not have a great game by any means (294 yds, 0 TD passes and 2 INTs), their run game demolished the Outlaws. 5 total rushing touchdowns and a second half shutout helped them beat the Outlaws, 41 - 19. Next, they faced the Honolulu Hahalua, in Hawaai, for the conference final game. Coming into the match as the underdog, they shocked the world of football by booking their place on the Ultimus game with a 42 - 35 win. Jay Cue III really came alive during this game, throwing for 358 yards with 4 TDs and 1 INT. This meant that they would face the Sarasota Sailfish in the deciding game. Sarasota, who also created some havoc in the NSFC playoffs, beating the favored Baltimore Hawks (34 - 21) and the Colorado Yeti (30 - 17), came into the game, at home, as favorites. But in an incredible game, with back and forth scores, the deciding points came in overtime, with a Charlie Brown field goal, putting the Copperheads in the lead, 34 - 31. On their last drive, the Sailfish got a false start penalty putting them on a 1st and 15. And on that play, Willie Miller threw an INT, caught by the powerful Walther Gunther, ending the match and giving the Copperheads their first Ultimus since Season 20.

2061 ISFL Season (S46)

As Ultimus champions, the Austin Copperheads came out of the gates fast in Season 46. Even with a mostly aging team, they started 6-0, only getting stopped by the Orange County Otters in week 7. Later on the season, they kind of hit a big slump, which saw them finish the ASFC in third place, with a 10 - 6 record, behind the Arizona Outlaws (#1 with 13 - 3) and the Orange County Otters (#2 with 12 - 4). Jay Cue III had another pretty decent season, throwing for 4412 yards in 391 completions, for 31 touchdowns and 13 interceptions, with a very composed passer rating of 97. Coming into the playoffs as the underdog, knowing they would have to beat two teams away from home, the Copperheads shocked the ISFL world with a 38 - 31 win over the Otters in the wildcard round. Cue III was just unstoppable in this game, throwing for 328 yards and 4 TDs, earning his team the right of meeting the Arizona Outlaws in the conference championship game. Unfortunately for them, this game was the complete opposite, as they were swept aside by the Outlaws 17 - 38, a game that was over before half time, as at was 3 - 31 at the half.
