In his second season with the London Royals, Tugg had a good follow up season which saw him sharing more in the wide receiver room. He came away with 60 catches, 872 yards, and 6 touchdowns as the Royals went 9-5 and secured another another playoff berth. The first round saw London losing to the Portland Pythons 13-23, where Tugg had a very quiet game of just 3 catches for 36 yards. An early exit for the Royals this time around and Speedman's last chance at the Ultimini as he would be getting called up the upcoming offseason. The year end awards once again saw Tugg in the wide Receiver of the year category and again he only came away with the nomination and no award. The offseason leading into his rookie season in the ISFL, Speedman transitioned his game as a possession receiver to a slot receiver due to his electric speed, smaller size, and phenomenal hands. He was looking forward to the next step in his career and while he loved his time in London, it was time to head back to the United States, specially in San Jose, California to start training for the upcoming season.

Tugg Speedman (born July 7, 2020) is an American football wide receiver for the New York Silverbacks of the International Simulation Football League (ISFL).

Early years

Hailing out of Cleveland, Ohio Tugg was an all-Ohio player in High School. Practically born with a football in his hands, Tugg dominated at every level and has gone from being a Quarterback to a Running Back to settling on Wide Receiver due to his phenomenal speed and one of a kind catching ability. He set every imaginable wide receiver record his senior year of high school for not only his school but the state of Ohio. During his freshmen season of high school Tugg started on varsity and worked his way into being the number one wide receiver. He put up a modest 40 catches and 800 yards with 3 touchdowns. The team just missed out on the playoffs. During his sophomore season, Tugg maintained his number one receiver status and put up 60 catches, 980 yards, and 9 touchdowns. Again, the team failed to make the playoffs. Junior year is when things took off. Tugg reeled in 78 catches and 1,200 yards in addition to 11 touchdowns. He also began returning kicks and punts. He had a total of 4 touchdowns between the two and helped carry his team to the playoffs. They made it to the semi-finals where they were beaten by the previous years champions. Colleges really began to take notice now. During his senior season, Tugg put up 96 receptions and 1,400 yards with 14 touchdowns. He maintained his returner duties where he had a whopping 6 returned touchdowns. He carried his team to a high school football championship, where they went out on top with a blowout win over their opponent.

College career

Tugg had offers from every single Power 5 Football Conference but he knew he wanted to get the ball as much as possible as a wide receiver so he narrowed his search down to the Big 12 Conference. Realistically he knew no matter which school he chose, he was going to make an immediate impact and would go on to break records. Ultimately, he picked Texas Christian University (TCU) because of their dope ass uniforms and past success. During his time in college, Tugg continued his success and set records at the school and national level. After dominating for 2 seasons and winning the Heisman Trophy and being a National Champion during his second season, Tugg decided to leave school and prepare for the draft however after realizing that he could enter waivers for the Developmental Simulation Football League and earn some cash money while doing it. During his freshman season, Tugg hauled in 98 receptions and 1,451 yards with 11 touchdowns. During his first year on campus, TCU went on to go 9-2 and won the Fiesta Bowl over the Auburn Tigers. His sophomore season he built on this success and put up 122 receptions and 1,746 yards with 18 touchdowns for the Horned Frogs. That season, the Horned Frogs went undefeated and beat fellow undefeated Ohio State Buckeyes 38-27 in an all-time National Championship game.

Speedman spent a small amount of time with the Portland Pythons after being acquired on the post Trade Deadline waivers. He had 3 receptions for 28 yards and no touchdowns with Portland. In their playoff loss to the London Royals, Tugg had 2 catches for 13 yards. Following this stint with the Pythons, Tugg declared that he wanted to go through the Developmental Simulation Football League (DSFL) Draft to see who wanted him and how high he would get picked. During the draft despite being a top prospect, Tugg fell and landed with the London Royals with the last pick in the second round (16th overall). Ironically, despite falling that far, this is where Tugg wanted to go after having really good scouting interviews with the London brass. In his first season with the London Royals, Tugg Speedman was their leading receiver with 73 catches, 841 yards, and 4 touchdowns. It was a relatively good official rookie season where Tugg actually broke a couple team records. The first being yards in a game which came in Week 4 against the then Myrtle Beach Buccaneers where Tugg had 153 receiving yards. The second being a franchise record for catches in a season with 73. The Royals went 11-3 and made the playoffs. In their first playoff game the Royals beat the Minnesota Grey Ducks 33-13 and saw Tugg have a really clutch coming out party where he had 9 catches for 113 yards and a touchdown. Unfortunately, the Ultimini saw the Tijuana Luchadores defy all odds and crush the London Royals 42-16. In this game, Tugg had 5 catches for 103 yards. At the year end awards ceremony Tugg was nominated for Wide Receiver of the Year and Offensive Rookie of the Year, where he lost in both categories. Now between his first and second season with London, Tugg was being scouted for the International Simulation Football League (ISFL) Draft. Most mocks had Tugg going in the first round which ended up coming true as he was the very last pick in the first round (14th overall) going to the San Jose Silverbacks. Speedman was informed that he was going to be staying down another season with London, which he was okay with since he wanted to run it back for the Ultimini.

S27 - Rookie Season w/ San Jose

In his rookie season with San Jose, Tugg was clearly not a first, second, or even third option in the passing game with the multiple high-earning players they already had on the team. This led to an underwhelming rookie season where Tugg had 55 catches, 602 yards, and no touchdowns. It was a pretty frustrating season overall as not only did Tugg not perform well, and with media scrutiny of being a first round pick but the Sabercats also missed out on the playoffs by one game. Speedman took this rather personally with such high expectations set by others but also himself. Tugg also knew that if some things didn't change in his second season, he didn't really see himself being with San Jose long term.
