The National Simulation Football Conference (or NSFC) is one of the is one of the two conferences of the International Simulation Football League (ISFL) in a professional American football league. This conference and it's counterpart, the American Simulation Football Conference (ASFC), currently contain 7 teams each, making up the 14 teams of the NSFL. Both conferences were created in inaugural season of 2016 (S1) with 3 teams each. Conferences expanded four times: 2017 (S2), which added Philadelphia Liberty (now the Cape Town Crash) to the NSFC, in 2031 (S16) which added the Chicago Butchers, the Sarasota Sailfish in 2037 (S22), and the Berlin Fire Salamanders in 2040 (S25). Teams from three different countries: The United States, Canada, and Germany make up the conference.

Current Teams

Since 2040 (S25), the NSFC has 7 teams.

Season Format

The NSFC season format consists of a four-week preseason, a seventeen-week regular season (each team plays 16 games), and a three-team single-elimination playoff culminating in the Ultimus Bowl, the league's championship game.

History

Both the NSFC and ASFC were created during the inaugural year of 2016 (S1). During NSFL season 2 expansion draft one more team joined the NSFC - Philadelphia Liberty. 14 years later in the Season 16 Expansion Draft the conference added the Chicago Butchers. In 2037 (S22) the Sarasota Sailfish joined the conference as the third expansion team. In the most recent expansion in 2040 (S25) the Berlin Fire Salamanders joined the conference as the fourth expansion team.

The first title was won by the Colorado Yeti. After that, we had a period of back to back titles: Baltimore Hawks (2017 (S2), 2018 (S3)) followed by the Yellowknife Wraiths (2019 (S4), 2020 (S5)) and Philadelphia Liberty (2021 (S6), 2022 (S7)). Yellowknife won one more NSFC Championship in 2023 (S8). Starting in 2024 (S9), the Hawks completed the first-ever four-peat in NSFC history, winning the conference championship every year from 2024 (S9) to 2027 (S12). The Colorado Yeti are the current champions of the NSFC, this is their sixth titles.

The Yellowknife Wraiths lead the conference in NSFC Championship appearances with 16. The Baltimore Hawks have the second most appearances with 14. The Yellowknife Wraiths, Baltimore Hawks and Sarasota Sailfish are the three NSFC teams to win multiple Ultimus Bowls.
