The American Simulation Football Conference (ASFC) is one of the is one of the two conferences of the International Simulation Football League (ISFL) in a professional American football league. This conference and its counterpart, the National Simulation Football Conference (NSFC), currently contain 7 teams each, making up the 14 teams of the ISFL. Both conferences were created in inagurual season of 2016 (S1) with 3 teams in each conference. Conferences expanded four times: in 2017 (S2), which added Las Vegas Legion (now New Orleans Second Line), 2031 (S16) with the Austin Copperheads, in 2037 (S22) brining in the Honolulu Hahalua, and most recently in 2040 (S25) brining in the New York Silverbacks.

Current Teams

Since 2040 (S25) the ASFC has 7 teams.

Season Format

The ASFC season format consists of a four-week preseason, a seventeen-week regular season (each team plays 16 games), and a three-team single-elimination playoff culminating in the Ultimus Bowl, the league's championship game.

History

Both the ASFC and NSFC were created during the inaugural year of 2016 (S1). During NSFL season 2 expansion draft one more team joined the ASFC - Las Vegas Legion. In the Season 16 Expansion Draft the Austin Copperheads were added into the ASFC. In Season 22 a third expansion took place which added the Honolulu Hahalua. In Season 25 a fourth expansion took place which added the New York Silverbacks.

The first three titles were won by the Arizona Outlaws (from 2016 (S1) to 2018 (S3)), next four by Orange County Otters (2019 (S4) to 2022 (S7)). The New Orleans Second Line had a winning streak spanning (2023 (S8) to 2026 (S11)). The Orange County Otters went to the ASFC Championship game in each of the first 19 seasons and have the most ASFC conference championship game appearances with 24. The Arizona Outlaws have the second most ASFC conference championship game appearances with 12. The Honolulu Hahalua are the current conference champions.

In Season 26 there was an unprecedented five-way tie for first place in the conference with each team going 9-7. The tie breaker for playoff seeding was decided by a cascading head-to-head manner.
