Wolfeschlegelsteinhausenbergerdorff "Wolfie" McDummy Jr. (born March 2, 2052) is an American football quarterback for the Colorado Yeti of the International Simulation Football League.

Early years

McDummy Jr. was born at the Piscataway Veterinary Clinic on February 31, 2052 as one of 8 husky mutt puppies. As the runt of the litter, McDummy Jr. did not see much love during adoption showings, as he appeared to be sleepier and lazier than his fellow siblings. He was, however, adopted by the ISFL's Hall of Fame Quarterback Wolfie McDummy on March 31, 2052 during an offseason charity visit, and moved to Denver to join his new human. While McDummy Sr. was looking for a calmer dog, he quickly figured out that McDummy Jr. was secretly harboring incredible energy - just waiting for the right human to come along to unlock it. Through many training sessions and puppy school, it became clear that Wolfie Jr. was much more athletic than many dogs at his age and size, and so Wolfie Sr. became determined to find a positive outlet for this.

After watching many animals find and achieve tremendous success in the ISFL, McDummy Sr. figured that Jr. could also possibly have a future. Wolfie Jr., already an expert at fetch, began training to catch footballs by age 1 and showed incredible skill. Impressively, Wolfie Jr. appeared to be a chip off the old block as he was able to toss the football back to his human with incredible accuracy. Because of this, Wolfie Sr. began to train Wolfie Jr. to become an all-around offensive weapon, capable of throwing and catching the ball - despite always reminding Jr. that playing quarterback at the highest level was not always a fun experience.

College career

Wolfie Jr. was accepted to join the Rutgers Seeing Eye Puppy club for the Fall 2053 semester, and so he took that opportunity to also try to walk on the University's football team. Thanks to his connection to Wolfie Sr., he was able to get a spot as the kicking tee fetcher for his first year. Due to his still being a puppy, the team was not quite willing to allow Wolfie Jr. to possibly get hurt on the field of play - so the year counted as a redshirt. Wolfie Jr. was an instant fan favorite, and his ability to catch incomplete passes on the sideline impressed many fans as well.

In his second year at Rutgers, Wolfie was finally old enough to be cleared for contact sports. He instantly shined as his speed and agility far outmatched many of his human counterparts - and quickly made his way up to a second string wide receiver. By the end of the season, he had become a constant starter on offense, racking up nearly 800 receiving yards and two receiving touchdowns. Wolfie also started to run the ""wild dog"" formation with the team, rushing for nearly 100 yards and throwing for another 100 yards.

Due to the ISFL's specialty rules on animal players, Wolfie was immediately eligible for the DSFL draft after his second season, and so after becoming Seeing Eye certified he declared for the DSFL Draft.

Dallas Birddogs (S39-S41)

After entering the DSFL early in 2054 (S39), Wolfie McDummy Jr. was taken on waivers by the Dallas Birddogs for the last 3 games of the season. McDummy put up fairly pedestrian numbers, totaling 9 receptions for 84 yards over the 3 games.

Wolfie McDummy Jr. was then drafted by the Birddogs as the 61st pick in the S40 DSFL Draft. As a younger pup on the team, McDummy Jr. resided fairly low on the Birddog depth chart with The Riddler and Dr. Livesly ahead of him - though this did not stop him from contributing to the team's offense. He immediately burst on to the scene in the first game at Tijuana with a season-high 6 receptions on 9 targets totaling for 64 receiving yards, though it was a poor effort from the team as a whole. His best game came in Week 5 of the season in a losing effort against the Portland Pythons, where McDummy Jr. caught a 73 yard touchdown pass from quarterback NCDAV RAINN on his way to a season-high 141 receiving yards. McDummy Jr. continued to play a valuable role in the offense, though it was clear he was second fiddle to the talented Riddler.

McDummy failed to garner any attention from the league's awards committees, but he did draw the attention of many ISFL scouts, resulting in his being drafted by the Colorado Yeti in the 2056 (S41) ISFL Draft. As part this drafting, McDummy switched the the quarterback position and due to his send down became the de-facto starting quarterback for the Birddogs in 2056 (S41).

This experiment did not result in much success for the team or McDummy, as the Birddogs finished last overall in the league with a record of 2-11-1. McDummy himself put up mediocre to poor passing numbers, completing only 53% of his passes for 3,666 yards and 26 touchdowns. McDummy's best game came in a 41-21 loss to the Minnesota Grey Ducks, where he threw for 353 yards and 3 touchdowns. Despite his year-long string of poor performance, McDummy was called up by the Colorado Yeti to become their starting quarterback in 2057 (S42).

S41 ISFL Draft

McDummy Jr. entered the S41 ISFL Draft process with the expressed goal of becoming a Hall of Fame wide receiver in the league, but many scouting conversations with the pup brought up his quarterbacking ability. With a raw arm but the intelligence and work ethic to become a top-tier quarterback, McDummy Jr. began to entertain these thoughts - but he made it clear to only the Colorado Yeti that he would be willing to switch to the position full-time. Sources near the pup claim that this willingness to switch arose from the success he saw with his human McDummy Sr. after his switch, and so Jr. trusted the organization to take its time and properly train him up to be the best player he could. Despite this, he still entered the pre-draft process and combine as a wide receiver. This position switch was leaked to the public early by a few enterprising reporters, who then confirmed it with both McDummy Sr. and mentor Micycle McCormick.

Colorado Yeti

Wolfie McDummy Jr. was drafted by the Colorado Yeti as the 11th pick in the S41 ISFL Draft. After being sent down to the DSFL for the 2056 (S41) season, McDummy became the starting quarterback for the Colorado Yeti in 2057 (S42).

McDummy struggled in his first year in the ISFL, though it was not for a lack of attempts. The offense was immediately geared towards throwing the ball, and this emphasis was solidified by the naming of McDummy as a team captain. McDummy threw 684 passing attempts in the regular season - second-most in the league - to help the team finish with a record of 6-10. This finish was only good enough for 6th place in the conference, but most pundits and fans saw this as a bright start for McDummy's career. He completed 61.5% of his passing attempts for 4,578 yards and 33 touchdowns, but careless interceptions proved to be his downfall. McDummy threw 18 interceptions, of which 5 contributed to his league-leading pick-six count. His best game of 2057 (S42) came in Week 14 against the Sarasota Sailfish, where he threw for 355 yards and 4 touchdowns on the way to a 41-31 victory on the road.
