Bourtol Halcomsby (born March 20, 2031) is an American football defensive tackle for the Tijuana Luchadores of the Developmental Simulation Football League (DSFL).

Early years

"Born in Charleroi, Pennsylvania, Bourtol Halcomsby comes from a decorated lineage of curling players, dating all the way back to 1924. Interested in football as a young man, he pursued this newfound passion despite it being a reach to what the Halcomsby family was used to. Despite this, he always had his family's support and kept pursuing this all the while keeping up with curling. He knew that it was more than inevitable that a choice would have to be made.

Athletically gifted, Curling would prove to be a waste for such a young man who seemingly excelled at every sport he touched, football made no exception to this. He found happiness like nothing before in playing the sport, which he decided would be what he would pursue, despite his family strongly wanting him to keep the tradition alive. It would cause some hardships in the Halcomsby family, but it would sort itself out as time went by."

College career

"Bourtol had to work particularly hard to get into the starting lineup of the Penn State Nittany Lions. Despite a more than respectable football resume from his time in High School, Bourtol received only a couple of D2 and D3 scholarships. Not opposed to the idea of getting a full ride to good colleges, his dream since he started to play Football was to be a Nittany Lion and to run down Beaver Stadium in the fabled Penn State jersey.

He worked hard as a walk-on, went through the various practice teams until coach gave him his shot and from there, Bourtol never looked back. A fearful tackler, Bourtol went on to solidify the Penn State defense and make them veritable contenders. He would prove to be an asset, both on the field and off the field, paving the way for rookies and walk-ons such as him in providing sound leadership and comraderie to his teammates as they pushed for glory.

Falling up short was not easy for the Charleroi native, but with a backpack full of memories and personal accomplishment on both a personal and professional level, he looked on towards the rest of his career, ready to face off the challenges ahead."

DSFL Career

S39

Bourtol came into his rookie year not really knowing what to expect. On a personal level, he felt that his game was in a great place during camp, and he truly felt as if his new coaches had his back and were seeing how much he could contribute to the team's success moving forward. His ever high confidence would have to show resilience through adversity, as Tijuana would struggle to find consistency and in turn the defensive unit of which Bourtol expected to be a big part of had a more difficult time tracking the ball, moving in space to eliminate threats. It was a higher step up from Penn State than Bourtol expected, but he quickly found his footing in consistently providing good numbers on a struggling team.

Despite underwhelming success for the team, Bourtol would show his grit and determination in succeeding at football, leading the league in TFLs in only his rookie season, a very encouraging sign of what's to come for the Charleroi native.
