Owen Farrell (born July 1, 2026) is an American football quarterback for the Dallas Birddogs of the Developmental Simulation Football League (DSFL).

Early years

"Owen Farrell was born into rugby royalty his Grandfather Andy had been an adequate rugby league player and represented his country in both codes of the sport. His crowning achievement was though came from leading the Irish national union side to their first ever world cup final appearance in the 2023 world cup. His father, also Owen Farrell, was a well renowned England rugby union star earning over 100 caps for his company including a World Cup final appearance.

Farrell received his name from his dad who was quoted as saying ""Just call him Owen, I'll forget anything else"". He was a gifted athlete from early on in his life excelling at Association Football, both codes of rugby and basketball, representing his county for all of these growing up. Whilst he performed well he never felt any real affinity for any of the sports but followed in his fathers footsteps signing up for the Saracens rugby academy. This didn't grip him at all and he instead looked further afield at an international athletic scholarship in Texas Tech university. "

College career

"Farrell turned up at Texas Tech to take part in the athletics program and to help take their rugby program to the next level. Seeing a post for football tryouts Farrell walked onto the field to try out at the most difficult postion on the field as he felt as though the position would tranlate closely from the position he played in rugby - flyhalf. Farrell didn't see any game time in his first 2 years at Texas Tech. Instead he filled in as QB of the practice squad learning the ins and outs of the position. Shown to be a quick study he picked up the playbook very quickly, mid way through his second year he was helping out with playcalling and only his core fundamentals were holding him back from taking the starting job. He finally got the chance to start in his 3rd year and looked promising. Whilst he had the head for the position he still hadn't quite found the technique to unleash his full potential. This resulted in Farrell declaring for the DSFL to try and develop into a more complete player before making the leap to the big leagues."

S33

Owen Farrell declared for the S34 DSFL entry draft with the hope to be noticed and picked up for the S35 ISFL draft. However before the draft took place Farrell was able to take practice reps through in Dallas where he was picked up on Waivers to backup starting QB Christian Marciano.

With Dallas out of the running for the playoffs Farrell was given some well earned game time, starting in the final game of the season to take on the London Royals at home. Farrell didn't exactly light up the show in this game but he also didn't lose the team the game. He put up a distinctly average stat line true to his game manager style. He finished the game with 0 interceptions but 0 touchdowns as well. At the end of the game the coaches were overheard telling Farrell this would be his last game in the blue and yellow as they would not be drafting a Marciano replacement this season.

S34

Owen Farrell went into the S34 draft fairly certain he was going to one of two teams as the rest were fairly set at the Quarterback position, but getting his name called in the first round was certainly a large shock. With Minnesota being a fairly cold and wet place Farrell felt well at home as soon as he turned up. Season 34 actually ended up being a rather successful one for Farrell, avoiding the usual rookie mistakes and throwing a bunch of picks, his GMs gameplanned to ease him into the role, relying heavily on RB Bartok during the early season. Farrell really arrived in the DSFL in the 5th game of the season after Minnesota limped to a 1-3 start. Game 5 saw the Tijuana Luchadores visit the ducks and Farrell put on a complete masterclass. Throwing 27 times for 18 receptions, the young QB was extremely efficient, throwing his receivers open. This lead to him wracking up 339 passing yards, 4 touchdowns and 0 interceptions. This fantastic stat line lead to an extremely impressive 149.3 QB rating and really kicked off the Greyducks push for playoffs. The team went on to win 7 of the following 9 games and forced their way into the 1 seed of the North. Following a timely bust and lengthy ban of a number of Coyotes for steroid abuse the Greyducks easily polished off Kansas City in the divisional game and went on to take on the struggling Dallas Birddogs in the Ultimini. This game was not so successful for Farrell, throwing just 1 touchdown, unfortunately the defence just couldnt find a way to stop the high flying Marciano on the day.
