Early years
Born in Lincoln, NE to Arthur and Molly, Charlie Thorsen was involved in athletic pursuits from an early age. Believing in a healthy lifestyle, the Thorsen family all competed in various events. Arthur was a simple man and spent most of his time running. 5K runs, 10K runs, and even Marathons, were a common weekend activity for Charlie and his father. Charlie's mother was much more organized, playing keeper for a local rec soccer league which she brought Charlie to for practices and matches. The family moved from Lincoln to Fremont once Charlie showed some promise so that he could attend Archbishop Bergan, one of the best schools in the state.
Identified as a three-star prospect very shortly after his two interception High School debut, Thorsen was approached by multiple different college programs. He had visited Indiana once as a child and had fond memories of the trip and ultimately decided to accept a scholarship away from his home state.
College career
Thorsen accepted an offer to play football for Notre Dame. As a freshman, Thorsen played in 13 games and started 7 of them. He lead all true freshman with 4 interceptions including a clutch pick six to seal the victory for the school's first bowl game win in several seasons.
His second season with the Fighting Irish proved troublesome. Poised to be a breakout starter, Thorsen broke his arm after only four games. After recovering he made it back in time to join the team to help guarantee another trip to a bowl game. Unfortunately, this time they were unable to win after allowing a last second field goal.
After a successful offseason of training, Thorsen came back stronger than ever and managed to start all 12 games in the season. The team did not manage to reach another bowl game, however, Thorsen's personal stat line was enough that he was convinced to declare for the upcoming DSFL draft.

DSFL career
Kansas City Coyotes
Thorsen entered the DSFL in 2050 (S35) and was claimed off waivers by the Kansas City Coyotes. The Coyotes were fighting to maintain their playoff berth with a very young cornerback corps, and Thorsen's skills and experience put him on the field quickly. While he did not rack up an amazing stat line, he did a great job at keeping opposing receivers in check and helped the Coyotes push all the way to the Ultimini. Unfortunately, the Coyotes could not overcome the Norfolk Seawolves and lost in what was a much closer game than the scoreboard would indicate. After this game, Thorsen was placed back into the DSFL entry draft where he would be selected in the third round by the Tijuana Luchadores.
Tijuana Luchadores
Thorsen made his way south of the border to play for the Luchadores in his first, full professional season. His team had several star defensive backs on the team already, so his coaches put him in touch with a bulking coach so that Thorsen could gain weight and put him to work in the front seven as a linebacker. He bounced around between inside and outside, but as he got a better understanding of the game Thorsen ended up playing mostly outside linebacker. Thorsen put up an impressive stat line, getting better each week throughout the season. Leading the league's linebackers in Passes Defensed, Thorsen also put up respectable numbers in every other important defensive category. After a long campaign where the Luchadores only dropped two games in the regular season, they would go on to face the Bondi Beach Buccaneers in the Conference Championship winning a close game by only three points. This lead to what was expected to be a shootout against one of the other best teams in the league, the Portland Pythons. Unfortunately for Portland, the Luchadores won easily in a twenty-seven to three rout earning Thorsen an Ultimini trophy after narrowly missing it the season before.
ISFL career
Berlin Fire Salamanders
Thorsen was selected first overall in the 2052 (S37) ISFL draft by the Berlin Fire Salamanders. He was switched back to Cornerback and called up to the ISFL immediately.
