Early years
Born in New Haven, Connecticut, Joseph was born to play linebacker. Even before he could walk he would always be clinging to his stuffed football given to him as a baby. When he was old enough to play peewee football, it was apparent that he was born to play ball. Joseph was constantly being sent to the sidelines during peewee football for knocking too many of the opposing players out of the game. This is when he earned the nickname "Bam". While at Choate, Joseph was a jack of all trades on the defensive side of the ball, playing linebacker, safety, and defensive end. He earned many scholarship offers but ultimately chose to remain close to his home at the University of Connecticut.
College career
Wanting to stay local to his roots, he passed up multiple big time D1 offers to go to the University of Connecticut, where he was a 4 year starter. At UCONN, Joseph played inside linebacker, outside linebacker, rush end, and even safety in certain packages. He modeled his game after the great Brian Urlacher - who played free safety in college before becoming one of the best linebackers the NFL had ever seen. Although not the biggest, fastest, or most physically gifted athlete, Joseph was a dedicated student of the game and played with a relentless attitude. Joseph earned all conference honors as a sophomore, junior, and senior, also being named team captain as a junior and senior, and earned 2nd team All American honors as a senior. He can only hope to continue his success in the next chapter of his football career with the London Royals of the DSFL.
