Thor Bǫllrsveifla (born July 5, 2036) is an American football quarterback who currently plays for the Bondi Beach Buccaneers. He played college football for Asgard College (AGC) and has declared his intent to enter the ISFL ranks in the upcoming draft.

Early years

Thor was born in Asgard, as the son of Odin and God of Thunder. From a young age Thor displayed very advanced skills not only in controlling storms, but also across a range of ball sports played throughout Asgard for enjoyment. While he played many different sports as a youngster including handball, Australian rules football, Rugby, Soccer and basketball, the one which he showed the most promise in was the sport of American Football. As Thor grew up, he was provided with an opportunity to play American Football through primary and secondary school, where he played a multitude of positions including Running Back, Cornerback, Linebacker and Quarterback where he showed promise through most facets of the game. As he reached his Senior year of high school, Thor made the full time swap to play Quarterback to give himself the best opportunity at receiving a college scholarship. While applying for colleges, Thor realised that most of the forms he was filling out needed a surname to be entered, and while at the time he didn't have one - he decided to use the nickname he had earned through his sports career as his last name, so he became "Bǫllrsveifla", loosely translated to english this means "Ball Slinger". Thor gave up his position on the Avengers in pursuit of a career in football instead.

College career

Thor applied to several colleges throughout Asgard, and received offers from many schools including Old Valhalla University, Midgard Technical College and Asgard College. Though there was a lot of discussion around where he would sign, it ended up being a decision between Old Valhalla and Asgard College. Once Thor had commited to Asgard College, he felt a sense of excitement and anticipation. As the god of thunder, his skills on the football field were still unmatched even at this level, and he knew that Asgard College would provide him with the perfect platform to showcase his abilities. It wasn't just about football for Thor, Asgard College also offered an education that aligned with his interests, the faculty members were respected scholars in their fields, and Thor was looking forward to expanding his knowledge beyond the football field. He planned to study ancient mythology and history, further connecting with his roots and embracing his role as the god of thunder. Thor's college football performance was exceptional through all three years he was there. His strength and speed allowed him to dominate the field, leaving opponents in awe. Thunderous touchdowns alongside precise passes showcased his athleticism and determination. Fans and teammates adored him for his legendary performances, solidifying his status as a football deity at Asgard College.

Professional career

During the end of Season 42, the Kansas City Coyotes made an interesting move. They brought in Thor as a temporary Trade Deadline waiver for the season's final four weeks. The decision was strategic, hoping to add depth and versatility to the team's lineup. Partnered with Jake Jefferson, Thor quickly made his presence felt on the field. The two showcased a strong synergy, working together and playing important roles in driving the Coyotes forward. Their combined efforts ensured the team's entry into the playoffs. Though the team anticipated a deep run, the Minnesota Grey Ducks had other plans and put an end to the Coyotes' playoff dreams in the very first round.

With the end of Season 42, new opportunities loomed on the horizon for Thor. The Bondi Beach Buccaneers recognized Thor's potential and they secured him in the fifth round of the DSFL Draft as Season 43 got underway. They had brought in a fresh batch of talented players, all promising and eager to prove their worth. Thor was a part of this renewed vision, and expectations from him were high.

Pre-season dynamics were intriguing. The Buccaneers' management took a somewhat unconventional approach. Instead of having a set starting quarterback, they alternated between Thor and Austin Gausman, another rookie. The strategy was experimental, gauging which player fit the team's plans best. The first five games gave mixed results, with the Buccaneers securing victories in just two encounters. Observing the trend, a decision was made by Week 6. Thor was given full control, leading the team without splitting playing time.

The initial phase of this change saw the Buccaneers grappling with back-to-back losses. The team regrouped and, under Thor's leadership, embarked on a more consistent run. By the end of the season, out of the nine games with Thor as the starter, the Buccaneers claimed victory in five. Yet, despite their late-season push and commendable turnaround, they finished with a 7-7 record. This unfortunately meant they were on the edge, just outside the playoff bracket.

During the Season 44 ISFL Draft, Thor was lined up by most pundits to be a first round pick in a class with three QBs and four teams needing to draft one. Thor attended the draft in person based on this pre-draft hype, only to be still remaining on the board after the day 1 picks had been rounded out. Only one QB ended up being drafted in the first round, with Tua TurnDaBallOva going to the Berlin Fire Salamanders. Day two rolled around and this time Thor decided to stay home and await the results with family and friends, being disappointed by not hearing his name read out in the first round. As the second round progressed, Lenard McRobinson was picked up by the Honolulu Hahalua and Thor continued to slide down the board until he was finally selected at the end of the second round at #28 overall by the Cape Town Crash.

Cape Town Crash advised Thor that he would not be needed for a few seasons, and encouraged him to continue his development by playing with the Buccaneers in the mean time. Through the S44 season, Thor was in many ways unremarkable - not being selected for any awards, pro-bowl or all-pro recognition and failing to lead his Buccaneers to a playoff berth for a second straight season. Many critics were left to talk about whether the ISFL draft scouts were right to leave Thor on the board for so long given his performance so far through his DSFL career. It would only be a matter of time before those questions were answered though, and Thor expected to spend at least two more seasons with the Buccaneers before his ISFL journey truly begun.

Entering Season 45, Cape Town Crash once again relegated Thor to the developmental league to play another season with the Bondi Beach Buccaneers. Through the offseason, Thor was put through a program to develop his scrambling skills in an effort to make him a more diverse player both for the Buccaneers and the Crash. The Buccaneers adapted their playbooks to accomodate this and increased the amount of rushing Thor did through the course of the season from 20 carries for 22 yards, up to 146 carries for 799 yards. As a new look dual threat Quarterback, Thor managed to lead the Buccaneers to an 8-6 record - however for the third time in his career this was not enough to make it to the playoffs.

At the conclusion of the Season 45, and with the retirement of Creg Jerrith IV, the Cape Town Crash announced that Thor would be their starting Quarterback for Season 46 in the ISFL. Thor will be aiming to find his feet next season on a team full of stars one season removed from an Ultimus berth, but after a downturn of a season at 7-9.

The 46th season of the ISFL saw Thor receiving much fanfare as the start of the next generation of scrambling quarterbacks, many fantasy drafts had him moving off the board faster than most would expect for a rookie QB - and from week 1 Thor rewarded both the Cape Town GMs and his fantasy owners starting out the season with a performance of the year winning effort mainly driven by his efforts in the rushing attack, racking up 127 yards and three touchdowns alongside 2 touchdowns and 208 yards through the air. As the season progressed these numbers would be the best of the season for Thor, though he had several other strong games culminating in an Offensive Rookie of the Year award. Unfortunately, this effort was not consistent enough to take Cape Town to the playoffs as they missed out on a berth with a record of 7-9. Though many have criticised the decision to draft a scrambling quarterback to a team with strong wide receivers, Cape Town have made it clear they're committed to Thor as a starter for the future, as they work on negotiating an extension that will seem him remain a part of the Crash for the remainder of his career.

Thor and the Crash enter season 47 with a new class of draft recruits, once again aiming to reach and succeed in the playoffs.
