Rashad Hilliard (born November 26, 2018) is an American football cornerback for the Minnesota Grey Ducks of the Developmental Simulation Football League (DSFL).

Early years

Rashad Hilliard was born and raised in Gainesville Florida by his mother Lilly Hilliard. Hilliard and his sister Sasha Hilliard were raised by there single mother as both fathers were not around. He attended Gainesville Highschool where he fell in love with football. Football allowed Hilliard to escape his normal day to day life while bettering himself as a player and a person. It also set him up for his future success in life. He started at runningback and made an impact for the team starting day one. By his senior season he posted 2,123 yards on 227 carries and 32 touchdowns which left his career stats 6,779 yards on 942 carries. Hilliard tried his hand at corner back while in highschool although he did not ever see playing time it was mainly to serve as a backup in the case of injury. Before moving on to a successful career at his local college, University of Florida.

College career

Hilliard did not see the starting job until his Junior year but he still helped his team posting big runs in both his freshman and sophomore season. His freshman year he posted 424 yards on a nice 69 carries and 2 touchdowns with his longest run being 68 yards. In his sophomore campaign, he saw the field even less posting 305 yards on 54 carries with 4 touchdowns. This was all a build-up to his breakout junior year where he posted 2,014 yards on 194 carries which were enough to get him into the DSFL draft where he later made a position change to cornerback with the Minnesota Grey Ducks.

Professional career

DSFL career

After being drafted 34th overall in the S23 DSFL draft to the Grey Ducks. Hilliard saw the field on his rookie year making a strong statement for being a top cornerback and leading the league in interceptions, so shortly after switching to the position.

Hilliard saw an amazing rookie year come to close, with all his accomplishments on the field, coming one away from tying a league record in interceptions. He also came one shy in voting as well coming in second by one vote for the defensive back of the year award. Poised to take on a bigger role in the years to come. He put the Minnesota Grey Duck jersey on again and prepared for an even better season. With the Grey Ducks losing so much to call ups in terms of DBs, it left a void at that position which Hilliard knew he could fill switching from the right side of the field to the star left cornerback he was ready to ball out. The beginning of the S24 season was slow for Rashad Hilliard, doubt started to creep in. Week four rolled around and Rashad finally had a game that cemented the fact he is a sustained player and not a one-season wonder. Closing out the win he had five tackles, one forced fumble with the recovery, two passes deflected and capped it with an interception. This set the tone for the remainder of the S24 season, but will it be enough to secure the cornerback of the year award, or will he just come up short once more. The offseason for Rashad has left him time to build and reflect not quite if he will be called up to the big leagues or if he will spend another year in the DSFL with the Grey Ducks.
