Preston Beatz (born February 14, 2027) is an American football kicker for the Minnesota Grey Ducks of the Developmental Simulation Football League (DSFL).

Early years

Preston may have been born and raised in Australia, but he grew up with a large aspiration to become a top flight player within the International Simulation Football League. His years of expereince playing Aussie Rules football trained himself to have a fierecely powerful and accurate leg. When he moved to America to try and kickstart a career in American Football, it was this leg that set him apart from other potential future athletes. Preston was much more expereinced and trained due to his time in Australia which saw him easily weave his way into a repitable high school football team as both the kicker and punter. His ability to perform in stressful moments when the play breaks down was his specialty, his Aussie Rules background allowing him not only to remain as accurate and powerful whilst on the move, but gave him the ability to even make runs on fake attempts. It was not long before Preston found himself going towards College and fielding multiple offers and paid scholarships to further his life's goal.

College career

After the long and tough decision of picking his college, Preston finally took his craft to Clemson, doning the orange uniform with pride to show that he was the real deal and get to the next level. The college career of Beatz started rough, missing as 32 yard field goal in his first game in perfect conditions, then failing to convert an extra point that saw the game move to overtime. He showed his expereince and ability to perform in the clutch, slotting a 54 yard field goal in overtime to win the game and redeem himself. Over the course of the next 4 years, Beatz managed to increased both his field goal range and accuracy, but in a surprising twist, saw himself playing as a wildcard quarterback at times, showing decent promise with his high intellect and game awareness, with an arm throwing balls as strong as his legs kicked them. Going into the ISFL draft, niether Beatz nor teams that have reacahed out during the scouting process, know what his going to be his true position, Kicker or Quarterback.

DSFL

Season 36

Preston Beatz had an up and down season after being drafted to the Grey Ducks in the second round of the draft. This appeared immensely high despite Beatz’s raw talent due to him occupying the Kicker/Punter role for almost all of the season. In week 16 however, we saw what the organisation was doing, rolling out Beatz for his first official game as a Quarterback in the DSFL. It seems with Farrell leaving to the big leagues for next season, the team prepared to have Beatz swap into the position late in the season to allow him full growth in the position. Throughout the season however, Beatz made all of his extra point attempts whilst having 80% of his 20 field goals be successful. Not as good a punter as kicker, Beatz finished the season averaging 44.8 yards on his 36 punts, with 14, just under 40%, of his punts being inside the 20’s.

Season 37

Preston Beatz first season as a quarterback at the helm of the ducks started poorly with a loss to Portland and two ints, but put together 4 consistent games in a row afterwards to show the transition from Kicker/Punter to Quarterback would be a worthwhile one for his future ISFL team Baltimore Hawks. Beatz lead the ducks to a 10-4 record, claiming the first seed in the North, unfortuantely however losing in the Conference Championship game to the Pythons, making a third loss in the season against them and ruling himself out an Ultimini game. For the season, Beatz threw for over 3700 yards and 24 Touchdowns, both ranking him 4th for the season among of Quarterbacks. His intellgence and awareness in charge showed, with only 11 interceptions, 3rd least for the season. Overall, the season demonstrated an innate ability to read defences and how to pick them apart, and in due time could see Beatz become a mega star in the ISFL level of the leauge.

ISFL

Season 38

With his promotion to the ISFL, Beatz was one of 3 rookie quarterbacks for the season. In one of the most unpredictable seasons ever, Beatz was able to work with the Hawks team slated to be by far the 2nd worst team in the league, to the postseason, bowing out in the wildcard games in a competitive showing against the Yellowknife Wraiths. On a personal level, Beatz may have came in the middle for attempts and completions, but is yardage was low out of all Quarterbacks due to having the lowest average yards of all by a decent margin. What his game was prided on however, was consistently finding his man, throwing at 62.9%, average for the league, and a league low of 7 interceptions, equal 15th lowest in league history, and equal third lowest amount in Baltimore franchise history. It is a season that showed Beatz after his position swap holds promise at the top level of the league, and is one to watch when both himself and the personnel around him on the offence as well as the young defensive talent the Hawks have acquired in the drafts develop into potential stars of the game.

Season 39 Coming off the back of an exciting rookie season where Beatz took the Hawks to the playoffs, Season 39 proved to be a reality check for the entire offence including Beatz. Baltimore only collected 6 victories whilst Beatz threw for less yards, with more interceptions and a higher touchdown to interception rate. Beatz remained one of the top two quarterbacks in sack percentage, showing his struggles to escape the pressure and quickly fire the ball to not take a loss of yards. Furthermore, his overall efficiency dropped, with a quarterback rating dropping by 0.8, from 85.7 to 74.9. On the positive, Beatz had a slightly increased competition percentage, 63.8% compared to 623.7%, and a quarterback rating increase.

Beatz has been on record saying he needs to spend more time developing his relationships with his young talented offence in order to build more confidence in his own abilities to land the deep ball and safely remain in the pocket. Beatz inked a one season extension, with rumours that he will be expected to sign a career long contract with the hawks once officially into his final year of the contract.

Season 40

Entering his third season of the ISFL, Beatz stood tall all season to provide a break-through performance game in and game out. Whilst the Baltimore Hawks roster is still young and developing, the front office brought in generational talent and future star receiver Rocky Moreaux, forming a lethal combination for seasons to come. The move paid off, with an improve passing game despite the much higher ratio of passing to seasons gone by. Beatz led the league in throw attempts, completed and yards, being the only Quarterback to reach the 5,000 yard mark and a stark difference from his previous season and peak of 3,500 yards. The volume increase and added talent surrounding him, it is no surprise that Beatz also threw for 36 touchdowns, 50% more then in Season 39. Despite having thrown for more interceptions, Beatz's quarterback rating also went above 90 for the first time in his career. Across the board, Season 40 saw Preston Beatz outperform himself in all categories, an extremely promising step forward in his young career.

Season 41

For Preston Beatz, Season 41 was a down year compared to Season 40. Whit having a similar amount of attempts, Beatz was unable to link up with his receivers as often, his completion rate down 4% from last season to 61.1%, marking his lowest in the four seasons he has played in the major leagues. Whilst his average yards per completion still remaind in the 11’s, the lack of completed passes dropped his yards to below 4,800. The hawks didn’t have as much offencesive success, and Beatz being unable to net as many touchdowns as he did in Season 40 could be atrribtued to it. On the plus side, Beatz was able to maintain his volume but drastically count down on his interceptions, down 33% contributing to his higher quarterback rating, his second highest of his ISFL career.

Beatz also managed to get himself nominated for Offensive Performance of the Year from his week 16 performance, letting the fans leave a disappointing season for the franchise on the high of what potential remains in the team. After the season, Beatz completed an interview with local media and is quoted as saying “This team is still young, and whilst we of course want to win the league every season, we know how best is still ahead of us in terms of unlocking the potential we have. Potential will slowly fade into missed opportunities but I know the desire this team has, that I have, and know that we are gonna climb that mountain to the top and get to the peak.

Season 42

Season 43

Season 44

Off the back of his back to back MVP seasons, Beatz was looking to make history as just the second player to three-peat. Unfortunately, his Season 44 performance lagged behind his previous seasons and was unable to accomplish the feat. Under his arm, the Hawks managed to achieve a 12-4 record, however, were bundled out of the playoffs in the Conference Championship game after nudging past Sarasota in the Wildcard round.

Most notably, Preston Beatz’s touchdowns went down this season, recording 32 compared to 38 and 44 in his MVP seasons. As a result, his TD/INT ratio went up, causing a drop in passer rating, 5 points lower than Season 43. Whilst volume remains similar, season 43 proved to be Beatz’ best in terms of completion percentage in the ISFL, 63.9% beating out his Season 39 performance by just 0.1%. The season also saw Beatz accomplish a feat never before done in the ISFL, a 99-yard pass to Rocky Moreaux, breaking the record for the longest pass in the league.

Season 45

S45 was all about consistency for Preston Beatz, ensuring his game stay at the same high level as previous seasons whilst he starts to enter the twilight of his career alongside his star wide receivers. Training became more and more important in order to not allow his skills to regress, and that proved successful as by the end of the season, Beatz had put up similar numbers to his previous 3 seasons.

The hawks looked a lot towards Beatz as their running back group were still young, and he rose to take a team starting to approach the older side of the league to the playoffs. Unfortunately, Beatz and the hawks lost in the wildcard game and bowed out. His work on the field however did not go unnoticed, earning himself a first-team All Pro, and coming extremely close to a third MVP, losing due to the runoff system whilst having twice as many 1st place MVP votes as anyone else.
