Maurice "Mo Money" Gunner (born April 20, 2037) is an American football defensive end for the London Royals of the DSFL. He played college football for Louisiana State University (LSU) before being drafted 2nd overall by the London Royals in the Season 46 DSFL Draft.

Early Years

Maurice "Mo Money" Gunner was born to a teenage mom in Oak Hill, AL. Named after his late grandfather who was a bystander victim in a drive-by shooting, he had a rough up bringing with his mom in and out of prison, and living with grandmother until she passed when he was 17.

As an impoverished youth, he struggled in school and consistently found himself in trouble until a football coach in middle school dedicated extra time to showing Maurice how to play the game. His love for the game accelerated only slightly quicker than his skill and aptitude for playing it.

From the moment he won his first varsity game, Maurice knew he would never tire from the benefits that came with winning and being a champion, and the fame didn't hurt his chances with the ladies either.

As his lost of accolades grew, so did his confidence on and off the field. Some would say its cockiness and borderline arrogance, but Maurice always rested on the words of his late gramps. "It ain't braggin, if you can bring the bag in."

College Career

Gunner played all 4 years of his college career at LSU. For three seasons he was First Team All American & First Team All SEC. He also won SEC DPoY twice while playing in back to back years his Jr. & Sr. years. Other notable awards he won were the Chuck Bednarik Award, Tom Hendricks Award, Lombardi Trophy and Lott Trophy in his last year.

Gunner would go on to finish his college career with 37 sacks, setting a record and entering the history books.

Professional Career - DSFL

S46

Mo Money's debut was highly anticipated given his high draft position and TPE accumulation going into his rookie season. With his new role of DT (he was created as a TE) he quickly looked to have an impact on the game for his team. The first game was lackluster with just 1 tackle, but that was chalked up to nerves as his 2nd game was a dominant performance with 7 tackles, 1 for a loss, a forced fumble and recovery as well. He would continue on to put in solid performances as the season went on, working hard in the gym and studying film to avoid costly penalties and improve his tackling. He finished with strong numbers, especially against the run.

Unfortunately, a two week suspension, which resulted in being perceived as a pariah, came to haunt Mo during his freshman year and his name was dropped from conversations and mocks accordingly when he returned. Mo hadn't changed as a person or a player, and continued to earn, be active and grind it out, in anticipation of finding a home in the ISFL and sticking it to all those who feigned friendship and comradery only to complete abandon him.
