Lyle Taylor (born March 29, 2038) is an American football safety for the New York Silverbacks of the International Simulation Football League (ISFL).

Early years

As a child growing up in England, Lyle Taylor took to the sport of soccer as most young children do and he quickly gained the interest of some of the local youth academies. Taylor bounced around different academies and never found a spot that truly fit his style or coaches that believed in his ability. This never discouraged Taylor but instead made his determination grow even stronger. Taylor kept going to different academies and different programs to try and make a fit work. Coaches would tell him that he should just give up and he doesn't have the ability to play professional sports. Some locations he would only be there a few months and others he managed to stay a season or two. Taylor never gave up but eventually the opportunities began to run slim. Lyle decided ultimately to try and switch sports and that's when he moved to the United States to play a different version of football.

College career

Lyle Taylor didn't have many options when it came to playing football in college because of his limited time actually playing the sport. However USC was one of the few schools that decided to have him on the team and see what position he would best fit after a summer of practice. The coaches at USC all gave him playing time at many different positions, but ultimately Lyle wanted to play safety. For his first year or so Lyle rarely ever made it off the bench but his drive for the game had him showing up on special teams making a few tackles for loss here and there. The coaches saw this and in his junior decided to let him start some games. This is when Taylor started to seem some improvement and his intelligence for the game was skyrocketing. He was still out of position once or twice but was able to start to read the field which lead to some interceptions and big plays. In to his senior year, Lyle Taylor was flying around the field. The safety coaches at USC helped him blossom in to a really intelligent player. This big year helped Lyle get drafted to the Kansas City Coyotes in the DSFL.

DSFL Career

Lyle Taylor was picked off the waivers by the Kansas City Coyotes for the 45th season of the DSFL. Taylor immediately started opposite of Snowy Tuba on a team that didn't have that many expectations. That was until the first week of the season when the Coyotes came out swinging beating the London Royals 62-14. Taylor was rather quiet in this first game as he was still finding his footing. However by week 6, Kansas City was looking at a doomed season being 2-4 and at this point Lyle only had a few tackles, one PD, and one sack. Then the season turned around and the team was able to rally together to go on a 5 win streaks securing a playoff bout and the 1st place in the North Division. Taylor's biggest game of the season came in week 12 when KCC was playing against the Bondi Beach Buccaneers. Lyle racked up 7 tackles, a deflected pass, and an interception returned for a touchdown. However, this wasn't enough as they eventually lost by 3. In the first round of the playoffs, KCC took on POR and the Kansas City defense was on fire as they held Portland to only 10 points while Taylor had a couple tackles helping the team out. In the Ultimini, Lyle Taylor was on fire and ready to play! Taylor had 8 tackles on the day, one pass deflection and on top of that had a pick 6. But, Tijuana was on another level as a team and despite Taylor's best effort KCC lost 16 to 37. This performance in the Ultimini was noted by many scouts of the ISFL and had Lyle Taylor moving up many team's draft boards.

ISFL Career

Lyle Taylor was drafted by the New York Silverbacks with the 20th overall pick in the second round for the 46th season of the ISFL. Taylor was immediately called up and was starting in place for a recently retired NYS legend, Regina Ferraro. The bar was set very high for Lyle and the coaches had lofty expectations. Taylor and the team started the year of pretty quiet going 0-2 with Lyle picking up a few tackles here and there. However in the 3rd week, Taylor and the team shined beating NOLA in a close 38 to 30 game. Lyle Taylor was able to pick up a pass deflection and an interception that helped the team get some points! The rest of the first half of the season was a little rough for the silverbacks going 3-8. In week 11, the team found its rhythm and went on a 5 week long win streak that helped the team almost get back to .500. Lyle also finished much stronger picking up 5 total turnovers and 3 sacks. This rookie season saw Taylor be a finalist for Defensive Rookie of the Year. Although Lyle didn't win the award, he was elated just to be named amongst many other great rookies.
