Luigi Lanikai (born January 1, 2032) is an American football cornerback who is currently preparing to enter the professional ranks. He played college football for University of Hawiia (UH) and has declared his intent to enter the professional ranks next season.

Early years

For Luigi he has always lived his life as second fiddle. He has always been outdone but his older twin Mario. These has caused Luigi to always have that fight in him. While things have come easy to twin Mario, Luigi has developed that killer mentality. From playing the classics (hide and seek, tag, beer pong) at his young age, to his current career, Luigi will always leave everything out on the line. Luigi once hid in a bathroom shortly after papa took his potty break, just because he knew the others refused to venture into this forsaken area. BUT Luigi's best move was when he pants his crush as an icebreaker (this did NOT work). Being from the island he has grown up an island boy and now people will be attempting to mess with the best on Luigi Island. No better place than that hometown feel for our Island boy!

College career

From day one there was no doubt where Luigi was going to attend college and make that push for the Pros. Luigi had even spent the early years of his life committing to life of green. Under those overalls was always an UH shirt. From Rainbow Road to Rainbow Warriors, all the signs were there that Luigi would be taking his talents to the Hawaii program. Most believe the partial scholarship that Luigi was offered was only to sweeten the deal for 5 star recruit Mario. The brothers knew they wanted to continue to dominate on the field together but Luigi continued to be an afterthought in the process. Luigi would continue with underwhelming performance after underwhelming performance. Luigi has since become better know as Mario's brother on campus. While Mario was alway getting the princess Luigi was just hanging in his haunted dorm room hoping that if he continued to push something would finally break through. Let's-a-go!

DSFL career

Luigi Lanikai was draft in the third round of the DSFL to the Kansas City Coyotes who has just come off of a 1 - 13 season. After a great draft class and a trade for their future quarterback the Kansas City Coyotes flipped that record to a 13-1 S39 season heading into the playoffs. In the conference championship we would face our rivals in the Minnesota Greyducks, the team that handed them their sole loss this season. After a close battle the Coyotes would revenge the Ducks and move on to Norfolk in the Ultimini. KCC went on to beat the Seawolves for their first championship in over 10+ seasons. Luigi played a support role all season as CB2 with his partner in crime Seth Levitt at CB1. With Luigi having an inside track on his ISFL destination, he will likely be a one and done once drafts are announced this offseason. Luigi plans to try and fill some big shoes in the ISFL to a struggling team. Hopefully the youth of this team sticks together for brighter days ahead!

Luigi Lanikai and his teammates were facing a very low bar entering season 39. With a winless season 38 there was not much worse it could get. If this group could put together one fluke win, it would be enough to send this team to celebrate in the streets. After an 0-7 start the Hahalua with the sport of Luigi and his fellow S39ers, got their first win vs the newly rebranded Cape Town Crush. This would give the team all they needed for the season, but the Hahalua were able to pull out two more wins against fellow ASFC rivals. Ending the Season 3-13 they held the number one pick which will be used to continue to grow this young core into championship contenders. Brighter days ahead on the island and Luigi and his buddies are ready for the hard work ahead. The Hahalua will be exiting the tank mindset and be on full attack entering season 40!

In his second season in the ISFL Luigi made great strides in the his defensive performance by extending his tackles this season by 50 percent more than his rookie season. While Luigi continues to grow the young defense is learning to work together while the offense does what they can. The hahalua went 5-11 this season improving from their season 39 performance. They hope to continue their growth in future years as the core of this defense grows together. After a season with no defense teammates earning awards they have set out on a mission to shock the world. Luigi played both Nickelback and inside middle linebacker for the Hahalua in his season 40 playing. He looks in future years to move to Cornerback with partner in crime Seth Levitt. This duo looks to take on the high power offenses in the ISFL. Luigi offseason goals are to hit the weight room and beef up.

After 2 rough season to start Luigi's career he finally had a breakout season to help the Hahalua capture the 1 seed in the ASFC. After a combined 8 wins in his first two season he was able to play a big role in the Hahalau's 11 win season. This was also the first season Luigi has taken over the CB1 role rather than the support fo CB2. Luigi answered the call and had just under 100 tackles and 4 interceptions in his S41 campaign, which included a 2 interception game vs the Yellowknife Wraiths in week 13. Additionally he had a pick 6 on the the season. Both were career first in this winning season. Luigi really focused on his intelligence in this season by focusing endless hours on the opponents film. This should not only help him grow as a player but continue to elevate his teammates. Next step for Luigi is softening those hands to pump up those INT numbers. High tackles are a good team stat but hope to lower those numbers with less completions in S42.

Luigi finished S42 with a sub par stat line but played a contributing role in the HON defense. Honolulu Hahalua ended the season at 10-6 and secured the three seed in a very tough division.Despite being second-tier to Quarterstorm, he has proven to be the ultimate team player, constantly putting the team's success above all else.Luigi's dedication to training has improved his physical fitness and stamina, making him a relentless force on the field. Moreover, his leadership and sportsmanship have earned him respect both from teammates and rivals. All thought his hard work has not always translated to the field he is able to continue to bring that positive attitude to the game with a high morale. Luigi has spent alot of his off time this season really getting involved in the community hoping to become a fan favorite as HON pushed to bring home a championship.
