Joe Ruddy (born April 5, 2028) is an American football safety for the Tijuana Luchadores of the Developmental Simulation Football League (DSFL).

Early years

Born and raised in the remote village of Otterburn in Northern England, Joe spent most of his early childhood roaming the hills, and playing rugby with large stones. When Joe turned 8, he began working at his father's machine shop. At the age of 10, Joe's mother and father passed away, and Joe began running the shop himself. At the age of 12, Joe voluntarily started training with the soldiers at the nearby training area. During a shooting drill, Joe was struck in the lower leg by a richocheting bullet. Rather than notify the medic, Joe later removed the lodged bullet himself at home. Joe continued training with the soldiers, and began leading exercises that involved sprinting up hills and scaling the local castle walls. When Joe turned 16, he sold the machine shop and decided he would use the profit to travel to the United States to attend a university there.

College career

As a walk-on at Dartmouth, Ruddy quickly impressed coaches with his natural athletisicm, grit, and discipline. After a single season of learning the game, he became a starter at defensive back. As a sophomore, Joe set the school record for most passes deflected in a single season (31). It was expressed by coaches that Joe could have had many interceptions his sophomore year, but Joe had trouble catching the footballs due to their softness. During the first game of his junior season, Ruddy suffered a broken neck in the first quarter, but he did not leave the game. He ended the game with 8 solo tackles and his first interception, all of which came after his injury. Due to liability concerns, college administration made Joe sit out the rest of the season. In his final year at Darmouth, Joe had improved his catching ability. He ended the year with 16 interceptions, breaking the single season record for Dartmouth.
