Jean-Ralphio Saperstein (born December 12, 1985) is an American football defensive end who is currently preparing to enter the professional ranks. He played college football for Pawnee Community College (PCC) before going undrafted in the 2051 ISFL Draft (S36).

Early years

Born to Dr. Lu Saperstein in Pawnee, Indiana, along with his twin sister, Mona-Lisa. Jean-Ralphio has no memory of his mother, but his father spoiled both children from an early age. Jean-Ralphio spent most of his childhood skipping school and hanging around his father's Obstetrician office, often asking for money. His father always obliged. This created several character flaws in Jean-Ralphio that worsened as he got older. His work ethic left much to be desired, and he had no concept of fiscal responsibility. Jean-Ralphio enjoyed success, but often had little patience for any of the effort that was required to be successful. He made it through middle and high school by paying the smarter kids in class to complete his homework and projects with perfect scores, which allowed him to barely pass his classes as he failed most of his quizzes and tests. Jean-Ralphio rued the fact that the face-copying technology in the Mission Impossible films was not currently feasible, as this would have allowed someone else to take his tests for him. He asked his father for several million dollars to begin development on this technology, but this was one of the very few times his father denied his request. Jean-Ralphio did find enjoyment in high school football. Initially he wanted to play quarterback as it was the most popular position, but the coaches quickly realized he lacked any sort of football knowledge, and quickly placed him as a defensive end with one goal in mind: sack the quarterback. Jean-Ralphio's thin frame meant he almost always had to resort to speed techniques. The Pawnee High teams were notoriously bad, though, and never won a game during his 4 years of playing.

College career

As Jean-Ralphio began to look at colleges, he quickly realized he would have to attend a local college to be able to get money from his father. His grades also limited him, which led to him choosing Pawnee Community College. Dr. Saperstein injected a ton of cash into the school's football program, with the caveat that Jean-Ralphio start as defensive end. The school agreed, and Jean-Ralphio was able to start all four years during his college tenure. The team never won a game, but Jean-Ralphio shined as speedy edge rusher that could get to the quarterback at will. He would have received interest from larger schools, but there remained lingering questions over his motor and drive to compete at a high level. Jean-Ralphio is ready to put those questions to bed as he enters the DSFL draft shortly. He's already hired Tom Haverford as his agent, and has spent a fortune on personal trainers and social media influencers to build his reputation for the upcoming draft.

Career

S34

With his college career behind him, Jean-Ralphio decided to enter the DSFL waiver wire mid-season. With 4 games left, Jean-Ralphio was claimed off waivers by the Norfolk Seawolves. Norfolk was having a rough season, which left them in pretty bad shape for the rest of the season, but high enough in the waiver order to claim him before other teams could snatch up the talented Defensive End prospect. Jean-Ralphio had never even heard of Norfolk until he received a call from their GM that he would be playing for the team. Of course he pretended that he knew, but as soon as the call ended he quickly pulled out his smart phone and Googled which details he would need to know.

Jean-Ralphio had a limited impact in his few games on the defense. He did manage to have a strip sack and fumble recovery, to go along with several tackles, 3 sacks, and a lone tackle for loss. He enjoyed his time on the team and looks forward to what next season has in store for him in the upcoming draft.

S35

Jean-Ralphio was drafted deep into the DSFL draft by the Kansas City Coyotes. Nobody is quite sure how this happened. Character concerns? Lack of work ethic? Jean-Ralphio prided himself on being exactly who he was in team interviews, per reports. We may never know. What we do know is Jean-Ralphio had one of the most impressive defensive seasons of all time in the DSFL. He broke the record for sacks in a single season at 18. A number that surprised even himself. This earned him several awards, including Defensive End of the Year and Defensive Player of the Year, as well.

The Coyotes did come up short in their quest for an Ultimini, losing a close game in the championship. Jean-Ralphio commented after the game that the loss was heartbreaking, and that it would take him at least several hours to fully recover. It only took him about 30 minutes. He eagerly awaited the next stage of his career: the ISFL.

S36

After a standout prior season in the DSFL that left him with multiple awards, Jean-Ralphio was in for a bit of a rude awakening in his first ISFL action. He finished the season with 47 tackles, which is not a terrible number, as he showed he could bring down runners at the next level. He also notched 6 tackles for loss. Despite somewhat limited snaps, Jean-Ralphio spent a lot of time in the backfield blowing up plays, especially compared to players of his similar skill-level. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said for his sacking skills. Having set the record in the DSFL in his previous season, Jean-Ralphio had just one sack the entire season for the Copperheads. He had a very hard time getting by opposing offensive tackles on passing downs, and will need to improve this area of his game greatly if he expects to have a successful future in the league.

The Copperheads finished the season a disappointing 7-9, missing out on a playoff berth.
