Honey Humphries (born May 2, 2032) is an American football safety who is currently preparing to enter the professional ranks. He played college football for Austin College before being drafted by the Tijuana Luchadores in the 2057 DSFL Draft (S42).

Early years

Honey Humphries was born to two unknown grizzly bears in Kodiak, Alaska. After being found abandoned at a campsite by a kind older couple. They named him Honey because of his golden fur and sweet personality. He eventually learned how to read, write, and was very intelligent for a bear, which Honey attributes to his diet the was high in salmon. He was a standout for the Kodiak Highschool Bears, starting at safety and tight end since his freshman season. The Bears went to the playoffs every year of Honey's highschool career, winning the Alaska State Championship his senior year. Despite his successful highschool career, he did not attract any major college scholarship offers as schools were wary of having a bear on campus. Honey even payed for his own unofficial visits to a few D1 schools in Washington and Oregon, but to no avail. The only school to offer Honey a full ride scholarship was Austin College, which made his decision to attend a no-brainer.

College career

Honey Humphries attended Austin College in Austin, Texas. In his freshman season, he did not see the field at all. He was not redshirted but the depth of the 'Roos defense meant he was never needed. He was also deemed slightly too heavy to play in the defensive backfiled, weighing in at 260lbs. However, in his sophomore season, Honey emerged from the offseason at a lean 220lbs. He quickly earned a starting spot at safety and was voted captain by his teammates, a role he would keep until graduation. The 'Roos went 2-8 on the year but their defense was ranked 2nd in the conference. Honey led the team in tackles. The following year was much of the same with the 'Roos going 3-7 despite having the #1 ranked defense in the conference and #3 ranked defense in the nation. Honey led the team in tackles, forced fumbles, fumble recoveries, interceptions, and defensive touchdowns. In his senior campaign, the 'Roos put together a decent season going 8-2, falling just short of the playoffs. Honey Humphries again led his team in various defensive categories and set school records for tackles in a season. This performance attracted enough interest from the DSFL that enable him to enter the S42 DSFL Prospect Bowl.

After a quiet performance in the S42 DSFL Prospect Bowl, Honey Humphries was selected by the Tiujana Luchadores in the 5th round with the 34th overall pick. He set out to become a reliable player and last line of defense. As a rookie, Honey started at safety. He joined a solid defensive unit consisting of Synyster Gates, Dino Nuggies, Logjammed McBobface, and others. Honey had a decent rookie campaign, finishing with 45 tackles, 7 pass deflections, and 1 sack. Honey earned three gameballs this season. The Luchadores would go on to have a great season, better than the 8-5-1 record would let on. Winning their division, the Luchadores advanced to the playoffs and knocked off the Bondi Beach Buccanners before winning the Ultimini over the Kansas City Coyotes. Being apart of the great defense of the Luchadores greatly benefited Honey, garnering him interest from ISFL team that would cut his DSFL career short.
