Dip Dhillon (born January 1, 2029) is an American football wide receiver who is currently preparing to enter the professional ranks.He played college football for Arizona State University (ASU) and has declared his intent to enter the professional ranks next season.

Early years

Dip Dhillon was born in Phoenix, Arizona on January 1st, 2028. When asked about the origin of his first name, Dhillon has stated that his parents' favorite food has always been chips with guacamole, with the name coming from the diping action involved when eating the food. Dhillon himself, however, despises guacamole, according to a 2048 interview. Dhillon's family moved to Oklahoma when he was a year old. Dhillon attended Barnard Elementary School in Tulsa, Oklahoma, the same elementary school attended by NFL star Tyler Lockett. Dhillon parents, who both hold PhD's from Harvard University, stressed academics from a young age. Dip moved back to Arizona with his family during his 8th grade year for his dad's job. Dhillon enrolled in Packer High School in Tempe, Arizona for high school. Dhillon did not join the football team his freshman year. The summer before his sophomore year, Dhillon decided that he wanted to try out on the football team in the fall. Dhillon spent the summer training everyday at a nearby park. In a 2049 interview, Dhillon claimed that "I woke up at 7 am and came back home at 7 pm. I pretty much lived at the park that summer." Dhillon's sophomore season was spent on the Junior Varsity team for the Packer High Cheeseheads. Dhillon amassed 500 receiving yards and 9 touchdowns that year, his first season playing organized football. Recognizing his talent, the head coach for the varsity team asked him to workout with the varsity players in the offseason. Dip made big strides and became the WR2 for the cheeseheads. Going into his junior season, Dhillon had high expectations for himself, however, during practice a week before the season opener, Dhillon tore the Rectus Femoris in his left quadricep and missed the entire season. Dhillon considered quitting football following his injury, however, a close friend of his convinced him to keep rehabbing and come back and play the next year. Dip came back his senior year as the WR3 for the Cheeseheads. In each of the first 3 games of his senior year, Dhillon had over 100 receiving yards and a touchdown. He ended the season with a conference-leading 1,254 receiving yards and 15 touchdowns. The Cheeseheads finished with a 10-2 record and won the 5A-North State Championship. In the title game against the Skol College Preparatory Vikings, Dhillon made a 45-yard catch on 4th down which set up the game-winning kick as time expired. Despite the steller senior season, Dhillon only recieved 2 D1 offers: one from the hometown Arizona State University and one from his parents' alma mater Harvard. Dhillon was initially drawn to Harvard due to the steller academics and the connection to his parents. However, after a visit to ASU and meetings with the coaching staff, Dip changed his mind and became set on ASU. Much to his parents' dismay, Dhillon committed to ASU in May of his senior year. Dhillon parents were outraged when he told them he wanted to turn down Harvard but was able to talk them down and received their blessing to sign with the Sun Devils.

College career

As a true freshman in 2046, Dhillon saw immediate playing time as ASU had lost 3 receivers who declared for the draft at the end of the previous season. Dhillon recored 47 receptions for 1057 yards and 5 touchdowns. His 22.4 yards per catch ranked 2nd in the nation and 1st in the Pac-12. ASU finished with a 11-1 record en route to a Pac-12 championship. The most memorable moment of the season would be Dhillon's 58-yard touchdown in the final seconds of the Rose Bowl against Stanford. Dhillon caught an 8-yard pass at the 50 yard line and juked 3 Stanford defenders that swarmed him, leaving him open to run 50-yards into the endzone to win the game for Arizona State. Dhillon won Pac-12 freshman year of the year for his efforts. Dhillon's sophomore and junior seasons were marred by injury. Dhillon tore the Vastus Medialis in his right leg during a week 3 matchup against Colorado State. Dhillon finished his sophomore year with 15 receptions for 185 yards. Dhillon missed the first 2 games of his junior season due to a nagging foot injury. In a week 6 matchup against Northern Arizona University, Dhillon suffered a concussion on an illegal hit by a NAU player. Dhillon missed the rest of the season due to continuing dizziness and nausea. He finished his junior season with 17 receptions for 200 yards. Dhillon refused a medical redshirt during both seasons. In 2049, Dhillon returned to training camp healthy for the first time since his freshman year. An injury to ASU's starting quarterback lead to many run plays. This hindered Dhillon's production as he only recorded 35 receptions for 500 yards and 2 touchdowns on the season. Following the conclusion of his senior season, Dhillon declared for the DSFL draft.

DSFL Career

DSFL Rookie Year

Prior to the DSFL draft, many analysts had Dhillon being taken in the late second round. Dhillon was listed as the #3 receiver in the class, behind Matthew Mara and Delores Bickerman. Dhillon was quoted before the draft saying that he considered himself a first-rounder and that “the only receiver better than me is Mara.” Dhillon was drafted in the 3rd round with the 17th overall pick by the Bondi Beach Buccaneers. Dhillon was the 5th receiver taken. Dhillon entered training camp as the WR2 behind star receiver Derrick Prine. As the season progressed, Dhillon soon became the WR1. Dhillon lead the team in receptions, receiving yards, and receiving touchdowns as a rookie. Dip finished with 52 receptions, 977 yards, and 7 touchdowns. Dhillon led the league with 18.8 yards per catch. Dhillon had a career-high 138 receiving yards and 2 touchdowns in a week 4 game against the London Royals. Bondi Beach would make the playoffs for the first time in 8 seasons.
