"Prince" Dennis Minott (born May 31, 1975) is an american football coach and reggae singer, currently employed by the Philadelphia Liberty of the National Simulation Football League as a defensive backs coach.

Early life
Dennis Minott was born in Oakland, California, to Dorothy and Errol Minott, Jamaican immigrants from Saint Catherine Parish.

Minott managed to get onto the football team at Louisiana State, but mostly operated as a reserve. In his four years of college, he made just eleven appearances for the Tigers, before retiring with a degree in Physical Education and Education.
Coaching career
College
Minott began his coaching career as a graduate assistant at his alma mater, LSU, in 2000, working under Nick Saban, before becoming an assistant defensive backs coach in 2002. He would remain in this position for three years, cultivating a reputation as a "players' coach", and forming bonds with several players on the roster. When Saban left for Miami in 2005, Minott followed, reprising his role as an assistant defensive backs coach. When Saban left Miami at the end of 2006, Minott, uncertain of his future with the Dolphins, began seeking alternative employment.
Europe
Shortly after his contract was terminated, he secured a role in Germany, becoming defensive backs coach for the Hamburg Sea Devils in NFL Europe. The Sea Devils had endured a tough season in 2006, but ended the 2007 season with a 7-3 record and went on to win World Bowl XV. Unfortunately, NFL ceased operation of NFL Europe that same year, but Minott was invited to join the German national team coaching staff. Germany would go on to finish third in the 2007 IFAF World Championship, losing to the United States in the group stage, but shutting out Sweden in the third-place playoff.
After the IFAF World Championship in Japan, Minott struggled to find work again, and with cash running low, he and his wife moved to stay with cousins in Birmingham, England. While in Birmingham, Minott spent some time on the coaching staff of the Birmingham Bulls on a voluntary basis, while seeking a paid position elsewhere. Via connections with the Bulls, Minott was offered a part-time role at the University of Birmingham, coaching the Birmingham Lions in exchange for the scholarship fees for a master's degree in Education (higher education).
Return to the United States
Shortly after completing his degree, Minott would get a call back from Howard University, and flew back to the United States, leaving his wife in England for the time being.
At Howard, Minott worked his way up. Starting as an assistant defensive backs coach, he eventually became defensive co-ordinator in 2015, and finally head coach in 2017. After two seasons as head coach, Minott resigned to take a coaching position under his mentor Nick Saban yet again, at Alabama. Howard came calling once again in 2020, though, and Minott returned to take up his old role as head coach. Back at Howard, he would be reunited with his wife and children; who had remained in D.C. for the length of his stint in Alabama, and played a critical role in recruiting Lennox Garnett for the Bison in 2021, by speaking at length with his parents.
In his second stint as head coach with Howard (2020-2026), Minott helped to lead the Bison to two Celebration Bowl wins (2023, 2024).
National Simulation Football League
In 2026 (S11), Minott was offered a position on staff with the Philadelphia Liberty after being recommended by their first overall draft pick that year, Lennox Garnett. He accepted an advisory role only, helping to shape their young secondary into one of the NSFL's stronger units.
Toward the end of the 2026 (S11) season, Minott became aware of a leadership vacancy in Yellowknife, with the Wraiths, and applied for the position. After some promising talks with his would-be co-general manager, it looked as though he would be moving north. However, before an announcement could be made, the Philadelphia Liberty revealed they too would be hiring a new assistant general manager. Minott also applied for this position, keen to work with Garnett again. A few days later, he was offered the job, and was announced in the role shortly after.
At the end of the 2030 (S15) season, in which the Liberty were defeated in the NSFC Championship game by arch-rivals Hawks, Minott announced he would be resigning from his position in Philadelphia for personal reasons. The Liberty reached the NSFC Championship game in all four of his seasons as assistant general manager, winning once. A year after resigning, he returned to Philly in a diminished role, as a defensive backs coach.

Personal life
Minott married Leonie McCarthy in 2005, and the pair have four children together; Stacy-Ann (b. 2007), Charlene (b. 2009), Allyson (b. 2012), and Dushane (b. 2015). The two oldest were both born in England, while the youngest, Dushane, plays basketball for the Milwaukee Maulers of the Simulation Basketball Association. In 2030, Minott was named as godfather to the first-born child of Lennox Garnett.
While living in England, Minott performed sporadically as a reggae singer, thanks to his cousin "Sugar". Taking the stage name "Prince", and performing as an opening act for Steel Pulse, he would also feature on the compilation album Pato Banton and Friends. His work would lead to a one-album deal with RAS Records, and a minor hit in Japan with the single Wood and Water.
His resignation from the assistant general manager position in Philadelphia was due to his mother's terminal cancer diagnosis. The Liberty would later accommodate a move to Philadelphia for the entire family, allowing Dennis to return to the club in a coaching role. He would later depart again, in 2040, to join his protege Lennox Garnett in Europe, working with his Rock River Rumble Camps.
