Blacksmith Andre (born January 1, 2032) is an American football offensive lineman for the Myrtle Beach Buccaneers of the Developmental Simulation Football League (DSFL).

Early years

Blacksmith Andre was never given an actual last name, as it was not common from where he grew up, instead you were titled as Andre was, Blacksmith Andre, since it was his profession. He learned of blacksmithing from a young age and had an affinity for metals. There was quite the family history for blacksmithing, as Andre's father did it, and the father before, and so on and so forth for as long as the record books could show it. He always wanted to improve his abilites, and was able to continue to craft his skill to a T. Until he was transported by some chaos magic that a tarnished had cast, and he had wound up in America. His build was noticed when he appeared on a random football field in California and he was recruited to go play football. He had zero experience with what an actual football was, but he was such a great equipment manager that he just had to stick around, repairing and altering equipment for the players on the fly.

College career

Andre never played football until he showed up one day in the United States, so his time in California was quite a bewilderment. He learned on the fly, and Andre felt that if he could figure out Blacksmithing, football would be no different for him to learn. He went to the Blacksmithing College of Anor Londo back home, but when he showed up in California, he was enrolled in CAL (University of California, Berkeley) and was the equipment manager while being apart of the scout team. CAL wanted to keep him on the Scout Team, since they had never seen such a physical specimen like Blacksmith Andre before, but he never really had the motivational speeches, mostly saying things like "Prithee, be careful, I don't want to see m' work squandered!" as they would run onto the field. Blacksmith Andre worked closely with the Offensive line coaches at CAL, so even if he would not see the field for his time in College, he would be able to continue his work as a Blacksmith, as well as be able to push that work further down the lines for whatever team might want or need him when he would finish school.

Professional career

2055

Blacksmith Andre was picked up off the waivers by the Bondi Beach Buccaneers to play in their final four games in Season 40. Blacksmith Andre had quite a quiet first season, as he racked up 11 pancakes to go along with 3 sacks allowed through those four games. The Bondi Beach Buccaneers were able to make the playoffs, and Blacksmith Andre showed he was able to shine with his strength and speed in the playoffs. Through 2 games in the playoffs, Blacksmith Andre was able to record 7 pancakes and no sacks allowed, as the Bondi Beach Buccaneers were able to come away with a victory, and an Ultimini. Blacksmith Andre was able to show a lot of characteristics that he had not shown previously, as he was able to pick up a lot of knowledge with actual gametime experience, and was able to get his feet under him and his hands in front of him.

2056

Blacksmith Andre was able to show enough to the Bondi Beach Buccaneers in his six game sample to be their pick with the 8th Overall position in the Season 41 DSFL Draft. Upon coming back to Bondi Beach, Blacksmith Andre had a score to settle and wanted to show everyone that those three sacks he gave up the previous season was a fluke. Even though Bondi Beach started off poorly, going 0-5 to start the season, Blacksmith Andre was doing everything in his power to make sure the team made the right choice in drafting them. They were able to win 6 of their last 9 games, and the team finished 6-8, and were able to squeak into the playoffs, thanks to Norfolk. The Bondi Beach Buccaneers were bounced out of the playoffs in the First round, but not before Blacksmith Andre could make his abilities felt. Throughout the season, Blacksmith Andre was the second best Offensive Lineman in the league, securing 75 pancakes, while allowing 0 sacks allowed. In the playoffs, Blacksmith Andre was able to secure 8 Pancakes against the Tijuana Luchadores, and not allow a sack. He was then drafted by the San Jose Sabercats with the 6th Overall Pick in the Season 42 ISFL Draft.

2057

In 2057, Blacksmith Andre was one of the few true rookies to be called up by his team. The San Jose Sabercats brought Blacksmith Andre up from Bondi Beach, where he got to say his goodbyes, and moved him into the interior part of the Offensive Line and played him at Center for the season. This was all new for Blacksmith Andre, as his last few seasons he played at Tackle exclusively. It was quite the adjustment period for Blacksmith Andre, but with the assistance of coaches, in particular Ben Longshaw, the Offensive Line Coach, it was quite a smooth transition. While Blacksmith Andre himself did not allow a single sack during the season, the line vastly underperformed and allowed Owen Farrell to get sacked a league leading 36 times, while also posting the league’s 6th worst number of pancakes, at 588. This season was horrible as a team, but one for Blacksmith Andre to make the Pro Bowl and Second Team All Pro as an interior lineman.

2058

In 2058, Blacksmith Andre saw a move from the inside at Center to outside, and he played Left Tackle for the San Jose Sabercats. It was quite a change for Blacksmith Andre, as he felt that he had come a long way to play the inside, but he was going back to his natural roots of being a Tackle, as he was for the Bondi Beach Buccaneers. Outside, Blacksmith Andre had seen a huge jump in his ability and protection schemes, even though he had finally allowed his first sack since his waiver wire days, but for most of the season he was able to lead the league in Pancakes. Coming down to the end of the season though, Bengal Tigerheart and Dusty Wilson were able to pass him, with 138 and 143 pancakes each. Overall though, Blacksmith Andre really made San Jose's Offensive Line stand out as he recorded a staggering 137 with only 3 sacks allowed, more then anyone else on the San Jose Sabercats by a large margin. Being third in the league was no slouch either.

2059

In 2059, Blacksmith Andre saw yet another change, but this time it was from Offensive Lineman to Cornerback. During the Off-season and pre-season, Blacksmith Andre had to drop over 115 pounds just to make sure he could cut weight, and it was a rough change. Dropping that much weight just to make sure you can make it as a Cornerback is a life changing experience. After dropping all that weight, it was also quite a hard change to switch to learn how to play Cornerback. Also, outside of cutting all that weight, he also switched numbers, which he now rocks 33. There was a lot of training, two a days and three a days with John Canton (The Cornerbacks Coach) To make sure Blacksmith Andre could adapt to the position in time for the pre-season and regular season. Once all that went through, Blacksmith Andre came out the gate on the fly, really trying to adjust, and the season showed. Through 16 games, he recorded 70 tackles (with 2 missed tackles), 3 Forced Fumbles, A fumble recovery, and his first career interception to go along with 15 passes deflected. There were a lot of blown coverages and a lot of just out of position playing and learning on the fly, but all in all, Blacksmith Andre has potentially found his new home on the outside.

2060

In 2060, Blacksmith Andre had seen an uptick in his roles on the team, in the locker room, and on the field as a whole. Blacksmith Andre has started to feel more comfortable in his role as a cornerback, and it was showing throughout the season. While he wasn’t an interception machine, he did register a career-high in pass deflections (or defenses, however you want to read that) with 21, and a career-high in interceptions with 3. While it’s only been two seasons at cornerback, that is a vast improvement from the season before. He did register less tackles then the year before, with less forced fumbles, but he did also have less missed tackles to go with the rest of it. Overall, while Blacksmith Andre was feeling confident in his ability to play cornerback, the team still came up quite poorly in the end of it, to finish with a record of 6-10, third worst in the league. Hopefully the team can continue to improve offensively to give the defense some rest.

2061

In 2061, Blacksmith Andre was named the captain of the defense for the San Jose Sabercats and saw how the team could preform like most have thought for a long time. They came out of the gate blasting, winning their first 5 games in a row, before falling on the road to Austin. They then lost again on the road in Arizona, but even then, sitting at 5-2 7 weeks into the season was a blessing. They then went on to win their next two games and were sitting pretty at 7-2. Everything came tumbling down from there. They ended up winning only two of their next 7 games and finished with a record of 9-7. To say that was defeating is an understatement. What had started and looked like a promising year was devoured by the bloodbath that is the ASFC. San Jose’s defense started so hot, and was still the best pass defense in the league, but the rush defense was horrid and the points allowed wasn’t all too pretty either. Sadly though, it was a tale as old as time, as the San Jose Offense was near the bottom of every category and let the defense down again. Andre had yet another shit season, amassing 72 tackles, 1 forced fumble, 2 interceptions and 11 pass deflections.
