William Y. Lim (born June 9, 1999) is an American football wide receiver who is currently unsigned by a professional team. He played college football for Seoul (SEL) and has declared his intent to enter the professional ranks next season.

Early years

William Lim was born on June 9th, 1999, In Seoul, South Korea. Lim started playing baseball since he was 5, first as a pitcher, and soonafter as a shortstop which became his permanent position until the end of his baseball career. As a middle School Graduate, Lim was a highly sought after shortstop prospect who recorded .323 average, 12doubles and 4 home runs on top of his superb defensive ability in his final season in middle school. Although four prestigious division 1(highest division in Korean high school athletics)actively recruited him, even promising starting shortstop spots, Lim committed to the KMLA Admirals, a lower end division 1 team more known for its academics. Lim was a three-year starter with the admirals, flaunting his defensive abilities and earning the nickname "the vacuum cleaner" as he routinely made almost impossible-looking catches. However, his batting stats were unimpressive at best, with a total batting average of .262 and only one home run as he struggled to adapt to wooden bats, which are used in high school level and higher in Korean elite baseball. That, along with his mediocre throwing power for a shortstop, kept Lim from being drafted by the Korean pro baseball league despite his defensive attributes, which was often commented"pro level" by various scouts. Lim considered this the end of baseball career at that time, and walked on to Seoul university

College career

Lim walked on to Seoul university as a political science major, without any intentions to play in their baseball team. However, he was soon persuaded to play in the university's baseball team. As a college baseball player, Lim retained his brilliance in defensive ability from his high school yeras, but continued to be unimpressive in the offensive side of the ball, recording .255 batting average without any home runs throuout his short university career. Lim withdrew from the team early into his sophomore campaign, as he sought after careers other than baseball like law or politics. However, Lim was soonafter recruited by the school's football team as a wide receiver, and he accepted the position as the football team didn't impend on his academics much. Lim adapted to football quite well as he played recreational football in high school also as a wide receiver, and knew the basics of being one. Lim played only 7 games in his sophomore season due to him joining the team late, and recorded 550 receiving yards and 3 receiving touchdowns as he became the best receiver in the team with his good hands. Lim played and started all 12 games in his junior season, recording 1,058 receiving yards and 7 receiving touchdowns. Lim also assumed the role of kick/punt returner and returned a punt for touchdown in his junior season. He started to receive some scouter attention as his training and gameday videos gained popularity in youtube. Lim graduated early from the seoul university and sent applications for the DSFL draft following his junior season

2036 Season

Lim was drafted by the Dallas Birddogs with the 46th overall pick of 2036 DSFL draft. Lim was projected to be 3rd~ 5th wide receiver off the board, and was the 5th wide receiver selected, after Eddie Jeeta, Thomas Passman, Kevin Koh, and William Alexander.

After he was drafted, Lim earned the starting spot as the WR1 of the Birddogs. This was possible because the Birddogs, an expansion team beginning their inaugural season, had no players from previous seasons and Lim was the best available wide receiver on the roster, as he was the most reliable option as well as having a decent speed. Before the Season, Lim was projected to be a key contributor in the Birddogs offense led by rookie quarterback Monteray Jack.

In week 1 game in the road against the London Royals, Lim made a quite impressive debut as he caught 7 passes out of 10 headed his way and recorded 85 receiving yards with longest reception of 24 yards. Lim's performance in the game was one of the redeeming points for the Birddogs in the middle of a 34-7 loss, and Lim was later named the team MVP for the game.

At week 5 home game against the Myrtle beach Buccaneers, Lim had the most efficient game of his career as he generated 85 receiving yards out of 4 catches with the longest of 37 yards as he was only targeted 5 times.

As the season progressed, receiving opportunities became rarer for Lim as he was targeted a lot less than originally anticipated, as the team adopted a very run heavy offensive scheme- something very common among DSFL teams- as rushing attack was deemed more effective than passing attack, due to various reasons.

The first touchdown of Lim's career came in athe second quarter of the week 11 game against the Kansas city Coyotes. Lim caught a pass thrown by Monteray Jack from the KCC 30 yard line near the KCC 10 yard line, and proceeded to carry thr ball for the remaining 10 yards despite being tackled by teo Coyotes defenders. That touchdown sparked a comeback that almost succeeded.

At the end of 2036 season, Lim recorded 595 yards and 1 TD, while showing a big improvement in speed and agility.
