William Y. Lim (born June 9, 1999) is an American football wide receiver for the Colorado Yeti of the NSFL. He played college football at Seoul University(SEL) and played for the Dallas Birddogs in the DSFL.

Early years

William Lim was born on June 9th, 1999, In Seoul, South Korea. Lim started playing baseball since he was 5, first as a pitcher, and soonafter as a shortstop which became his permanent position until the end of his baseball career. As a middle School Graduate, Lim was a highly sought after shortstop prospect who recorded .323 average, 12doubles and 4 home runs on top of his superb defensive ability in his final season in middle school. Although four prestigious division 1(highest division in Korean high school athletics)actively recruited him, even promising starting shortstop spots, Lim committed to the KMLA Admirals, a lower end division 1 team more known for its academics. Lim was a three-year starter with the admirals, flaunting his defensive abilities and earning the nickname "the vacuum cleaner" as he routinely made almost impossible-looking catches. However, his batting stats were unimpressive at best, with a total batting average of .262 and only one home run as he struggled to adapt to wooden bats, which are used in high school level and higher in Korean elite baseball. That, along with his mediocre throwing power for a shortstop, kept Lim from being drafted by the Korean pro baseball league despite his defensive attributes, which was often commented"pro level" by various scouts. Lim considered this the end of baseball career at that time, and walked on to Seoul university

College career

Lim walked on to Seoul university as a political science major, without any intentions to play in their baseball team. However, he was soon persuaded to play in the university's baseball team. As a college baseball player, Lim retained his brilliance in defensive ability from his high school yeras, but continued to be unimpressive in the offensive side of the ball, recording .255 batting average without any home runs throuout his short university career. Lim withdrew from the team early into his sophomore campaign, as he sought after careers other than baseball like law or politics. However, Lim was soonafter recruited by the school's football team as a wide receiver, and he accepted the position as the football team didn't impend on his academics much. Lim adapted to football quite well as he played recreational football in high school also as a wide receiver, and knew the basics of being one. Lim played only 7 games in his sophomore season due to him joining the team late, and recorded 550 receiving yards and 3 receiving touchdowns as he became the best receiver in the team with his good hands. Lim played and started all 12 games in his junior season, recording 1,058 receiving yards and 7 receiving touchdowns. Lim also assumed the role of kick/punt returner and returned a punt for touchdown in his junior season. He started to receive some scouter attention as his training and gameday videos gained popularity in youtube. Lim graduated early from the seoul university and sent applications for the DSFL draft following his junior season

2036 Season

Lim was drafted by the Dallas Birddogs with the 46th overall pick of 2036 DSFL draft. Lim was projected to be 3rd~ 5th wide receiver off the board, and was the 5th wide receiver selected, after Eddie Jeeta, Thomas Passman, Kevin Koh, and William Alexander.

After he was drafted, Lim earned the starting spot as the WR1 of the Birddogs. This was possible because the Birddogs, an expansion team beginning their inaugural season, had no players from previous seasons and Lim was the best available wide receiver on the roster, as he was the most reliable option as well as having a decent speed. Before the Season, Lim was projected to be a key contributor in the Birddogs offense led by rookie quarterback Monteray Jack.

In week 1 game in the road against the London Royals, Lim made a quite impressive debut as he caught 7 passes out of 10 headed his way and recorded 85 receiving yards with longest reception of 24 yards. Lim's performance in the game was one of the redeeming points for the Birddogs in the middle of a 34-7 loss, and Lim was later named the team MVP for the game.

At week 5 home game against the Myrtle beach Buccaneers, Lim had the most efficient game of his career as he generated 85 receiving yards out of 4 catches with the longest of 37 yards as he was only targeted 5 times.

As the season progressed, receiving opportunities became rarer for Lim as he was targeted a lot less than originally anticipated, as the team adopted a very run heavy offensive scheme- something very common among DSFL teams- as rushing attack was deemed more effective than passing attack, due to various reasons.

The first touchdown of Lim's career came in athe second quarter of the week 11 game against the Kansas city Coyotes. Lim caught a pass thrown by Monteray Jack from the KCC 30 yard line near the KCC 10 yard line, and proceeded to carry thr ball for the remaining 10 yards despite being tackled by teo Coyotes defenders. That touchdown sparked a comeback that almost succeeded.

At the end of 2036 season, Lim recorded 595 yards and 1 TD, while showing a big improvement in speed and agility.

NSFL Draft

Heading to the 2037 NSFL draft, Lim was regarded as one of the top wide receiver prospects. This was a big improvement from the projections he received before the draft, which had hin as a tier 2 prospect. Lim's huge improvements in every aspects, especially speed, along with the fact that he transitioned well into pro offense despite concernes, were the main reasons behind this increase of his draft stock. Several teams, including Austin Copperheads and Colorado Yeti, had shown interest in Lim before the draft. At the draft, the Yeti selected Lim in the 3rd round with the 32nd overall pick, right after the Copperheads selected Eddie Jeeta with the pick before. The Yeti management expressed their trust in Lim by stating that 'he was the best receiver ib their draft board' with their draft statement. The Yeti decided to immediately call Lim up and have him compete for WR3 spot after the draft.

2037 Season

After being called up, the Yeti had Lim compete with Jake Dropson, who was acquired via a trade from the Liberty, for the WR3 spot in the depth chart after James Bishop and Red Arrow. And while the Yeti decided to keep both wide receivers in the team, but Lim saw the lion's share of the snaps as the team's WR3. Lim recorded 310 yards and 14.8 yards per receptions despite not given a lot of targets, and recorded his first career NSFL touchdown with a 43 yard touchdown reception in a 13-7 loss to Sarasota Sailfish in week 11 road game. That touchdown was the only points the Yeti had scored in the game. In the postseason, Lim recorded 51 yards with 3 catches in the 3 games Yeti had played from the wild card to their ultimus win. Lim had a 12 yard catch- which resulted in a first down- in the ultimus, contributing to the team's 24-25 victory over the Otters.

2038 Season

2038 season was a big turning point in Lim's career. Before the season, he was named the team's number one receiver after both James Bishop and Red Arrow -two wide receivers previously ahead of him in the depth chart- had announced their retirements. Apart of this luck in positional competition, Lim also showed big inprovement in many categories such as catching abilities and speed. The Yeti drafted Jackson Kingston in the 2038 ISFL draft, and Kingston became Lim's partner in opposite side. Throughout the season, Lim was very productive, especially towards to the latter half of the season where the Yeti had accommodated more pass heavy offensive scheme, instead of the run heavy offense which had been their norm for the last season and a half. Lim recorded a TD in three consecutive games to end the season, exceeded 100 receiving yards in 3 of the 5 games since week 11. His best performance of the season came in form of week 15 away game against the Yellowknife Wraiths, where he found the endzone twice and recorded 75 receiving yards, cementing a crucial victory which lead to the team securing the number two seen in the NSFC. In the wildcard round, Lim was a dominant force against the Liberty as he recorded 117 receiving yard and a touchdown in just 4 receptions. However, he didn't keep up the performance to the conference championship game, where he only recorded 2 yards in a single reception in the midst of Yeti's 10-13 loss to the Yellowknife Wraiths. After the season, Lim was nominated to various awards such as Breakout player of the year and the pro bowl as his 2038 campaign was deemed to be stellar. Lim made the ISFL pro bowl first time in his career as he received 15 of 16 votes. At the awards ceremony after the season, Lim was awarded the offensive breakout player of the year award, and was nominated to the wide receiver of the year award while he didn't win it.

2039 Season

After his breakout campaign, Lim entered the 2039 ISFL season receiving high hopes for both his individual stats and the team's performance. Many analytics suggested Lim as one of must- draft fantasy wide receivers before the season.

Lim started the season off with a bang as he recorded 101 yards in 7 receptions and 2 touchdowns in a 41-6 blowout win against the Chicago Butchers at home. Lim continued to rack up yards, touchdowns and fantasy points through the season. He kicked the season off with 4 dtraight games with 80 or more receiving yards in week 1 to 4. And while he became relatively quiet midway through the season, Lim popped off again when the Yeti made their famous annual playoff push and finished the season very strong with 3 straight games of having 2 receiving touchdowns. While his regular season yard numbers dropped from 1217 of last season to 1080 due to him needing to share with one more wide receiver- newly called up Leeroy Jenkins- Lim proved that he was indeed the favorite target of the team's veteran quarterback Wolfie McDummy by snagging league leading 13 touchdowns (the next in the list had 9 receiving TDs). Through the playoffs, Lim made several catches, but failed to make any touchdowns as the team ended the season in a bitter Ultimus loss to the San Jose Sabercats against the odds.

After the season, Lim was selected to his second consecutive pro bowl, receiving 12 of 14 votes this time, and received the honor of being named the wide receiver of the year. This honors were mainly due to his touchdowns.
