Steco Alonzo Ocewilder (born January 2, 2011) was a British-American professional American Football player for the New York Silverbacks. He played tight end in college football for Auburn University and in the DSFL for the San Antonio Marshals. Also previously played for the Colorado Yeti and the Orange County Otters.

Early years

Ocewilder was born in Leeds, United Kingdom and was raised by his mother, Jillian Ocewilder, a former olympic sprinter. His father's family is of Norweigian descent, and his mother's family is of Native American ancestry. Ocewilder moved to America when he was 10 years old with his mother and eventually attended Biloxi High School in Biloxi, Mississippi and lettered in basketball, football, and still schoool records in the 100 yard dash. At age 12, Ocewilder decided to pursue his dream of making it to the NFL. He would wake up at 4 a.m. every morning to train. As the point guard for the basketball team, he averaged 24 points a game. He was a multi-position athlete for the Biloxi Indians football team, playing the running back, wide reciever, linebacker, safety, and occasionally kick returner.

While having a very close bond with his maternal family, Ocewilder's father did not make the move to America with the 10 year old Steco. Barnabus Ocewilder, while not as atheltically gifted as Steco's mother, was still a stand out football (soccer) player and wrestler in Barnabus' early years. Steco has been quoted as saying, "I do miss my dad, but I haven't seen him in a very long time. I don't know how much interest he has in being a father to me. There isn't much interest in being his son on my part. It's not so much inspiration, but I expect him to come ringing when I finally achieve my dreams of making it into the NSFL. And Barnabus can expect me to pick up to say hello and not much else. I thank my mum for everything I have done and am. And my high school football coach has become the father I needed, helping me become the best football player I can be."

During a football game in Ocewilder's junior year of high school, Ocewilder spear-tackled (while playing on the defensive side) the opposing team's ball carrier leaving the player motionless on the field for several minutes. Ocewilder cites this as the moment he would rather focus on the offensive side of the game. Ocewilder continued to play safety for the Biloxi Indians, but mostly in pass coverage. In his senior year, he won the state championship game against Petal High School rushing for 198 yards and catching another 130 yards in the air while scoring 6 touchdowns collectively while also posting a Pick-Six.

Ocewilder is a huge video game fan, having several video game inspired tattoos.

College career

As the number 3 rated tight end and the number 40 overall prospect by Rivals.com, Ocewilder received interest from many top college football programs, including the Oklahoma Sooners, Texas Longhorns, Miami Hurricanes, LSU Tigers, USC Trojans, Alabama Crimson Tide, Mississippi State Bulldogs, and the Auburn Tigers. Choosing to attend the Auburn University in Auburn, Alabama, where many family members were alumni. Ocewilder majored in software engineering. He remained on the scout team until injuries promoted him to starter at the end of his freshman season. In his first regular season action, Ocewilder immediately made his presence known. His first game was in the Iron Bowl that year against the Tiger's rival the Alabama Crimson tide. On the opening play Ocewilder caught a 5 yard slant and ran 65 yards for the game's first score.

While still focused on his dream of the NFL, Ocewilder continued to excel as a multi-sport athlete. He was suspended for the first 2 games of his senior season for his involvement in a fight that reportedly Ocewilder provoked. He apologized for his actions and stated he would make it up to his fans. He has since to make any headlines for any off the field troubles. After missing 0 games his first 3 years, Ocewilder went on to have his best collegiate year stats-wise in his shortened season.

In his career, he totaled 154 receptions for 1,992 yards and 27 touchdowns. His yards per reception average was the best on the team each year and his career receiving yards were a school record for a tight end. His career touchdown receptions is 2nd all time for all Auburn receivers. Ocewilder has been called "the most dynamic player at Auburn since Bo Jackson and Cam Newton." As a promise to his mother, Steco earned in his Bachelor of Software Engineering before declaring for the DSFL draft.
