Spruce Willis would go onto having a very solid season, finishing the season with tied for fourth in the league for all safeties in interceptions and tied for seventh in the league for interceptions with a total of four, one of those interceptions was a pick six. Spruce Willis would also finish in the top three of safeties in pass deflections with nineteen pass deflections, this would be good enough for being 24th for all players in pass deflections. Spruce Willis did everything that you would want from your Centerfielder Safety, was opportunistic yielding a few interceptions while also breaking up plenty of completions while also not being a liability. The real story was the season for the Sarasota Sailfish, which was a turbulent one. Starting off the season the Sarasota Sailfish had a record of six wins and two losses. Sarasota would then go onto having a two game loss streak dropping games to the Yellow Knife Wraiths and the Colorado Yeti. Sarasota would then go onto beating the Honolulu Hahalua, Cape town crash and the Chicago butchers. Sarasota with their own destiny in their head would drop the final two games of the season to the New Orleans Secondline and the Berlin Fire Salamanders. Spruce Willis had a big change of pace during season 46 of the international simulation football league. His coach saw something in him, whether that be a physical change or something else but Spruce made the change from Safety to Cornerback. Usually the change goes the other way around, as a cornerback gets a little older and loses a step they become more of a ball hawk if the skillset is still there. This seemed to be a completely different situation for Spruce Willis, things like reading the field playing supportive over the top and reading the eyes of the quarterback became a lot less easy to do and as a result Spruce Willis saw a big dip in his turnovers. Going from four interceptions down to one. However with this massive adjustment to his game Spruce found himself on an island from time to time and caused him to prioritize getting his man to the ground instead of going for the aggressive intercepting play. All in all his first season at corner was solid. He filled the role properly and proved to not be a liability. Sarasota ended the season with a 9-7 record which was good enough to have the second seed in the NSFC and would lose to the Yellowknife Wraiths in overtime of the first round in what would have been called some of the worst final 2 minute coaching decisions that have ever graced the sport of football.

Spruce Willis (born March 15, 1955) is an American football safety for the Myrtle Beach Buccaneers of the Developmental Simulation Football League (DSFL).

Early years

In his early years Spruce Willis did not really play the game of football, he more so tried to make it in the world as a private detective. Taking and investigating cases with my partner Madolyn "Maddie" Hayes at the Blue Moon Detective agency. There was plenty of sexual tension between the two of us, but that is what happens when you live a life filled with mystery and close proximity to a former model. Who is down on their luck saddled with multiple failing businesses maintained as tax write offs, I had to pursuade Maddie to keep the detective agency and run it as a partnership. You would often find Maddie and myself at high end parties and other parts of the city that would require in black and white Tie atire. Alongside Maddie, our quirky and loyal recpetionist Agnes DiPesto really helped run the show, paired alongside our employee Herbert Viola, which we got from a temp agency. After this fizzled out Spruce Willis set his sights on being part of the police force.

College career

Spruce Willis does not really go to college other than the police academy. Life on the force had been tough. Life as a cop forces you to commit to it and drop all other things if you're looking to make it beyond to the next day. It forces you to keep your head on a swivel. I was looking to join up with my estranged wife and two daughters on Christmas eve in Nakatomi Plaza for a Christmas eve party that my wife's Japanese employer was throwing. But instead of having a relaxing night with the wife and kids, filling the minutes with booze filled drinks and cheery small talk with people I have never met nor care to fraternize with. The festivities were interrupted by a group of pissed off Europeans led by a guy named Hans Gruber who took over the exclusive high-rise, and everyone in it. With police on the outside looking in not able to make a move I realize that it is me, Spruce Willis that must save all of the hostages and also needed a change of life.

DSFL career

-S42-Spruce Willis was drafted to the Bondi Beach Buccaneers. He was drafted in the third round with the twenty-first overall pick in the season 42 DSFL draft. Spruce Willis was the third of four safeties taken off of the board. Spruce Willis had a decent start to his career. Across fourteen games Spruce Willis logged 54 tackles, zero tackles for loss, four misses, 0 forced fumbled, 0 fumble recoveries, one sack, one interception which was also a pick six, five pass deflections, and one blocked punt. The most tackles Spruce had in a game was nine during week 13 against the Tijuana Luchadores but what is arguably Spruce's best game occurred in week 3 against the Portland Pythons, where Spruce logged the first pick six of his career, one pass deflection and five tackles in a 17-13 win. Despite this bright spot for Spruce Willis. The season was filled with it's fair share of trouble. The Bondi Beach Buccaneers would go on to finish the season with a league tying worst 4-10-0 record missing the playoffs with a rough stretch of 1-9 in the first ten games. However as the season progressed the buccaneer locker room became more and more competitive.

ISFL career

-S43-

Spruce Willis would go onto having an electric start to his young International Simulation Football career. As a Sarasota Sailfish, in his first game against the Colorado Yeti, Spruce Willis would go onto record a 1 tackle, 1 Sack, 1 Pass deflection and 1 Interception and would also go onto having 0 penalties against him in a tight 28-24 win over the Yeti. Spruce Willis would then go onto recording a 1 tackle, 1 Pass deflection and 1 Interception performance against the San Jose Sabercats in another 1 score win. Spruce was confident he was good, but recording an interception in each of his first two games was not something he expected and they were big turnovers, giving Sarasota the extra bit of juice they needed to come out with a win. Spruce would take a break from his turnover ways giving Yellow knife a pass in his vulturing ways, but Spruce would resume netting another interception in the fourth game of the season against the Baltimore Hawks in a tough loss. Wit Spruce's intercepting ways he started to see the other team stop throwing his direction nearly as much and instead targeted the outside of the field a lot more. Yielding no more interceptions for Spruce until week 13 where Spruce would pick off the Chicago Quarterback in a tough 24-21 loss. Spruce would also get another Interception in week 14 where the Yellow Knife Wraiths would try their luck only to be vultured once again. Overall Spruce Willis had a very good start to his International Simulation Football career. In his true rookie season Spruce was tied for 5th in the league with 5 Interceptions and tied for 11th for all safeties in Sacks with 4. Sarasota had a decent season finishing 8-8 in a three way tie for 3rd place in the NSFC losing the tie breaker, Sarasota would miss the playoffs. Despite missing the playoffs having a youthful defense that has a lot of room to grow, life in Sarasota is looking on the up and up.

-S44-

After a phenomenal start to Spruce Willis career, the turnover machine would calm down and the Sarasota Sailfish would start season 44 with a rough three game loss streak. Stumpy Jones would perform decently, however it was not enough to overcome what was perceived as one of the easier parts of the schedule losing to the Orange County Otters, Yellow Knife Wraiths and the Berlin Fire Salamanders all by a single possession. The Sarasota Sailfish would then go on to upset the Baltimore Hawks, winning 26-23. Spruce Willis would record six tackles and one pass deflected. Sarasota would then next week go on to beat the Chicago Butchers 22-20 with the difference being a 4th quarter safety. Spruce Willis would have five tackles and 1 pass deflected. The Sailfish would then face-off against the Philadelphia Liberty :) Where the sarasota would have their only multiple possession loss of the regular season. Losing 29-20, Spruce willis would have four tackles and two pass deflections. Sarasota would then go on to face the more difficult part of the schedule getting wins over playoff contenders Arizona, Baltimore, New York and the Liberty while losing to the Berlin Fire Salamanders, Austin coper heads and the Colorado Yeti. The margin of victory for all of these games is less than a singular possession.

Sarasota would go on to beat the Colorado Yeti in their final game of the season by a score of 29-27 and once again make the playoffs. Sarasota would once again face-off against the Baltimore Hawks where Baltimore would get the win by a score of 19-14.

-S45-

Sarasota would qualify for the playoffs due to tie-breakers. Sarasota would go onto make a run in the playoffs beating the baltimore hawks then the Colorado Yeti. In the Ultimus the Sailfish would lose in overtime to the Austin Copperhead. Their coach has been put on the choping block as a result of the final minute shenanigans' that continue to plague this team and has been a problem for far too long.
