Rick Richard Skuff (born November 19, 1999) is an American football runningback for the Minnesota Grey Ducks of the Developmental Simulation Football League (DSFL). He played college football for Davidson College and has declared his intent to enter the professional ranks next season.

Early years

Rick Skuff was born in Oakey's Holler, West Virginia, to Annabelle and Jonathan Skuff, on the family farm. He is the third of five brothers (Jonathan Jr., Jonathan III, Rick, Dick, Cooper), and also has three younger sisters (Annabelle Jr. Crystal, Mercedes). Jethro White Consoidated, Skuff's high school, did not have the enrollment necessary to field a football team so he focused on his studies in applied chemistry and working on the family barley farm. Years of hauling crops left Rick with exceptional strength and practice running from minor misunderstandings with the police helped him hone his speed. Side projects on the farm left Skuff with a keen interest in chemistry, which he used to separate himself from the other dozen students in his high school and earn a coveted scholarship from the Appalacian Chemistry Society.

College career

Attending Davidson College on a chemistry scholarship, Skuff was recruited to the football team after the coach witnessed him hauling two kegs, one over each shoulder, across campus. It took some time for Skuff to learn the game of football, but by mid season he was receiving more than just goal line work and put together an impressive breakout game with 100 yard, 2 TD game in the FCS quarterfinals. He finished the year with 540 yards on 110 carries, with 7 TDs. Skuff entered his sophomore season as the starter and put up an impressive 1156 yards with 17 total TDs. The coaching staff was excited to continue to work with Skuff and improve upon his fundamentals, especially in the receiving game, however it was not meant to be, as laboratory usage issues led to him being kicked out of the university. Skuff took one year off of football and returned to the farm, but later decided to enter his name into the DSFL waiver wire.
