Nate Winter/Zamir Kehla Jr (born September 5, 2028) is an American football safety for the Austin Copperheads of the International Simulation Football League (ISFL).

Early years

" Nate Winter was born September 5,2028 to loving father Allen Winter and loving mother Elizabeth Winter. As a baby it was rumored he never cried. As a young child Winter was always interested in sports, specifically soccer and football. It was apparent that he was extremely intelligent and athletic. Entering middle school he was always the topic of the conversation. He was always involved in the community, organizing fundraisers and volunteering for local elderly homes. In high school Winter excelled in Football, and decided to pursue it full time. Winter played both WR and Safety in High School, starting as both on varsity his sophmore year. Academically he was always on top of his work, and took advanced classes. Come senior year. he was a 3-Star recruit and committed to Virginia Tech, with a major in Mechanical Engineering. Friends recount how excited he was to tell his father, a VT graduate himself."

College career

At Virginia Tech, Winter was a strong addition to the backbone of the VT defense. Although stats wise he wasn't the best, it was clear when you watched him the impact he made. After his freshman year he became a captain, and was on track to become a star. However at the start of his sophmore year he had a tragic injury, a torn ACL. Winter decided not to rush it, and to use this time to focus on his academic career. He managed to get his 3.6 GPA up to a 4.2, and rehabbed sucessfully. His junior year saw an impressive stat line, with 6 interceptions, 97 tackles, 6 forced fumbles, and 3 sacks. He was a well respected member of the team and enviroment. He decided not to declare for the draft early, and went to get his degree. His senior year saw an average performance with nothing notable, decreasing his stock. However Winter was perfectly fine and happy. He was happy due to getting his degree, and had "no regrets".

Professional career

DSFL career

Nate Winter had an impressive season for a round 3 pick. He quickly climbed up the tackling leaderboard and at the end of the season led Safety's in tackles. Winter was cited as being a great person in the LR, by a total of one person. His closing words were 'Keep me anonymous, can't have people knowing I gave myself a good review'. At the beginning of the season Winter stayed as a true safety, but struggled to get anything beyond tackles. Around Week 9 it was decided to put him in as a hybrid Safety/Linebacker role. He immediately saw an increase in his stats, getting 2 interceptions and 2 sacks. Winter then went on to play to the end for Minnesota, who sadly missed the playoffs. When asked if there was anything more he could've done Winter said 'Quack more. I don't know ask Painted, I'm not good at this football stuff.' Winter is anticipating a leap in his draft stock with both stats and TPE backing him. When asked for closing remarks he simply said 'Winter is coming'. It is almost summer. Winter put up impressive numbers once again for his second and final season. Leading in tackles among DBs and second in the league for tackles, Winter managed to add 115 tackles to his resume, with 1 TFL and 3 sacks. Once again Winter was quoted to be a good member of the locker room, this time by multiple people! He earned himself the nickname Chilly, dubbed by his teammate Mike Scott. Winter played this year as a true SS, and delivered like one. He managed to pop the ball out 3 times, with 1 FR himself. Unfortunately Minnesota missed out on the playoffs again. Winter was very disappointed with his overall performance and was quoted saying "Wish I could've done more. I didn't contribute to the pass defense the way I wanted to". Winter only managed to get 1 PD with no turnovers, a drastic drop off from last year. When asked about next season Winter said "I'm not sure what to expect. Obviously it is a whole new level and I need to prepare for it. I've got a long way to go until I'm satisfied, and even then I won't stop". Winter is looking at his rookie season for the Austin Copperheads in the ISFL, and is preparing heavily for it. When asked for a final statement he simply said "Winter is coming, ISFL watch out!". It is summer.

2052 ISFL Season (S37)

Nate Winter was called up to the Austin Copperheads of the ISFL for his 3rd season. He was an immediate starter at strong safety. Winter worked alongside Tobias Worthington III and Roma Amir-Kani in the backfield. With the increased level of competition Winter saw his stats and performance drop. In 16 games he put up 62 tackles, a bit more than half of what he managed last year. However, Winter only missed 3 tackles, giving him a very high tackle success rate. Winter led Strong Safety's in minutes played, so although his stats may not represent his skill well it does show he is a very important part of the Copperheads young defense. Winter had a great time in his LR, and said "I love everyone in my Locker room no doubt. They are like brothers to me and we got each others back." Perhaps due to this strong bond, Winter did manage to get 5 sacks, something he was very proud of. HE also saw an increase in PDs, managing to get 3 this year. Although the Austin Copperheads put up a league low record of 2-14, Winter is very optimistic about the teams future. "Our team is young, we are not expecting to be amazing off the bat. Obviously we are disappointed with our performance but I have a feeling we may be good in years to come" Winter said. With the Copperheads having the 1OA draft pick things may begin to pick up soon as well. When asked for his closing remarks he said "Winter is coming, be prepared". It is fall.

2053 ISFL Season (S38)

Entering his sophomore season, many people sensed a change. What that change is however, wasn't realized until late in the season. Nate Winter put up similar stats to last year, however with more team success. Still joined by Tobias Worthington III and Roma Amir-Kani in the backfield, Winter continued to start at SS for all 16 games, or Winter played 12 games at least. That's when Winter had a metamorphosis, and became Zamir Kehla Jr. Many people were dumbfounded, even Kehla Jr. was. It seems he is both Kehla Jr. and Winter, and the inner beast that is Kehla Jr. (ZKJ from now on) took control, hoping to give a playoff berth to Austin. Unfortunately, the push fell through, as Austin finished just outside of the playoffs, at 8-8. ZKJ managed to finish the season with a small 53 tackles. He was rather disappointed, as he also saw a decrease in sacks, with only 3. However, ZKJ put up an impressive stat of 4 FF and 1 FR! ZKJ stayed consistent in PDs, once again maintaining 3 PDs. When asked for his closing remarks he stated "Wint- wait something isn't right. How about 'Return of the Sith: Zamir Kehla Jr.', does that sound good?". The reporters shook their heads yes and ZKJ exited stage left, audience right.

2054 ISFL Season (S39)

Zamir Kehla Jr. completed his metamorphosis, and a new air was about him. This became apparent in the ISFL preseason, where it was reported ZKJ was lining up at CB2, along with Draft Steal at CB1. When asked about this ZKJ stated "Yeah, the team knew I wasn't doing my best for myself and my team. We are hoping that a position change will help boost everybody's overall performance. Well, one could say boost was an understatement. ZKJ and the Austin Copperheads ended up going 11-5, second in the newly named "RIGHT" conference. ZKJ managed to get not only his first ever ISFL pick, but 2 of them at that. He had a career high 70 tackles at the ISFL level, and a career high 18 pass deflections. ZKJ also managed to get a forced fumble and a fumble recovery. However the highlight of his season, and perhaps career, was earning the role of captain for the first time in his career, in both DSFL and ISFL. Although Austin made a first round exit out of the playoffs, ZKJ was still extremely proud of his team. For his closing remarks he stated "I love my team man. Nothing beats the bond we have there, on all aspect. Expect us to come back even harder next year." He closed by saying "Zamir Kehla Jr.: A New Hope" and then backpedaled off the stage, like he was going back in a movie series to come up with names.

2054 ISFL Season (S39)

Zamir Kelha Jr finished his 4th season with the Austin Copperheads with an impressive stat line. Once again, Austin fell short in the playoffs, despite the efforts of the team. However, ZKJ was very happy to have made the playoffs, and he feels he is entering his prime soon. This season ZKJ had a career high 79 tackles, beating his previous record of 70 by 9. As for TFL's ZKJ once again struggled to get those, and was frustrated with getting none. He felt the same frustration with his sack production, which has only gotten worse over the years. His coaches however, have said that it isn't a concern for them since ZKJ isn't expected to get these stats. However, something ZKJ excelled at this year was turnovers. He had a forced fumble, which is average. But the main thing that carried his season were interceptions. He had 3 takeaways, and scored on all 3 of these. This means he had 3 TD's, which combined to 18 points. Not too bad for a CB. ZKJ's finishing words were "Attack on Zamir: The Interception Titan."
