Ignatious Cleetington (born January 10, 2033) is an American football Line Backer who currently plays Linebacker for the Sarasota Sailfish in the ISFL. He played college football for South Harmon Institute of Technology, and was previously a Tight End for the Tijuana Luchadores

Early years

Ignatious Cleetington was born to Mary Louise Beauregard a janitor at Walker Air Force Base in Roswell, New Mexico. Little is known of his fathers past other than his seemingly sudden arrival to Roswell in 1947. As a young tike Ignatious had a keen interest in leather crafting and the athletic talent of a wet mop. During a 5th grade field trip to a football manufacturing facility, he was involved in a freak accident and fell into the leather tanning tank. After awakening from a 69 day coma Ignatious found he had an incredible aptitude and skillset for the great sport of football, also he had grown 5ft and 200 pounds of pure muscle during the coma. He made the varsity team of Roswell High School by the 6th grade. After a standout high school football career Ignatious set his sites on South Harmon Institute of Technology to pursue college athletics. Little is known of his fathers current whereabouts, while some claim his existence to be a government coverup.

College career

Ignatious' transfer to South Harmon Institute of Technology was an absolute wake up call for him. While enduring the institutes accreditation scandal, Cleetington initially struggled at the collegiate level. As a freshmen Ignatious competed for a roster spot squeaking by to make the final roster. Additionally a tragic ACL tear in both knees nearly sidelined him for the season, but he recovered the next day. His final stat line of his freshmen year included more injuries than TD's, 24 broken ribs, 2 C/G (concussions per game - an NCAA record), and a stubbed pinky toe. His appendix also burst three times *non-football injury. The fact that Cleetington never missed any playing time is an absolute testament to his toughness. From sophomore year on though he was able to stave off the injury bug and began putting up the points as expected. Cleetington currently holds South Harmon's records for career TD's, receptions, pancakes (eaten) and yards per catch - 15 Y/C.

Cleetington participated in the S42 Prospect Bowl as a member of the Lesotho Llamas. Though he wasn't completely satisfied with the numbers he put up throughout the bowl he was grateful for the opportunity to have played. He certainly felt like the final play of game 9, the team should have gone with the run. Its second and goal on the 1yd line and the Llamas are down by 3. Why would you kick a field goal and not atleast attempt a run...but sims gonna sim as they say. With the Prospect Bowl behind him, Cleetington's focus was solely on the draft and working to build his stock. He was drafted by the Tijuana Luchadores with the 8th pick overall. Elated with getting picked in the draft, it was time for him to put in the work and prove to his new team that he was worth his place in the draft.

DSFL S42

DSFL season 42 started off hot for Cleetington and the Luchadores. Cleetington sees his first touchdown in week 2 against the Seawolves, and Tijuana comes out swinging with a four-game winning streak. Cleetington was awarded the team game ball in the week four matchup at home against Portland, going 4-for-4 and 97Yds, with 3 pancakes. Heading into a week five bout versus Minnesotta however, they would receive their fist loss on the season. The Luchadores would bounce back and get two more wins in weeks six and seven, but would close out the season winning only three of the last seven. Though the tail end of the season did not have as many ticks in the win column, the Luchadores still manage a spot in the playoffs. The Conference Championship sees Tijuana at Norfolk for the DSFL South title. Unfortunately for Cleetington the Luchadores could not get the job done and lose 19-38 in a game that saw a one-sided second half go in in favor of the Seawolves. Ignatious Cleetington would finish the regular season with 55/74 receptions on 658 and 4 touchdowns. With eyes on the offseason, the Cleet was nor preparing to enter the ISFL draft for season 43.

ISFL S43

Ignatious Cleetington was selected 9th overall in the Season 43 ISFL draft by the Sarasota Sailfish. Upon making the transition into the ISFL the Cleet also made a position swap from Tight End to Linebacker. Now with eyes set to the future and with goals of protecting Fishnet Stadium Iggy was ready to start waving the defensive banner of the House of the Fish. With the season getting underway Iggy found himself off to slow start defensively, amassing only eight tackles in the first four games of the season. However, his resolve was not be broken. He kept his head down and continued to work toward his goals and helping the team. Cleetington was able to break out in weeks six and eight with strong defensive showings and was awarded the teams defensive game ball award. Ultimately though the Sailfish would surprisingly end the season 8-8 and miss a chance to compete in the playoffs. With the season now in rear view mirror The Cleet took some time to head home and work on his latest leather creation, The Angry Angler, a life size leather made replica of himself. In the offseason he continued his training regiment and prepared for the what’s next for the Fish and himself.

ISFL S44

The Cleet and the Sailfish were able to put together a 9-7 season and make a push for the playoffs in Season 44. However Ignatious still struggled to get into the upper echelon of Linebacking in his Sophmore season. His second campaign would actually result in a lower total number of tackles on the season then his previous showing of 76, bringing in an unimpressive 69 total tackles...nice. After a season long push The Cleet did however manage to secure his first professional career sack, although he only finished with a lowly three for the season total. As Cleetington and the Fish were able to make it to the playoffs, they would find their season ended in the Quaterfinals NSFC matchup against the Hakws. It was tightly constested matchup with a final score of 14-19 in favor of the Hawks, where Cleetington did also secure the first interception of his career and a total of ten tackles, with no sacks. The young Cleet is showing promise but has yet to be able to push the envelope and get himself to the level of play he knows he is more than capable of. With season 44 in the rearview, The Cleet began to put in work for the season to come.

ISFL S45

In the time that passed between Season 44 and 45, the Cleet took a moment to reflect upon his career thus far. He remembered fondly the time the ISFL sent him as a diplomat to the Klingon home world Qu'nos to teach them the great sport of football. Cleetington made some time to get back to the first passion of his youth, leather-crafting, and fabricated a Sailfish embroidered helmet to pay homage to the old days football. He even stopped to ponder his time as a Tight End, allowing himself to become sympathetic over playing the offensive side of the ball. Then he remembered he was a Linebacker now, a killer of offensive weapons, and it was time to get back to work. The Sailfish had high hopes of returning to the playoffs this year, and the Cleet wanted to be a righteous tool of the Fish' defensive unit. Though the Sailfish would finish the season 9-7, they were able to squeak into the playoffs Quarterfinals round. The 34-21 Victory against the Hawks saw the Fish advance to the Semifinals against the Yeti. Cleetington played a monster game in the semi; amassing 10 tackle, 1 tackle for loss, 2 sacks and forced fumble with recovery. Once again the fish would take the W in 30-17 victory. Their win over Colorado would see the Sailfish advance to the Ultimus against the Copperheads. Though destiny would have defeat in line for Sarasota as they fell to Austin 34-31. With the loss and end of the season, the Cleet had thoughts of packing it up and ending his career. It would be none other than the Sailfish world class GM, abh, that would convince Ignatious to clear his head and stay in the fight. Invigorated The Cleet was on to Season 46 for another shot at the Ultimus, the greatest achievement in all of simulated sports.

ISFL S46

Mind and body refreshed and invigorated, Iggy entered season 47 with a renewed determination and fire in his belly. Now coming into his fourth season in the league he was ready to make a real impact.optimistic at what opportunities were in store for him this season, Cleetingon had plans to push for a potential spot in the pro bowl, perhaps even see his name called in various fantasy leagues. But all that aside, the real prize was simple. The goal was to fight through the season and win a spot in the playoffs to reach the Ultimus. Certainly, scoring his first pick six against the Yeti in Week 6 would help support this. But still it seemed for Cleet, he was unable to get over that hump. The Sailfish would lose to the Wraiths in the Wild Card round. There would be no further run for the Ultimus for Cleetington. He would not see his name called in a single fantasy league, more so he remained unranked even. And he did not appear in the Pro Bowl. Cleetingon returned home for the offseason an utter failure.
