Talen Farrens (born May 6, 1999) was an American football safety for the Colorado Yeti and Honolulu Hahalua of the ISFL. He also played for the Tijuana Luchadores of the Developmental Simulation Football League (DSFL).

Early years

Talen Farrens was born and raised in San Antonio, Texas to a Sean and Susan Farrens. They soon divorced after his birth and his mother went back to her maiden name "Rock" which became his middle name. Through the hardhisp of seperated and turbulant home life he became tough as a Rock, starting MMA and football at a young age. Once he reached a black belt in his local Taekwondo school he decided to fully commit to football. By the time he was in 8th grade he was a better athlete than most high school seniors, flying around on both sides of the field, throwing dimes on O and laying the lumber on D. Nobody wanted to go shotgun alley against him as he understood where to hit people to take them down and how to stay upright on his feet. His confidence, team spirit, and pure physicality are what seperated him from most recruits in the high school ranks.

College career

He committed unsurprisingly to the university that he loved since he was a boy, Texas A&M. As the school is almost always flush with talent, he was redshirted his freshman year. With an impressive offseason heading into his sophomore year he was able to lock down the back up QB and Free Safety positions, as well as having a very prominent role on special teams. Coaches wanted him on the field as he would always make plays, but couldn't justify pulling the more refined players from the starting roles. Nevertheless, Farrens continued to ball out. Taking option plays to the house, nabbing interceptions and getting sacks, and flying as a gunner starching any hopes of a good return. By the time his sophomore season was over he tallied half of his teams interceptions that year with 7, was the sack leader with 8.5, and had a combined 14 touchdowns on offense, defense, and special teams. His junior year, he was given the nod as the starter for QB and was thus restricted to just being on the offense. His QB career would plateau however, as he had clear limitations as a QB, almost seeming the want to pull the ball down and run someone over more than dissect a defense and deliver a solid pass. He had 16 passing touchdowns, 19 rushing touchdowns, and over 4000 yards combined passing and rushing. Despite this stat-line, teams were certainly more insterested in his instinctive aggressiveness, and willing to give him and opportunity to unleash the beast the was held within.
