He would often get hurt very badly, but after a few seconds his cells and tissue would quickly regenerate to their proper state enabling him to carry on. Following the championship, Yakman was selected in the 3rd round (31st overall) by the San Jose Sabercats. Early years
Huge Yakman was born in Auckland, New Zealand to a family of 8. He was the youngest boy and loved to roughhouse with his brothers, and sister who was the toughest of them all. Early on, Yakman discovered that he could actually regenerate health which enabled him to start playing rugby in town with boys much older than he was. He would often get hurt very badly, but after a few seconds his cells and tissue would quickly regenerate to their proper state enabling him to carry on. It also allowed him to subvert the fatigue factor such sports normally bring as he could regenerate that as well allowing him to sprint at top speed much longer than the average player. Eventually, he learned to run faster and hit harder, fully aware that he could never be seriously injured. On a trip to the Xavier School for the Gifted in the United States, he was introduced to football for the first time and became the hard hitting, fearless linebacker we all know and love.
College career
When Yakman finally convinced Charles Xavier to allow him to start a school football team, it was not surprising that they dominated every team they came into contact with, I mean they were mutants after all. But Yakman was the best of them, he routinely played both ways, running back on offense and signal-caller lineback on the team's defense. He amassed a school record 684 tackles in his first season and helped lead the team to a 12-0 record, all the while not giving up a single point on defense. Eventually, Yakman decided it was time to try and take his talents to the professional ranks, and due to an ill-fated typo on his paper work, ended up at the actual Xavier University. They didn't have a football team, but he was still so good they basically made one for him. Around this time, the government decided to start cracking down on mutants in professional sports so unfortunately for him (fortunately for the DSFL/ISFL) his only option was to use his skills on the virtual gridiron, and he was drafted into the ranks of the Sim Leagues.
