Robot Sunfish (born September 6, 2038) is an American football linebacker who is currently preparing to enter the professional ranks. He played college football for none (n/a) and has declared his intent to enter the professional ranks next season.

Early years

Robot Sunfish was originally created by a upstart robotics company in Seoul, South Korea, as an autonomous fish- shaped robot to clean sediments and other contaminants from some of the country's drinking water reserve, as a part of a government-sponsored program. However, after the project was cancelled due to the government having trouble with the robot's strong resemblence to a sunfish (which is regarded as fiendishly death-prone in South Korea), the company had no choice but to sell the robot to the highest bidder to minimize sunk cost. The bidder happened to be a wealthy Canadian robotics engineer who also happened to be a hockey fanatic. The sunfish robot's new owner decided to modify it as a robotic hockey player.

Hockey career and transition to football

"The new owner of the former dam- cleaning robot, a Mr. Kyle Amidships, christened his new robot ""Robot Sunfish"" after its appearance, and made major modifications to it. During this modification, Sunfish's electric system has been overhauled and drastically powered up to ensure sufficient battery life and motor strength to last and perform during a hockey game. The robot was then given ""feet"" in the form of skate blades connected to the motors, and ""hands"" which was a hockey stick bolted to its body. Sunfish's software was also completely changed to chase after hockey pucks instead of sediments. With those modifications, Sunfish was advertised as an up- and- coming roght defender prospect on the season's SMJHL draft. His unique appearance and story attracted a lot of interested scouts, and the clout he gathered resulted in him being drafted to the nearby SMJHL team in Vancouver Whalers. As a Whaler, Sunfish made his name not only as a proficient right defender, but more so as the team's goon, who was almost guarenteed a win in fights due to his superior weight and his liberal use of ramming against his opponents. This fame (and notoriety) he gathered during his rookie season there resulted in him drafted to the Winnipeg Aurora in the first round in the next SHL draft. Sunfish, however, ended up as a draft bust because of his tendency to go after people instead of the puck.

Seeing this interesting anomaly, Amidships decided to take his robot's talent to another sport, namely football. The reasoning was that if Sunfish mostly goes after people, he will be highly effective as a football edge rusher, whose sole purpose basically was to chase after either opposing quarterback or a running back. Also, as football is far more larger and recognizable than an ice hockey puck, it would be far easier for Sunfish's somewhat inferior optical system, which was mostly designed with underwater use in mind and had to make compromises in performance due to harsh budget constraints. With those reasoning, it was decided to have Sunfish take a shot at a sister league of the SHL, the ISFL. In order to adjust to a life now as a robotic football player, Sunfish again went through a major modification. The skates were replaced with wheels to ensure smooth performance on a football field, and real prosthetic arms and hands were attached to both sides of the robot, in order to at least give it a chance to make a play at the ball. Also, its software was completely overhauled yet again to have the robot play football instead of ice hockey. After those changes, Amidships claimed that Sunfish will be ""an elite pass rushing linebacker in the ISFL, with his superior speed and hard hitting abilities"" the newly refurbished Robot Sunfish officially announced his intentions to declare for DSFL draft shortly before 2061 season trade deadline, and was registered as a prospect on trade deadline day. His physical and athletic measurements at registration are as follows. "
