Reece Wells II (born May 19, 2029) is an American football tight end who is currently playing for the Yellowknife Wraiths of the ISFL. He played college football for the University of Toronto (UT).

Early years

Reece Wells II was born in Toronto, Ontario to Reece Wells Sr and Bonita Wells. Both of Wells II's parents are from the United States, but Wells II was born in Canada due to his father coaching amateur football there during the time of Wells II's birth. After the birth of his son, Wells Sr stepped away from football to be with his family. He would resume coaching as Wells II's head coach for his youth football teams. Wells II entered high school already at 6'0. During his time at Westview Centennial, he started for 4 years on the varsity football team and grew to be 6'6. Wells II would go on to hold all major recieving records for Westview. Wells II was rated as a 5 star recruit coming out of high school due to his natural size, football IQ, and athleticism. He held offers from over 30 power five schools, but chose to attend the University of Toronto and remain in Canada. His decision shocked thousands, as the University of Toronto had been perennial losers for the entirety of the 21st century. In 2047, when Wells II turned 18, he was presented with the option to change his nationality to American so he could be like his parents. He declined, saying that Canada was his home.

College career

2047 Season

Wells II entered the University of Toronto as a true freshman in 2047. He would start right away for the team, and hold that starting job throughout his college career. In his first collegiate season, Wells II recorded 35 catches for 409 yards and 3 touchdowns. The team finished 5-3, and qualified for the playoffs. This was the University of Toronto's first winning season since 1995. Unfortunately, they'd lose in the first round.

2048 Season

As a sophmore, Wells put up even better numbers than in his freshman year. He recorded 47 catches for 658 yards and 7 touchdowns. With a 6-2 record, Toronto again qualified for the playoffs. The school won 2 consecutive games to reach its first conference championship since 1993. However, Wells II injured his hand in the semifinal game, and had to watch from the sidelines as Toronto lost.

2049 Season

2049 would be Wells II's final college season. He recorded an incredible 93 catches in 8 games, and put up 1,057 yards and 9 touchdowns to go along with it. His impressive statline netted him the Hec Crighton trophy, which is given out to Canada's most outstanding college football player. Wells II became the first tight end to ever win the award. The University of Toronto finished the season with a perfect 8-0 record and a bye in the Canadian college football playoffs. There, Wells II's dominance continued. He averaged over 120 recieving yards per game as Toronto battled to its first Vanier Cup championship appearance since 1993. Toronto met Calgary in the final game, and soundly defeated them 24-7. The win marked the end of the University of Toronto's 55 year championship drought.

2050 Season

Having accomplished all of his goals, and not wanting to risk injury, Wells II would forgo the 2050 college season in order to begin his pro career. During this period, Wells II would be inducted into the University of Toronto's athletic hall of fame.

Tijuana Luchadores

Shortly following his last college game, and with one game left in the 2049 DSFL season, Wells II was claimed off of waivers by the Tijuana Luchadores. Because the end of the season was so near, Wells II would not see much playing time.

2049 Season

Wells II caught 1 pass for 6 yards. The Luchadores would enter the playoffs with a DSFL-best record of 10-4, but be defeated in the conference championship by the Dallas Birddogs

Bondi Beach Buccaneers

Wells II was drafted by the Bondi Beach Buccaneers with the 11th overall pick in the 2050 (Season 35) DSFL draft. He was the Buccaneers 2nd selection of the draft and the first Tight End taken during the draft.

2050 Season

Wells II played in all 14 games for the Buccaneers in 2050, and he caught 43 passes for 305 yards and 1 touchdown. As a team, the Buccaneers finished the season 3-11, which was the worst record in all the DSFL. Because of the team's poor play, Wells' draft stock took a hit. This is part of the reason why he fell in the following draft.

2051 Season

Wells would play one more season in Bondi Beach before being called up to the ISFL with Yellowknife.

Yellowknife Wraiths

Wells II was picked 37th overall in the 2051 (Season 36) ISFL draft by the Yellowknife Wraiths. He would be sent back down to the DSFL to develop for one more season before being called up.
