Lot Smith VIII (born June 28, 2023) is an American football runningback for the Kansas City Coyotes of the Developmental Simulation Football League (DSFL).

Early years

Lot Smith VIII was born in Fort Lauderdale, Florida on June Twenty-eight, Twenty-Twenty-Three to Josiah and Marsha Smith. Lot's father was the bishop of the Fort Lauderdale temple of The Church of Jesus Christ and The Latter-day Saints. The seventh of Josiah's ten children, Lot had a pretty traditional childhood for someone of his faith. Lot was a rambunctious child and the most energetic of his five brothers and four sisters. Lot's first athletic endeavor was Archery and he received his first bow a few weeks after his ninth birthday. He actually won a state Archery championship at thirteen years old. This was around the first time Lot joined his middle school football team. The Smith's were keen on making sure that all of their children were well-rounded people and athletics was as much a part of that regimen as education. Lot's tireless nature gave him a natural athletic advantage on the field and he dominated at the running back position from a very young age, setting the Florida state rushing yardage record in his senior year of high school.

College career

When Lot graduated high school he was a four star rated college prospect and while some big name schools such as Clemson and Ohio State were interested in signing him, his enrollment at Brigham Young University was a forgone conclusion. Lot's first game as a freshman came against the University of Tennessee and he quickly grabbed a bit of national attention after he put up one-hundred and seventy three rushing yards against the Volunteers capped off by a seventy-yard rushing touchdown in the third quarter. Lot would finish his freshman season with eight-hundred and eighty nine rushing yards and ten touchdowns. His sophmore season was a bit of let down as he suffered through the lingering effects of a severe ankle sprain he had against Arizona early in the season. He would finish the season with five-hundred and ninety two yards and twelve touchdowns. Smith's junior season with the Cougars was his breakout year. He regained his starting job in training camp and while his touchdown total dropped, he put up one-thousand four hundred and forty two yards, the second highest rushing yardage total in Cougars's season history. He would also pick up a Cotton Bowl MVP award after BYU's twenty-eight to ten win over Boise State. As well as the Maxwell and Doak Walker award.
