Kadarius Claypool II (born December 1, 2034) is an American football cornerback for the Yellowknife Wraiths of the International Simulation Football League (ISFL).

Early years

Claypool II attended American Heritage School in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canda. He was coached by his father, Kadarius Claypool, who played in the National Football League (NFL). Growing up, Kadarius was very talented at hockey, but soon realized that he was much more proficient in the sport of football. Kadarius started playing in all sorts of positions, QB, WR, and eventually settling in as CB, as he claims it is more enjoyable to shut down opposing players, rather than score. He played for the Sunnyside Salmons in Vancouver, and right away started turning heads while he was just 14 years old. Relatively new to the game of football, it was clear that schematically there was some issues, but once learned, Kadarious could have real professional career. In the last year of high school, Kadarius decided that professional football was indeed in his future. A four-star recruit, he committed to play college football at the University of Alabama in 2054.

College career

Signing with Alabama in 2054, Claypool II earned his spot on the starting roster in rookie ball scrimmages of his freshman year. He impressed the coaches immediately with his love for the game and determination to improve. Despite being less expierenced than those around him, many coaches re on the record saying the upside of Claypool ll may be the highest on the team. Claypool was given a starting CB role, rotating between slot corner and sometimes playing the outside. Claypool was impressive throughout his Freshman year with a stat line of 4 INTs, 20 Pass Defended, 3 sacks and 30 tackles. The sesaon ended very poorly for the young cornerback, as a broken wrist ended his seson in the last game before the playoffs, which Alabama went on to lose 20-17. He started his sophomore year off as the main Cornerback, lining up against speed recieving threats due to his size and agility. Claypool was terrific throughout the first half of the seson, with 4 interceptions and a 29 passing rating when the ball was thrown his way, but unfortunately Claypool ll was found to be using magic mushrooms in his dorm, and got suspened for the rest of the season. Many scouts and critics were questioning where this left Claypool ll. Claypool declared for the DSFL draft after his two years at Alabama. A projected first round talent, slipped to the 2nd round, being selected by the Norfolk Seawolves, who hope to reform his offseason issues.

DSFL career

Norfolk Seawolves

Claypool was drafted by the Norfolk Seawolves with the 7th pick of the second round in the Season 40 DSFL draft, which puzzled many draft pundits due to his exceptional showing in the pre-draft scouting games and strong interviews. Norfolk's GM at the time, LordCoolCats, had claimed that Kadarious may be one of the biggest draft steals for the upcoming season. With his strong pre-season showing, Norfolk immediately named Claypool their #1 Cornerback on the Seawolves depth chart.

Norfolk ended up finishing the season with a 10-4 record, earning the top seed in the playoffs. Norfolk, much in large due to their vaunted defensive backs, ended up with the best defense in the entire league. Claypool was undeniably a force for Norfolk, finishing with 81 tackles (1st among CBs), 3 forced fumbles (2nd among CBs), 3 interceptions (2nd among CBs) and 28 passes defended (2nd among CBs). This led to Claypool earning Pro Bowl honors in his rookie season as a starter, a first team All-Pro, and being voted as the best cornerback in the league.

Both Claypool's play and off field leadership led him to being one of the highest regarded draft prospects in the upcoming season 41 ISFL draft. Claypool had numerous visits with teams, with the draft experts expecting him to go in the first round and would eventually be selected 13th overall by the Yellowknife Wraiths.

ISFL Career

Yellowknife Wraiths

Being drafted 13th overall to the reigning Ultimus runner-ups, there was much speculation that Claypool would not be able to crack the Yellowknife roster, mainly due to the competition in the secondary. However, after impressing at rookie camp and in training camp, Zoot (YKW GM) had decided that Claypool would secure the last spot on the ISFL roster. Dominant in his rookie season at Cornerback at the DSFL level, generally shadowing the opposing teams best wideout on the outside, Claypool was relegated to nickel cornerback to start the season (Where he would finish the season as well).

Season 41: There was definately an adjustment period for Claypool, playing nickel. He was constantly rotated for a linebacker on running downs, which goes against the percieved strengths of Claypool. While the first 8 games were relatively lackluster, the last 8 game Claypool was a lot more consistent at the position. Claypool was able to get into the backfield a lot more and put pressure on the quarterback and create hurries. Claypool, a known sure-fire tackler in the DSFL, never missed a single tackle for Yellowknife the entire season. Yellowknife would finish second in the conference, their defense being strong was a main driving factor, only to lose in the first round to Sarasota.

Season 42: Although many experts and pundits had expected Claypool to finally claim an outside cornerback role, and deserving of such, the team decided to give Kalem Mekar & Simon The Frog one last ride before both of their retirements, leaving Claypool in a nickel corner role yet again. With that said, he was named team captain, clearly earning the coaches trust as well as the teams. While the stats may not be eye popping, Claypool displayed all the tools to be a high floor, dynamic corner, registering 41 tackles, 4 sacks, 15 pass defends, and an interception. Year over year, these were all improvements, and Claypool has nothing more to prove in the nickel role as the season closed out. While some may label the year as a write off for his career as a whole, Claypool helped YKW break .500 yet again while they continue their soft-rebuild. The expectation heading into next season is that Claypool is now the #1 cornerback on the roster, and will likely be the player to watch among defensive backs on the roster.

Season 43: Finally given the reigns to be the #1 cornerback on the roster and responsible for shadowing the other team's best reciever, it would be safe to label this season as a suceess. As expected, with the increase in playtime and greater responsibility, Claypool set career bests across the board (outside of sacks, but was no longer tasked with blitzing). Claypool finished with 93 tackles (9th among CBs), 28 pass defends (9th among CBs), and 2 intetceptions (25th among CBs). While YKW struggled as a whole and finished 10th overall, missing the playoffs, the cornerback position was generally not the root cause of the problem. Claypool did mention that he wants to work on not missing any more tackles, as he missed 8 this season -- much higher than any other season in his career. Claypool vowed to improve this for next season, as he deals with the increase size and speed of ISFL pass catchers. DraftKings voted Claypool as the #1 Young Cornerback To Watch entering Season 44.

Season 44: Claypool had one of the most interesting player stats/lines in recent ISFL history. Claypool led all Cornerbacks in the ISFL in tackles, with 106, not recording an intecerception or fumble, and not missing a single tackle. What a clean stat line! This pretty much checks out, as this was the projection of Claypool as he played through college and the DSFL, as has had perfect, no-miss tackles in seasons before at all other levels. Despite this, Yellowknife did not reap the benefits of Claypool's play, as they missed the playoffs again. Still the #1 Cornerback on a rebuilding team, there is hope among analysts that the defensive core will take another stepforward in Season 45, but the QB play likely keeps the team in the basement for the upcoming season. DraftKings voted Claypool as the #1 Young Cornerback To Watch entering Season 45 (as they did last season), his last season for "young" elgibility. The hope is gets some more interceptions and competes for awards, but teams likely will just run the ball on Yellowknife.

Season 45: Coming off a season where Claypool had exceed all expectations, he followed it up with an even better season! Well not only did he finish in the top 5 in interceptions with 6 (a career high), he also had 26 pass breakups and 87 tackles -- leading YKW in all of those stats! But where the magic happened was not actually at corner funny enough, it was the reality that Claypool actually was put back on kick return duties.. and he was outstanding! He actually tied an ISFL record with two full blown returns for touchdowns! This was recongnized all over the league and he was given Second Team all Pro honors for his effort (As the return man) AND Return of the year! Wow! Despite this, Yellowknife did not reap the benefits of Claypool's play, as they missed the playoffs again, finishing 4-12. The hope for next season is he works his way on to the first team all pro!
