Ja'uan "Snowman" Holland (born February 7, 2002) is an American football safety who is currently on the San Jose Sabercats. He played college football for the University of Oregon (Oregon) and will be making his debut in Season 37 of the ISFL.

Early years

Holland was born in Portland, Oregon, while his father was the head coach of the local high school team. He had two older brothers who also played through high school and college, but nothing amounted to their football careers. Having stayed local for his early life, he attended Forest Valley High, where he played as a defensive back and wide receiver under his father. Growing up he always dreamed of playing football with his friends and for his school, but Holland possessed what not many players did. In his senior year, he recorded 34 tackles and 7 interceptions as a defensive back, and 35 receptions for 1,012 yards and 12 touchdowns. It was always very clear how much Holland stood out from his peers, and it was only a matter of time before he would be one of the most electric players in college. He committed to the University of Oregon to play college football as a safety.

College career

As a true freshman at Oregon, Holland played in 13 games and made two starts. For the season he had 42 tackles and a team-high 5 interceptions. As a Sophomore the following year, he became a starter and started all 14 games. He again led the team in interceptions with 4 this time, with 66 total tackles and his first defensive touchdown. During his final year at Oregon, the Junior made school history netting a total of 10 interceptions, along with 72 tackles and a game-winning pick-six to send Oregon to the playoffs. Ultimately nothing would amount in the playoffs as the Ducks were held back by questionable quarterback play, but Holland sure didn't lose quietly. On September 26, 2051, Holland announced that he has opted out of his senior year to declare for the ISFL Draft. Holland ended up going undrafted in the ISFL Draft but is hoping to gather more experience in the DSFL Draft.

Kansas City Coyotes

Holland signed with the Kansas City Coyotes with 4 weeks left in the league. It took him two of those weeks to get familiar with the playbook, but got some playing time in the second to last week. Having recorded nothing in his first game, Holland would go on to start in the final week and record three tackles. Although his regular season stats didn't stand out to most, those who would scout him noticed how he would step up in the playoffs. Recording 6 tackles, with a forced fumble and fumble recovery in crunch time, Holland began getting a feel for the game. As the game went on, the Coyotes' offense began to grow stale, resulting in a week 1 exit in the playoffs. Post playoffs, Holland was released by the Coyotes and prepared for the S36 DSFL Draft, having been projected to go as high as 4th overall to as low as a third-round pick.

Norfolk Seawolves

Year One

With the first pick in the second round of the 35th draft, the Norfolk Seawolves selected Ja'uan Holland. He would be the second piece of a nearly entirely rookie secondary that would go on to do great things. As a part of the Seawolves, he came in as an immediate starting Safety and proved to be one of the better ones in his class. He showed some semblance of his college spark totaling 3 interceptions, 2 sacks, 2 forced fumbles, and 10 passes deflected on top of 57 tackles. One of his more spectacular games came against the first meeting between them and the Portland Pythons, where Ja'uan's impact was not seen as a defender, but as a special teamer. Returning a punt, Holland broke off for an 80-yard punt return touchdown, and then on the next kickoff went for a 101-yard kick return touchdown. In a 30-24 victory, Holland's most notable game came as an out-of-position player. He was a pretty large piece of the puzzle that led the Seawolves to a 10-4 finish, getting second in the South and clinching a playoff position. The Seawolves managed to steamroll the favorites in the league, the Tijuana Luchadores to make an Ultimini berth, and ultimately defeated the Kansas City Coyotes for Holland's first Ultimini victory and a great end for his first full year as a Seawolf as he enters the ISFL draft.

Year Two

With the 7th pick in the S36 ISFL draft, the safety Holland would be picked by the San Jose SaberCats. Although his professional team decided to take him so highly in the draft, Holland would stay down in the DSFL with the Norfolk Seawolves to develop his playstyle a little more before making his big league debut. With the plan to become a more well-rounded player, Ja'uan and his GMs opted to work on becoming a better player than what he was already comfortable with. He had no interceptions this year, instead working on his vision and watching the play break down in real-time. Stats wise this showed with his increased tackle load, but less flashy and eye-catching stats. It didn't help that the Seawolves would be on the downturn, not appearing in playoffs, so Holland did not have the luxury to perform at his best without the safety net of his first Seawolves team. Regardless, he had a good enough year the SaberCats felt confident enough to bring Holland aboard, and will make his professional debut in Season 37.
