Origins

The Kansas City Coyotes are an original team of the Developmental Simulation Football League, which had its inaugural season in 2018. The Coyotes were assigned to the Eastern division along with the San Antonio Marshals and the Tijuana Luchadores

2018 Season

Preseason

The Kansas City Coyotes had the unfortunate luck of two back-to-back away games in their very first preseason. They lost both of those away games - the first against the Chicago Blues, the second against the Marshals. In the second half of the preseason, the Coyotes played at home and played much better as a result. In preseason week three Kansas City won over the Luchadores, and in week four they were victorious over the Blues.

Season Performance

The Coyotes started their season on the back foot, losing their first ever in disappointing fashion, losing by 17 to San Antonio. They would bounce back strong in the next game, winning in dominate fashion over the Tijuana Luchadores. After losing in gut-wrenching fashion to Chicago, getting within a field goal to win, the Coyotes would win their next two over the Marshals and Seawolves respectively. The team couldn't keep their momentum going for any longer than two games it seemed because they would flip-flop from winning two games to losing two games for the rest of the season. The would only break that streak by bouncing back against the Portland Pythons after losing to San Antonio. After losing their last two games of the season, they entered the playoffs with a 7-7 record as the runner up to San Antonio, who went 9-5. The Marshals would beat the Coyotes in dominating fashion, holding Kansas City to just nine points on the day. The Coyotes used a pass heavy system this season, showcasing the arm strength and accuracy of Quarterback Shawn Brady, who threw for 3020 yards and 15 touchdowns. These numbers would give the Coyotes the best offense in the division and second in the league behind Norfolk. Running back Jovan Grujicic would pick up 910 yards and 6 touchdowns and Wide Receiver Victor DeMar would pick up 599 yards and 6 Touchdowns.

Postseason

The Kansas City Coyotes faced the San Antonio Marshals in the semifinals of the 2018 postseason. They held a narrow lead through the first quarter, but struggled with the rest of the game, ultimately suffering a defeat with a final score of 41-9, eliminating them from the playoffs.

2019 Season

Preseason

The Kansas City Coyotes preseason record for 2019 was 2-2-0. In their single home game, they won 23-17 against the Tijuana Luchadores. They won against the Seawolves in Norfolk, but dropped games 1 and 3 to Chicago and Portland, respectively.

Season Performance

The second season in the league was a tough one for the Coyotes. After winning 3 of the first 5 games of the season, the team was unable to secure a win between week 5 and week 14. In week 10, the team tied Norfolk in a game that ended 7-7, but that would not be the momentum boost the team desperately needed. Kansas City closed the season with a final record of 4-9-1, the worst record in the league.

The Coyotes boasted the best defense against the passing game in the entire league, but fell short on defending the rush. Offensively the team relied on a pass heavy game, but the lack of a running game turned out to be a significant obstacle.

Postseason

The Kansas City Coyotes did not qualify for the 2019 DSFL postseason.

2020 Season

Conference Changes

Between the 2019 and 2020 seasons, the DSFL conferences were rearranged, and while the Coyotes did not change conferences, both of the other teams in the Eastern conference were moved to the West. In their place, Kansas City was joined by the Portland Pythons and Norfolk Seawolves to collectively form the DSFL East.

Preseason

Kansas City struggled through the entire preseason of 2020, unable to collect even a single win throughout the four game series. Their lack of offense was the primary culprit for their lack of success: the team averaged only 5 and a half points per game through the preseason. Their 0-4 preseason record would be an accurate predictor of their regular season.

Season Performance

The Coyotes won only four games in the 2020 season, finishing with a record of 4-10-0, just narrowly missing the performance of 2019. Kansas City were the worst offense in the league, scoring only 174 points through the season. The team’s defense was slightly better - fifth in the league, allowing 11 fewer points against than their conference opponents, the Norfolk Seawolves.

Postseason

At the bottom of the conference standings after week 14, The Kansas City Coyotes did not qualify to play in the 2020 postseason.

2021 Season

Conference Changes

The names of the DSFL conferences were changed prior to the 2021 season. Teams which were previously in the East are now considered part of the North, and the West conference became South.

Preseason

The Coyotes started 2021 strong with a commanding 34-3 win at home over the Tijuana Luchadores. The team picked up another preseason win at home in game three against the San Antonio Marshals. Kansas City played and lost away games against Palm Beach and Portland in weeks two and four, respectively.

Season Performance

In an incredible turnaround from the previous season, the Kansas City Coyotes finished the regular season with the best complete offense in the league. The Portland Pythons boasted a slightly better rushing game, but fell far short of the Coyotes in passing offense. In contrast to the losing streaks of the previous years, Kansas City experienced a streak of wins lasting six games, from week four to week nine. The Coyotes finished the regular season second in the North with a record of 8-6-0.

Postseason

The Kansas City Coyotes played the Portland Pythons in the Conference Championship semifinal round of the postseason. The Coyotes were able to complete the upset and come away with the victory with a final score of 24-17, making them officially the North Conference Champions for the 2021 season. The team went head-to-head against the SFC champion San Antonio Marshals for the Ultimini Championship and lost with a final score of 23-13.

2022 Season

Preseason

Kansas City’s preseason performance faltered in 2022 - the team was able to secure only one win out of the four games played. In a bizarre coincidence, the three preseason losses happened in a row, and in each game the winner’s final score was 24. Unfortunately for the Coyotes, they were unable to overcome the offensive pressure put on by their opponents.

Season Performance

The Coyotes performed admirably throughout the season, finishing with a record of 9-5-0, good enough to place them second within the North conference behind the Portland Pythons for the second year in a row. The North proved to be an especially competitive conference this season, with Portland and Kansas City taking the #1 and #2 positions for best team offense and best team defense.

Postseason

For the second season in a row, Kansas City would square off against the Portland Pythons for the North Conference Championship. The Coyotes played a strong first half, but were unable to produce in the second half, causing them to lose their lead, and ultimately the game, with a final score of 19-13.

2023 Season

Preseason

For the third year in a row, the Kansas City Coyotes won their first preseason game against the Tijuana Luchadores. The team then hit the road for games in Portland and Norfolk, which they lost. Back at home for the final preseason game, the Coyotes defeated the Palm Beach Solar Bears with a final score of 21-3. The team finished the preseason 2-2 and were undefeated at home.

Season Performance

2023 was, at the time, the best performance year in the regular season for the Kansas City Coyotes. The team collected 10 wins, finishing first in the conference and second overall in the league. Their 10-4-0 record placed them a full four wins ahead of the Portland Pythons. The Coyotes showed their strength on both sides of the ball this season, with the defensive core standing out statistically more than the offense. Kansas City allowed only 222 points through the 14 week season, a low for the league. The biggest hot streak of the season started in week nine and continued until the postseason.

Postseason

The Kansas City Coyotes were declared NFC Champions after defeating the Portland Pythons with a final score of 24-13. They faced the Tijuana Luchadores (the SFC Champions) in the Ultimini. The Coyotes lost the Ultimini despite being up 17-0 at halftime. The Luchadores defense held the Coyotes to only 3 points in the second half, where they were able to gain ground offensively. The Kansas City Coyotes lost the 2023 Ultimini Championship by a single point, final score 21-20 in favor of Tijuana.

2024 Season

Preseason

For the first time since 2020, the Kansas City Coyotes would lose their first game of the preseason to the Tijuana Luchadores in a very close 23-21 game. The team responded well, rallying to win the remaining three preseason games and entering the regular season with the momentum of a win streak.

Season Performance

Kansas City presented a strong case for their return to the Ultimini this season, leading the NFC North with a final record of 9-5-0. The team was at or near the top of the league in every offensive and defensive team statistic: Highest offensive yardage and passing yardage in the league, second best rushing game in the league, and the best overall defense in the league. Portland eked out a narrow 3-point advantage in Points For throughout the season, but the Kansas City defense secured the playoff position for the Coyotes by allowing only 239 Points Against.

Postseason

The Kansas City Coyotes once again met the Portland Pythons in the NFC Championship game. The fate of the game was decided in the first quarter, when the Pythons were able to score 6 points and hold the Coyotes to 0. The teams would go on to score in identical numbers through the remaining three quarters. The Kansas City Coyotes were eliminated from the 2024 postseason by the Portland Pythons with a final game score of 26-20.

2025 Season

Preseason

Very similarly to the 2024 season, Kansas City would win three of the four preseason games, only losing the first of the season to the Tijuana Luchadores. The three victories were over SFC teams - once over the Marshals and twice over the Solar Bears.

Season Performance

Significant roster changes within the organization caused a substantial slide in competitiveness for the Coyotes in 2025. The team would reverse the previous season record to finish the season 5-9-0, trailing the Seawolves for a playoff position by a single game. The team’s record is evident in their performance through the season. The Kansas City Coyotes had the worst overall defense in the league in 2025, and the worst offense in the conference. The team performed much better at home, with a local record of 5-2-0 versus on the road, where they lost all seven games they played.

Postseason

The Kansas City Coyotes did not qualify for the 2025 postseason.

2026 Season

Preseason

Kansas City got off to a hot start in the preseason, winning the first two games played. They were unable to keep that momentum, however, and lost the remaining two preseason games.

Season Performance

The Coyotes had a winning season overall, with a final regular season record of 9-5-0. Their performance throughout the season was very strong overall. Only two teams in the league were able to win over Kansas City in the regular season: the Portland Pythons, and the San Antonio Marshals. The Portland Pythons delivered 80% of the team’s losses this season (four games.) This season is a great example of a division with two teams reaching the peak of their performance at the same time. The Kansas City defense was steady in the overall sense, but were statistically the worst defense against the passing game in the league. By contrast, the offense excelled, second overall in the league and best in terms of rushing game.

Postseason

For the NFC Championship, the Kansas City Coyotes squared off against the league-leading 13-1-0 Portland Pythons. In a result that would surprise no one, the Coyotes would lose in their fifth meeting of 2026. The final score of that game was 23-6.

2027 Season

Preseason

The Kansas City Coyotes preseason could not have gone any worse for them. Their schedule started with three away games in a row, and they were unsuccessful in each of them. In the final preseason game they faced the Tijuana Luchadores in Kansas City, but were unable to rally for a victory in front of the home crowd. That loss would conclude the dismal 2027 preseason, and Kansas City submitted a preseason record of 0-4.

Season Performance

In terms of statistics, the Coyotes played a very sound and balanced game overall this season. While they didn’t manage to lead the league in any specific category, they also avoided the bottom of the pack. Their record would suggest that a well-rounded game is the key to success, as the team finished the regular season with a record of 10-4-0. Interestingly, Kansas City had a streaky season, with all of their wins coming in strings of three or four.

Postseason

Their position at the top of the NFC standings earned the Kansas City Coyotes a playoff position. In the NFC Championship game, the Coyotes were once again pitted against their rivals, the Portland Pythons. Kansas City hit the ground running, putting 11 points on the board in the first quarter, while Portland was left scoreless. That lead would keep the Coyotes ahead for the rest of the game, they would endure the Pythons’ final offensive push in the fourth quarter to emerge the NFC Champions. The final score of the game was 21-16.

For the second time in team history, the Kansas City Coyotes competed in the Ultimini Championship. Their opponents were the San Antonio Marshals, the champions of the SFC. Kansas City showed the strength of the NFC, defeating the Marshals soundly, with a final score of 37-7.

In 2027, the Kansas City Coyotes were crowned Ultimini Champions for the first time.

2028 Season

Preseason

Fresh off the high of an incredible season and an Ultimini win, the Kansas City Coyotes absolutely dominated the preseason, securing a perfect 4-0 record. Defeating both division rivals in the preseason set the tone that the Coyotes were determined to play a very strong season in 2028.

Season Performance

Kansas City played a well-rounded game this season, very similarly to 2027. The Coyotes had the best overall offense and defense in the North, and were outperformed only by the Marshals in the South. Throughout the season, both Kansas City and Portland performed very well, and they had a tied record of 8-5-0 after week 13. Their meeting in week 14 was the deciding factor for which team stood at the top of the standings during the regular season. In a 17-10 victory, the Coyotes improved to 9-5-0 and won the conference.

Postseason

The Kansas City Coyotes played against the Portland Pythons for the NFC Championship. They favored the passing game and it turned out to be the right decision; the Coyotes won the NFC Championship game over the Pythons with a final score of 21-10. They progressed to the Ultimini Championship where they faced the Tijuana Luchadores.

The 2028 Ultimini Championship game was one of the most thrilling to date. In a very back-and-forth scoring game, the teams would find themselves tied at the end of regulation time. In overtime, the Tijuana Luchadores would make a successful field goal attempt to become the Ultimini Champions, eliminating the Kansas City Coyotes in the final game of the postseason.

2029 Season

Preseason

The preseason started in a difficult way for the Kansas City Coyotes, and that difficulty would carry through the entirety of the season. After losing the first two of the preseason, the Coyotes were able to stop the skid and find the win in the following two games, going into the regular season with a record of 2-2.

Season Performance

Unfortunately for the fans in Kansas City, the 2029 season would be one of the worst for the Coyotes. With a final record of 2-12-0, they were the worst team in the league. In terms of overall offense and defense, the team also had the worst numbers in the league. The only category which they didn’t rank dead last was in the passing game, where their offense and defense were firmly middle-of-the-pack. The Coyotes would score an average of 14 points per game while allowing over twice that number.

Postseason

The Kansas City Coyotes did not qualify for the 2029 postseason.

2030 Season

Preseason

In the first game of the 2030 preseason, the Coyotes were in Palm Beach, and they secured a narrow win over the Solar Bears, final score 20-18. The rest of the preseason didn’t go so well, unfortunately. Kansas City lost the remaining three games of the preseason.

Season Performance

Kansas City made a drastic improvement over the prior 2029 season and finished the season tied for first in the conference with a final record of 7-7-0. The DSFL had a very even balance of teams in 2030; no team had more than nine or fewer than five wins at the end of the regular season. The Coyotes found some success in their rushing game, though the overall offense was at the bottom of the league.

Postseason

In the NFC Championship game, the Kansas City Coyotes were eliminated by the Portland Pythons with a final game score of 31-7.

2031 Season

Preseason

The Kansas City Coyotes started the year off with a very close loss against the Seawolves, but were able to quickly bounce back and find three wins in the next three games. Their postseason was a successful one, with a record of 3-1.

Season Performance

2031 was a familiar experience for the Coyotes. As has happened to them in previous seasons, their skill and effort, despite leading the rest of the league, is eclipsed by their conference rivals, the Portland Pythons. In terms of passing offense and defense, and in terms of total offensive and defensive yardage, the Coyotes surpassed every other team in the league, including the Tijuana Luchadores, who had the best season record (12-2-0). Ultimately, despite the talent of the team, Kansas City would finish the season with a winning record of 8-6-0, good enough for second in the conference, and earning them a place in the playoffs.

Postseason

In the 2031 NFC Championship game, the Kansas City Coyotes were defeated by the Portland Pythons with a final game score of 23-13.

2032 Season

Preseason

The Kansas City Coyotes faced a difficult preseason schedule, with their first two opponents being the Ultimini competitors of the previous season. When faced against the Marshals for back-to-back preseason games, they were victorious. Overall, the final preseason record was 2-2.

Season Performance

The Coyotes performed as a solid second-place team in the NFC. In comparison to the league overall, Kansas City lagged behind the average stats in both overall offense and defense. The Coyotes finished the season with a final record of 6-8-0. Their record would be good enough for a playoff position, but expectations for the team’s performance was low.

Postseason

In the 2032 NFC Championship game, the Kansas City Coyotes were defeated by the Portland Pythons with a final game score of 27-17.

2033 Season

Preseason

The Kansas City Coyotes went 2-2 in their 2033 preseason, picking up early wins against the Tijuana Luchadores and the Myrtle Beach Buccaneers (formerly the Palm Beach Solar Bears) and suffering losses at the hands of the Norfolk Seawolves and the San Antonio Marshals. Their even record would foreshadow the performance of the team during the regular season.

Season Performance

The team focused heavily on the rushing game this season, earning the position of third overall in rushing yardage for the league. Conversely, they were the least successful passing team in the league in 2033. The Coyotes would struggle to put together any consistency throughout the season. The ever-dominant Portland Pythons were responsible for a staggering 57% of the team’s losses this season. The Coyotes finished the 2023 season with an even record of 7-7-0. That record qualified them for a postseason position.

Postseason

In the 2033 NFC Championship game, the Kansas City Coyotes were defeated by the Portland Pythons with a final game score of 28-17.

2034 Season

Conference Changes

The 2034 season brought the league some conference changes which are important to highlight here. First, the San Antonio Marshals were rebranded to the Grey Ducks and relocated to Minnesota in the NFC. As a result, Kansas City was moved to the SFC.

Preseason

The Kansas City Coyotes’ performance in the offseason left much to be desired - maybe the stress of the conference change caused deeper issues. Ultimately, the team would secure a single preseason win against the Norfolk Seawolves.

Season Performance

In their worst season since 2029, the Kansas City Coyotes finished the season at the bottom of the SFC standings with a final record of 4-10-0 on the season. In terms of statistics, the Coyotes were in a dead heat for worst in the league. Kansas City’s offensive and defensive performance was only slightly better when rushing - their passing game (on both sides of the ball) was bottom of the league. This season featured several strong contending teams and the Coyotes were simply unable to keep up.

Postseason

The Kansas City Coyotes did not qualify for the 2034 postseason.

2035 Season

Conference Changes

After being moved to the SFC only last season, the Kansas City Coyotes were returned to their original home in the NFC. To keep the conferences in balance, the Norfolk Seawolves moved to the SFC.

Preseason

The Coyotes hit the ground running in 2035, quickly collecting three preseason wins before having their momentum interrupted with a loss. The early success was a great way to revitalize the fan base after a tumultuous few seasons.

Season Performance

The Kansas City Coyotes passing defense was second to none in the league during the 2035 season. As a complete unit, their performance was below the league average on both sides of the ball. The Coyotes completed their season with a record of 5-9-0, which placed them second in the NFC and tied for fourth in league standings.

Postseason

In the 2035 NFC Championship game, the Kansas City Coyotes were defeated by the Minnesota Grey Ducks with a final game score of 36-7.

2036 Season

DSFL Expansion

In 2036, the DSFL was expanded from six teams to eight, introducing the Dallas Birddogs to the SFC and the London Royals to the NFC.

Preseason

Kansas City struggled to find their footing in the early preseason. They lost the first three games before getting a victory in their first contest against the Dallas Birddogs.

Season Performance

The Coyotes were strong in 2036, leading their division at the end of the regular season. Their final record was 9-5-0. The team once again found themselves favoring the passing game over rushing this season, and it served them fairly well. Kansas City had the second best offense next to the Seawolves, and the second best defense behind the Pythons. This balanced approach has worked for the team in seasons past.

Postseason

In the 2036 NFC Championship game, the Kansas City Coyotes were victorious over the Portland Pythons with a final game score of 31-7.

The Coyotes progressed to the Ultimini, where their opponent was the Myrtle Beach Buccaneers. Kansas City was unable to match the scoring pace of the Buccaneers and lost the game, final score 27-10.

2037 Season

Preseason

The preseason was an indicator of what was to come for the Coyotes in 2037. They struggled with scoring, putting only 58 points on the board across the entire four game preseason. The team managed to secure two of the four possible wins, finishing the preseason 2-2.

Season Performance

The season was a rough ride for the Coyotes. The team dropped in standings to dead last by the end of the regular season. Their final record was 5-9-0. Kansas City’s rushing offense led the conference in yardage, but their overall offense was worst in the league. The team also had the unfortunate honor of having the statistically worst overall defense in the league.

Postseason

The Kansas City Coyotes did not qualify for the 2037 postseason.

2038 Season

Preseason

In an especially tough preseason, the Kansas City Coyotes lost their first two games. First in London against the Royals, and then in Minnesota against the Grey Ducks. They won over the Portland Pythons in their third preseason game, but would not be able to keep the streak alive, losing to the Myrtle Beach Buccaneers in a painful game which ended with a score of 50-3. The team would finish the preseason 1-3.

Season Performance

Kansas City made significant improvements in 2038 over 2037. In terms of overall defense, the team had become the best in the league. Their offense lagged behind developmentally, but was still much improved over the previous season. The NFC was especially contentious, with two wins separating first in the standings from last. The Coyotes ended the season with an even record of 7-7-0, which would place them in a tie for first in the standings with the London Royals.

Postseason

In the 2038 NFC Championship game, the Kansas City Coyotes were victorious over the London Royals with a final game score of 14-13. The Royals were leading by 6 points going into the fourth quarter, but the Coyotes were able to mount a comeback and find the victory.

The Coyotes progressed to the Ultimini, where their opponent was the Norfolk Seawolves. Ultimately, the Seawolves offense overcame the Coyote’s league-leading defense to get the win. The Kansas City Coyotes lost the 2038 Ultimini Championship game with a final score of 26-6.

2039 Season

Preseason

The Kansas City Coyotes finished the four game preseason with a record of 1-3. Their lone win was against the Dallas Birddogs after losing three in a row to the Buccaneers, Luchadores, and Pythons. The team again struggled with scoring performance, scoring only 57 points across four games.

Season Performance

In another very close season for the NFC, the Coyotes would find themselves muscled out of the top of the standings by the London Royals. The majority of the team’s success in the season came by way of a four game winning streak beginning against the Minnesota Grey Ducks in week six. They followed that win with three more, defeating the Royals, Buccaneers, and Birddogs. Tijuana broke the Coyotes’ streak in week 10, defeating them 27-21. At 6-8-0, Kansas City had a tied record with the Portland Pythons. In order to determine playoff eligibility, the tiebreaker came down to the Pythons having a higher Points For figure.

Postseason

The Kansas City Coyotes did not qualify for the 2039 postseason.

2040 Season

Preseason

Kansas City was able to win only a single one of their preseason games. The win was over long-time conference nemesis, the Portland Pythons. Their losses came from the Tijuana Luchadores, London Royals, and Norfolk Seawolves.

Season Performance

2040 proved to be a very difficult season for the Coyotes. They were statistically the worst team in their conference both offensively and defensively. There was a substantial skill disparity between the two conferences this season. Kansas City finished in a tie for last in the NFC with a final regular season record of 7-7-0. That same record would earn second place in the SFC standings. The team enjoyed a four game win streak between weeks six and nine, but finished the season with no momentum left, dropping their final three games.

Postseason

The Kansas City Coyotes did not qualify for the 2040 postseason.

2041 Season

Preseason

The Kansas City Coyotes were successful in their first contest of 2041, winning at home against the Tijuana Luchadores in a game which interestingly had no touchdowns, and the only points came from field goals. The final score was 9-6. Following that interesting performance, the team tanked the remainder of the preseason, falling against the Pythons, Royals, and Seawolves.

Season Performance

The Coyotes would record their worst season to date in 2041. Kansas City would go winless from week 1 through week 10. The team managed a win in week 11 against the also-struggling Tijuana Luchadores, outscoring them 27-10. Weeks 12-14 would offer nothing but heartache to the Coyotes, bringing another three straight losses. The Kansas City Coyotes finished the regular season with a record of 1-13-0, the very bottom of the league.

Postseason

The Kansas City Coyotes did not qualify for the 2041 postseason.

2042 Season

Preseason

The Kansas City Coyotes, coming off their worst season in franchise history, had difficulty finding momentum early. Across the first three games of the preseason, the team scored only a total of 30 points, and lost all three games. Momentum shifted in their favor in the fourth preseason game, when they won a 23-10 victory over the Norfolk Seawolves.

Season Performance

Much to the relief of fans, Kansas City’s overall game had improved drastically from the previous year. The Coyotes were third in the league in terms of overall defense, even if they were still finding their footing defensively. Things looked grim during the five game loss streak between week five and nine, but the team rallied to finish the season strong, winning the final five games of the season. The Kansas City Coyotes finished the season with an even 7-7-0 record and a second-place finish in the NFC standings.

Postseason

In the 2038 NFC Championship game, the Kansas City Coyotes were victorious over the Portland Pythons with a final game score of 31-21. In an incredible comeback win, the Coyotes trailed by 7 points going into the fourth quarter. They scored two touchdowns and a field goal in the fourth quarter and prevented the Pythons from generating any offense whatsoever.

The Coyotes progressed to the Ultimini, where their opponent was the Dallas Birddogs. The Coyotes mounted an effective offense in the second quarter, scoring three touchdowns. Unfortunately, that was their only scoring through the game, and the consistent effort of Dallas proved to be a more sound strategy. The Dallas Birddogs defeated the Kansas City Coyotes in the Ultimini Championship game with a final score of 23-21.

2043 Season

Preseason

In a very encouraging start to 2043, the Kansas City Coyotes were undefeated in the preseason. They first beat the Pythons and Seawolves on a short road trip, and then hosted the Royals and Birddogs to win the following two.

Season Performance

For as much success as the preseason saw, it amounted to very little in the regular season. The Coyotes lost all momentum, dropping their first three regular season games in a row. The team would rally for a four game win streak in the mid-season, but would struggle to find consistent success in the schedule. Kansas City finished the season 7-7-0. While that record was enough to help the team make it all the way to the Ultimini Championship game in 2042, it placed the Coyotes at the bottom of the NFC standings this season.

Postseason

The Kansas City Coyotes did not qualify for the 2043 postseason.

2044 Season

Preseason

The Kansas City Coyotes had a favorable preseason schedule, playing the first three of the four games in their own stadium. The Coyotes won two of those three, one against the Birddogs, one against the Royals. Unfortunately, they were unable to win in front of the home crowd against the Minnesota Grey Ducks. On the road, the team was defeated by the Tijuana Luchadores. Kansas City had an even 2-2 record in the 2044 preseason.

Season Performance

2044 showed substantial improvement in the overall skill level of the Coyotes. The team’s offense was third overall in the league, and their passing game was second only to the Grey Ducks. Not a defensive powerhouse, Kansas City was firmly middle of the pack statistically. The Coyotes would make a slight record improvement over 2043, finding themselves with a record of 8-5-1 at the end of the regular season. Their tie came in week nine against the Norfolk Seawolves in a game which ended 37-37.

Postseason

In the 2044 NFC Championship game, the Kansas City Coyotes were defeated by the Minnesota Grey Ducks with a final game score of 40-20.

2045 Season

Preseason

The Kansas City Coyotes enjoyed a successful preseason in 2045, winning the final three in a row after a close 28-25 loss to the Minnesota Grey Ducks.

Season Performance

The Coyotes made corrections in the offseason to improve their defensive core. Where last season they were average at best, this season the team’s defense was second in the league behind the Portland Pythons. Unfortunately, the ground gained in defense was lost somewhat in offense: the team finished 2045 with the third-worst offense in the league. The regular season would end for the Kansas City Coyotes with a record of 7-6-1. Their record would place them firmly third in the NFC standings.

Postseason

The Kansas City Coyotes did not qualify for the 2045 postseason.

2046 Season

Preseason

Kansas City had a hot start in the preseason, winning 51-37 over the Royals in London during the first week. At home against the Portland Pythons, the team would take an even more commanding victory, this time 56-10. From there, things became more difficult - the Coyotes suffered a single-point loss to the Minnesota Grey Ducks in week three and then lost to the Norfolk Seawolves at home by a margin of only three points to finish the preseason.

Season Performance

The Kansas City Coyotes performed admirably this season. Their offense, while not impressive to the SFC, was strong enough to be rated best in the NFC. Defensively, the team struggled, allowing 388 points during the course of the season. For the third season in a row, the team enjoyed a winning record, ending with 7-6-1. This was also the third season in a row which featured a tie game for the Coyotes, this time against the Portland Pythons in week 2. The Coyotes’ performance earned them a second-place finish in the NFC standings.

Postseason

In the 2046 NFC Championship game, the Kansas City Coyotes were victorious over the Minnesota Grey Ducks with a final game score of 30-27. In this meeting, the Kansas City offense was able to overcome the staunch Minnesota defense to come back from a third-period deficit and grind their way to a win.

The Coyotes progressed to the Ultimini, where their opponent was the Dallas Birddogs. The Coyotes mounted an effective offense in the first half, leading by 11 going into halftime. Unfortunately, that was their only scoring through the game, and the Birddogs played an incredible fourth quarter of football, scoring three touchdowns while holding Kansas City scoreless through the quarter. The Dallas Birddogs defeated the Kansas City Coyotes in the Ultimini Championship game with a final score of 31-20.

2047 Season

Preseason

Kansas City would have to wait until the third week of the preseason to find their first and only win over the Minnesota Grey Ducks. The Royals, Pythons, and Seawolves each delivered a sound defeat to the Coyotes. The team’s preseason record was 1-3.

Season Performance

2047 was a frustrating year for Kansas City fans. On paper, the team should have performed much better than it did. The Coyotes sported the best rushing offense in the league, and allowed the fewest yards defensively in the league. They were unable to put things together to come out on top, however, and finished the season with a record of 5-9-0, landing in third place in the NFC. The Coyotes were .500 through the early season until hitting a six-game skid of consecutive losses.

Postseason

The Kansas City Coyotes did not qualify for the 2047 postseason.
