Gusztáv Farkas (born March 26, 2039) is an American football offensive lineman who is currently preparing to enter the professional ranks. He played college football for the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) and later transfered to Marshall University (MU) and has declared his intent to enter the professional ranks next season.

Early years

Gusztáv Farkas was born in Székesfehérvár, Hungary to János Farkas and Rózsa Horváth. When Gusztáv was 2 years old, he and his family would move to San Jose, USA. His father János is a huge Metallica fan and wanted to be able to visit more concerts by being in the California area. Growing up in the states Gusztáv would fall in love with the sport of American Football and would watch and cheer for his hometown team, the San Jose Sabercats every game day. He enrolled into flag football at the age of 6 and would continue to keep improving his skills as he advanced through the ranks. While attending LeLand High School Gusztáv would become a starting Offensive Lineman, playing the blind side tackle role, in his Sophomore year after the previous starter graduated. In his Junior year Farkas would tear his ACL during practice, a severe injury which put his dreams of becoming a professional football player at risk. After a long and tough recovery period of roughly eight and a half months, Farkas would slowly start building up his training regime. He would be fit and ready to play by the start of his Senior year. During his senior year, Farkas’ play would put him in the spotlight with scouts and he would end up as one of the best up and coming prospects at the offensive line position. He would end up receiving many scholarships from various schools across the country.

College career

"As a top rated offensive lineman Farkas would receive many college scholarships including ones from, San Diego State, University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa, University of Alabama and University of Michigan. However in the end Gusztáv would choose a scholarship from University of Alabama at Birmingham and would rep the Blazers.

Farkas would come into the squad right away and tried to contend for his spot as a blind side tackle. However Farkas would fall short in his first off season training camp and would have to be content with being a reserve guard for the time being. It took Farkas some time to get up to speed with the level of play at the college level. However half way through his Freshman season, he would start to crack into the ranks. He wouldn’t start a game until the 10th game of the season, but had been getting more shifts during the previous couple of games. Farkas and the Blazers would finish the season with a 8-4 record and would partake in the George Costanza memorial bowl. Here they would beat New Mexico State with a 24-10 scoreline. Farkas would get himself 3 pancakes on the day.

During his second season in Alabama Farkas would find himself in a rough situation. After a poor start to the season the Blazers would fire their head coach. The new coach that was brought in just did not seem to care for Farkas in the slightest. With the result that Farkas would see the field less and less as the season went on. The Blazers would end with a 4-8 record and Farkas would decide to transfer once the season was over.

For his Junior season Farkas would transfer to Marshall University and join the Thundering Herd. Here Farkas would finally find his stride in college football. He successfully took over as the teams first choice blind spot tackle and would play some of his best football to date. In a big season for the herd, they finished 10-2 and would partake in Farkas’ second bowl game. In the “I can’t believe it’s not butter!” Bowl, Farkas would lead both sides in pancakes with 7 total and the team would secure a tough fought 30-27 win over Arkansas.

For his Senior season Farkas would stay with the Thundering Herd, which ended up being a smart move. Through stellar recruiting and committed coaches the Herd were able to achieve a perfect 12-0 season. No respect was put on the team’s name though and they missed out on a chance to battle for the national championship.  In the Yodel Kid memorial bowl Farkas would win his third and final bowl game. The Thunder Herd would beat The Nebraska Cornhuskers 42-10 in a blow out win. Farkas would contribute with 5 pancakes. "
