Gaius Gleel (born October 31, 2033) is an American football linebacker who is currently preparing to enter the professional ranks.He played Ultimate Frisbee for Bennington College (BEN) and has declared his intent to enter the professional ranks next season.

Early years

Gaius Gleel was born to Wasrabi Gleel and Pam Pringle on October 31st, 2032. A sensative soul, Gaius was not interested in football until much later in his life. He spent much more of his time playing with other kids, building tree forts, and working at the local grocery store, rather than exercising or training. He grew quickly, reaching the six foot mark well before his 12th birthday, and was always pressured to join sports at school. Though he enjoyed watching football, Gleel was something of a gentle giant who didn't want to hurt the much smaller children. Despite being urged by his father to apply to Dartmouth College, Gleel decided instead to attend a liberal arts school in Southern VT called Bennington College. His father agreed to let him attend the school of his choice, but that he would not pay for such an expensive school and a "useless degree."

College career

"Gleel enrolled at Bennington College in 2050, focusing primarily on ceramics and literature. While there, he became exposed to a sport he would immediately be drawn to: Ultimate Frisbee. With some of the same play-calling and flashy moments as gridiron football, but without the violence, Gleel was happy to join with the college's intramural team. He quickly went on to dominate the intramural ultimate frisbee circuit, and used his elite speed and agility to set school records for touchdowns and interceptions; playing primarily as a wide receiver and cornerback. In each of his four years at Bennington, the Bennington Bruins hoisted the intramural trophy and was declared league MVP. After graduating from Bennington in 2054, Gleel immediately realized that he had no way of paying back these ludicrious student loans, and asked his father for help. His father told him there were millions to be made playing in the ISFL, and a successful football career would be an easy way to pay for as much as 50% of the outstanding debt and interest.

DSFL S42

Gaius Gleel showed off great instincts in his first season as a Kansas City Coyote. His quickness helped him become one of the premier run-stopping linebackers, excelling particularly at shutting down the edge and preventing outside zone runs. He was part of an above average Kansas City squad which was able to make the playoffs despite a 6-8 overall regular season record. When asked about his rookie year, Gaius had this to say: "I feel like we were a lot better than our record said. I think there were a few games where we let off the gas pedal a bit, and that came back to hurt us in the 4th quarter. For me, I think I was just getting my head in the right place for this league. The game moves quicker at this level and by the end of the season I feel like the game was slowing down for me. I expect big things from year two." Gaius appealed to GMs ahead of the ISFL S43 draft to consider taking him in the first round, telling the media he'll likely only play for one team his entire career like his father before him.

DSFL S43 Gleel, building off of a rock solid rookie year, came out of the gates swinging in S43 and quickly rose to the top of the defensive stat board with his sideline to sideline tackling ability. He improved his speed so much that he alone became the fastest linebacker in the DSFL, showing elite quickness particularly in getting around the edge and into the backfield on running plays. He led the entire league in tackles with an impressive 137 tackles on the year, but it was TFLs that really showed how Gleel had improved his game, as he led the league with 20 TFLs--three more than the next competitor. Still, all that on field success hardly translated into team wins, with the Coyotes finishing under .500 with a 5-7-1 record where they squeaked into the playoffs only to be bounced out one and done. With Berlin not ready to call him up to the pros, Gleel had one more season to see if he and his Coyotes could make it to the Ultimini championship.
