Christopher Halla (born August 11, 2031) is an American football wide receiver who is currently preparing to enter the professional ranks. He played college football for University of Connecticut (UCONN) and has declared his intent to enter the professional ranks next season.

Early years

Chris Halla was born in Southington, CT. He had 2 twin older sisters, and a loving Mother, Christine, a church receptionist, and a loving Father a mechanical Engineer. He played football, baseball, and basketball at a young age and excelled particularly at football. Halla attended High School at Southington High in central Connecticut. The school has a rich football tradition, last having a losing season in 1938. However, the school rarely wins State Championships, being in the same divsion ( LL ) as many prep schools and private schools that recruit for football nationally. Chris overcame this challenge, and won 2 state championships as a High school Quarterback. The second, during his Senior season, was particularly impressive. The team started out 0-4, while missing several key contributors to injury. After winning the final 7 regular season games in a row the team faced an immense challenge in the state playoffs. They would have to get through Hall on their way to Maloney, to then finally face the private school Xavier in the State Final. Xavier had defeated them in the Final the previous year. They overcame 23-21 in a thrilling overtime victory. Mr. Halla was more a runner than a passer at the High School level. He rushed for 66 TDs in his 4 year High School career, and threw for another 36. He also excelled academically, finishing second in his class. Mr. Halla also assisted the "Powder-Puff" team as an Assistant Coach his Senior year, and helped them overcome their crosstown rival, Cheshire. Chris Halla decided to attend college, and play college football, for his home-state team, at the University of Connecticut.

College career

UCONN is primarily a basketball school, and as such, the football program as often been overlooked. However, it is a Division 1 FBS program. Chris Halla was one of their first true blue-chip prospects. As such, he was able to play immediately as a true freshman. However, they did not believe he had the height, or the arm, to play QB at the next level and converted him to WR. With his speed and agility as a former mobile QB, and his knowledge of complex passing schemes, he excelled. Despite achieving a fair amount of individual success, his teams lacked the team success he had achieved at a high school level. In a way, this is a source of motivation for the young man as he seeks success at the next level. It is a chip on the shoulder. It also taught him resilience and determination, and how to battle through adversity. He finished his college career with 145 catches for 1705 yards and 29 receiving TDs. As well as 13 rushes for 133 yards and 2 rushing TDs, before submitting himself to the DSFL following his junior season.
