Bruce Buckley (born January 21, 2000) is an American football offensive lineman for the Free Agent of the National Simulation Football League (NSFL). He played college football for Western Sydney University (WSU) and has declared his intent to enter the professional ranks next season.

Early years

Born to poor parents, Bruce Buckley was born and raised in the rough parts of Western Sydney. Being bigger and stronger then all of the other kids led to Bruce being offered a scholarship to the prestigous Westfield Sports High School in Western Sydney. Here Buckley excelled at numerous sports but was particularly interested in playing American Football and his academics. However, the school did not support an American Football program so Buckley only played during school lunch with friends. Also, at high school Buckley became a bully and was used to throwing people aside to get them out of his way. Buckley excelled at school and was offered scholarships to numerous Australian and Asian Universities, choosing to attend Western Sydney University. The early years greatly impacted Bruce Buckley as it genereated the person he is, both in personality and play style. Buckley was a huge fan of the Seattle Seahawks in the NFL and a fan of the Outlaws in the NSFL

College career

At Western SYdney UNiversity, Buckley discovered there was no American Football program but this was the case with all other universities he was offered a scholarship to. WHile there were universities with these programs, Buckley could not afford them without a scholarship. It was at this time, Buckley was determined to reach his goal of the NSFL. He put his head into the books at WSU and trying to achieve great results during his Bachelor of Arts while palying for a local flag football team. During the championship game, a local scout noticed Buckley and his rise to prospect was started. After becoming a top tier prosipect, Buckley moved to America to achieve his goal. He was quick to rise up the scouting boards and has become one of the best prospect in the upcoming DSFL draft. However, there have been recent personality issues with Buckley who seems to believe he may be above the developmental league. Arguments with other prospects, reporters and members of staff might have an impact on his draft stock. Only time will tell.

Bruce Buckley was also voted into the S22 NSFL Pro Bowl.

It was a relatively successful rookie season for Bruce Buckley who was one of the only players nominated for 2 end of season awards and made the pro bowl. Season 23 - ISFL

Bruce Buckley in Season Twenty Three for the Arizona Outlaws really stepped forward in his career as he become the prominent Left Tackle in the entire National Simulation Football League which was renamed the International Simulation Football League at the conclusion of the season.

Bruce Buckley racked up a total of 84 pancakes through the extended 16 game season for an average of between five and six. Through the sixteen games, Bruce Buckley did not let in a sack and made sure that his defender was blocked on every single down that he was on the field for throughout the entire season twenty three campaign.

One of the biggest games of Bruce Buckley’s season as well as his young career was his week 11 game against the Yellowknife Wraiths who ended capturing a long awaited Ultimus victory in season 23. As the Arizona Outlaws went on to clinch an underdog victory against the much fancied Yellowknife Wraiths, Bruce Buckley had the greatest game of his young career. Bruce Buckley racked up 13 pancakes on the day including one paly where he was able to pancake a defender three times on one snap; showing his dominance on the day. Alongside the 13 pancakes and 0 sacks allowed, the opponent Defensive End racked up absolutely zero statistics. The Defensive End was unable to register a single sack, tackle for loss or even a tackle for that matter; he was completely shutdown for the duration of that game.

At the end of season award ceremony, Bruce Buckley was nominated for Offensive Performance of the Year for that week 11 game against the Yellowknife Wraiths as well as for Offensive Lineman of the Year. In the end, Bruce Buckley won Offensive Lineman of the Year. He also made the Pro Bowl

Season 24 - ISFL

Bruce Buckley began his 3rd season with the Arizona Outlaws with strong opening performances in the opening two weeks against the Honolulu Hahalua and the Austin Copperheads, recording 9 and 6 pancakes respectively. Lesser performances were seen in the next two games against the New Orleans Second Line and the San Jose Sabercats with Buckley racking up 5 and 3 pancakes respectively. Similar games against the Orange County Otters and the Yellowknife Wraiths produced a 5 and 3 pancakes game again. Stronger performances came back against the Colorado Yeti and Philadelphia Liberty as Buckley recorded 6 pancakes and 9 pancakes in those games. Bruce Buckley got 4 pancakes but however let in a sack in the week 9 game against the Chicago Butchers, almost ending his campaign for back to back Offensive Lineman of the Year Awards as the other lineman ahead of him in the pancake race had not given up a sack at this point. Week 10 saw a 7 pancake game against Sarasota. Buckley only recorded 12 sacks in his next 3 games with 7 of them coming in a victory over the New Orleans Second Line.

Overall, Bruce Buckley’s Arizona Outlaws finished 9-7 in an extraordinarily tight American Simulation Football Conference where the top four teams all finished 9-7. At first glance, it seemed that Arizona had sneaked into the playoffs when they were listed as the 3rd seed but after several tie breakers it was ruled that Arizona was actually the 4th seed and would be missing the playoffs. This would be the 3rd season in Arizona that Bruce Buckley would miss the playoffs.

Bruce Buckley ended the season with 82 pancakes and 1 sack allowed which was good enough for 5th on the season behind Rubbe, Dolls, Forty-Two and Magic. He was nominated for Offensive Lineman of the Year and ended up 5th in the vote. Bruce Buckley was also elected to the Pro Bowl for the 3rd consecutive season in an almost unanimous selection.
