Art Deco (born October 31, 2026) was an American football cornerback. He played college football for University of Southern California.

Early years

Art Deco was born in Los Angeles, California on October 31st, 2026. He was raised an only child to his parents Robbie Deco and three-time Olympic Gold Medalist Fiona Deco. At a young age he began training for gymnastics with his mother and her team of trainers. His athletic pursuits would change as he grew, seeking to not want to live in his mother's shadow. In his freshman year of High School he shocked the track and field coaches with his sprinting, and thus became the only freshman in school history to make it onto the varsity squad. After an unfortunate incident between him and another competitor before the 100m dash led to him being discovered by legendary Crossroads football coach Peter Bryant. After a pre-race altercation, witnesses said that 15 year old Art Deco chased down the larger senior and tackled him to the ground, breaking the players clavicle. The next year he committed as a sophomore to the University of Southern California.

College career

Art Deco’s debut at USC wasn’t jaw-dropping, but pundits and fans noted his tenaciousness on the field. A player with a high motor, Art Deco won fans over by always playing to the whistle. He ended his first year with the Trojans with a good enough performance to earn the CB2 spot where he would face some of the best WRs in all of college football.

The increase in playing time paid big dividends the following season when he began to show signs of maturing as a press corner. With his long frame Deco was able to insert himself into the conversation for breakout player of the year. In his final season with the Trojans, Art Deco led the team in INTs with 12, and had officially become one of the top cornerbacks entering the draft. Though he never won a championship in Southern California, he did set a school record for most TFLs by a defensive back with 11.

S34 DSFL Season: Art Deco played as CB2 for the Kansas City Coyotes. He had an impressive debut as a rookie, leading the league in interceptions and defensive touchdowns, and leading all cornerbacks with 3 forced fumbles. He struggled at times to clamp down receivers, but his speed allowed him to make up lost ground and record a number of tackles from behind. In spite of his strong rookie season, Deco was surprised on awards night to take home no awards at the awards show. He was nominated for three awards: Cornerback of the Year, Defensive Rookie of the Year, and Defensive Performance of the Year. Deco was drafted in the second round of the S35 ISFL draft to the Chicago Butchers. Shortly before the start of the season, Deco was notified that he'd be called up immediately to fill in the nickel-back and LB4 spot for the Butchers. Whether he'll have as impactful of a rookie debut in the ISFL remains to be seen.

S35 ISFL Season: Art Deco played something of a hybrid role in his rookie season with the reigning champion Chicago Butchers. Despite taking snaps at nickelback, the rangy corner also put his physicality on display by playing as the defenses LB4 in the 3-4 package. This led to a respectable 4 sack season for Deco, who also added an interception in coverage and 7 pass breakups. He managed 45 tackles and had himself a productive, albeit quiet debut season in the ISFL. Moving forward, Chicago head coach Richard Jensen liked what he saw from Deco, and told reporters that there was definitely the possibility of leaving him as the LB4 again for his sophomore season, as having the speed to get after the quarterback or prevent the outside run is a large part of what the defense would like to build upon in the coming season. When asked about this, Deco responded tepidly, saying that "He wasn't drafted to play LB, but he would be willing to do whatever it takes to get more time on the field."
