Aleksandar Ković (born February 25, 2034) is an American football linebacker who is currently preparing to enter the professional ranks. He played college football for University of Iowa (UI) and has declared his intent to enter the professional ranks next season.

Early years

Born to a poor family in Serbia, Aleksandar from a young age always had a bit of a mean streak with him. As early as he can remember his mother was always trying to pull him out of fights with the local children, and between her and her husband working several jobs to make ends meet, she would eventually force him into wrestling as a child to devote his energy to productive means. Aleksandar immediately had an impact on his local team, propelling them to the Serbian national championships where he would eventually get an offer to wrestle for the University of Iowa after a chance encounter with a head scout there. Following his arrival on the campus, Aleksandar would actually be suspended from wrestling after seriously injuring his opponent in the first match of his career, but another chance encounter would lead to him getting a walk on tryout with the football team.

College career

The hardest part for Aleksandar adjusting to the game of American football was actually learning how to use his physicality in a proper way that would be conductive to on the field results. Launching himself at full speed regardless of technique yielded many penalties in the team training camps meaning that he was coming off of the bench for his first game vs North Dakota State. In the game against North Dakota State he would play on 40% of the snaps picking up one sack, one tackle for loss, and three roughing the passer penalties. Over the course of the season Aleksandar would refine his game more, cutting the penalties in half while getting more consistent playing time and leading the team with sacks with 14. Following his rookie season Aleksandar would be named a full time starter on the team, playing the role of a rush linebacker, and would lead the team in sacks with 20 to work with 21 tackles for loss. Citing an interest in going pro and not wanting to play the third required season for the draft, Aleksandar dropped out to immediately pursue a career in the DSFL.

Season 41

Following his season as a waiver claim for the Coyotes, Alexsandar would see himself thrust into the limelight in a starring role on what would be a dominate Kansas City team. Alexsandar would come out of the gate flying in the week one win against the London Royals picking up three tackles in the affair, but more importantly picked up his first sack and his first forced fumble of the season in the 38-24 win. The year as a whole would be a great improvement for Alexsandar, as he would lead the league in sacks with 13 while finishing seventh in the league in tackles with 109. In the first Kansas City playoff game against London, Kovic would have a little bit of a quiet game where he’d only rack up 3 tackles and one pass defended, but would pick up six tackles, one for a loss, and one sack in a close fought game that Kansas City only lost to circumstances out of their control. Following the season Alexsandar would be surprisingly taken by the Colorado Yeti in the 2nd round of the ISFL draft.

Season 42

Following a strong rookie season and a trade to the much more highly favored Chicago Butchers, Alexsandar would come out strong and pick up where he left off and put up big numbers yet again. Step ups across the board in terms of tackles, sacks, tackles for loss, and forced fumbles. Crediting the motivation of the team and the pressure to perform in his final season in the DSFL, Alexsandar would help will the team to a playoff spot where they would lose 27-7 to rivals Minnesota, despite his incredibly 15 tackles, 1 tackle for loss, and 1 sack. He even contributed on the special teams side as well, returning 4 kicks for 72 yards to do his best on both sides of the ball. In the end it wasn’t enough and after several strong seasons with Kansas City, Alexsandar bid farewell to the team and packed his bags for the greener pastures of Chicago.
